Daylight, Saving Grace, Feel That Sun Upon Your Face

Started the day bright with a nice little brekky in our home office. I do social media coaching and consulting aside from my blog so the morning is when I check those appts off my list.  My love for granola is still going strong. I need to get some good running shoes. I’m ready to hit the pavement again too. I love daylight savings spring forward. That sun, feels so nice. Warm air, free hair. This photo has a couple ‘Sia’ comments on IG. Busted out the leather this weekend and threw on a fur vest. Anything to ditch the old winter jacket! Glasses are from Polette Eyewear in France, jacket Rudsak. Had lunch w/ April in Kensington. So bright and colourful round there. Went to buy her some flowers and realized I forgot my wallet. Thank heavens for Uber being connected to my card so I could pay by phone. Have I mentioned my excitement about mobile payments coming soon? Learned about it a bit in a dinner with Interac last week for Fraud Protection Month. Read the post here. I think I’ll do a bit more work and head out for a walk since we’ve got more daylight today. It’s amazing the motivation that comes from a little sunshine. Take it where every you go 🙂 CASIE

Wanna Earn Free Leafs tickets? Follow @TheFordFanatic :)

I usually get to one NHL hockey game per year. This season I’m taking Sean thanks to MLSE & The Ford Fanatic. I love going to the see the Leafs play and I hardly ever remember who wins. My friends and I often go to Leafs as I said, I try to go to at least on NHL hockey game per year, and sometimes we find it exciting to make up our own fantasy hockey teams to see who would win, so being able to see this game was an amazing opportunity to share this with him. This year, Ford Canada has partnered with the Leafs to help #fansgofurther. To date, between MLSE and Ford through the FordFANatic, approximately 4,800 tickets have been awarded to fans for 24 home games. I love it! How you can earn free Leafs Games tickets The purpose of the program is to engage, surprise and delight fans in a season-long program awarding positivity and passion both online and off . Fans have the opportunity to earn tickets and watch a game in the Ford Fan Deck. Follow @TheFordFanatic and take part in their weekly challenge. There’s still a few weeks left in the season. Official R&R of the contest can be found here. Behind the Twitter handle is Sarah D. and she’s been a Leafs fan as long as she remembers. Being Canadian, it’s in her blood. Growing up in rural Nova Scotia, Sarah and her peers cheered for any of the original 6 teams but, Sarah’s cheers have always been for the Leafs. Sarah was 18 when she first saw the Leafs play, when she came to Toronto to see a pre-season game. She remembers it as one of the most surreal experiences of her life, being able to see Darcy Tucker fight…

Distracted Driving is a Modern Problem

Last week I mentioned the OneTap app in a post along with the importance of NOT texting while driving. If you have an Android phone, download this app right now. Think of the olden days when people drove around without distraction of a mobile phone, then think about now…so many distractions. Even the smallest things like a sputter from your car can cause distractions! If your car is very loud and splutters all the time, you might want to soundproof your car. It will stop distractions from your car that the OneTap can’t prevent as well as making conversations inside the car much easier. Now, soundproofing your car doesn’t have to be expensive either, as long as you get it from the right place. OneTap is an app that keeps drivers focussed on the road. I know updates can be distracting (my phone is buzzing all day!) but there’s no text, email, tweet, or status update worth risking your life. Looking at these texting and driving statistics should be enough to make you realise this, as there are a shocking number of accidents that happen as a result of it, and I’m sure those involved would turn back time in an instant and put their phone away before turning on their engine. All kinds of small distractions can be so easily avoided. When you look away from the road it’s like driving blind and an accident can happen in a split second, which could end badly for everyone involved, it might end with you being charged with something like vehicular homicide and requiring the help of someone like these criminal attorneys to take on your case. Key features of OneTap App • Prevent distractions from calls, texts and alerts • Activate manually, or let it detect when you’re driving and…

Days Go By and Still I Think of You

Hello darlings! Feeling fresh today with my new hair. Got bangs. Going for that Sia look. House of Cards has me teetering on the cut/grow hair situation and today I’m back to growing it. This is the awkward stage so I’m trying my best to make it through. If I can hold out a couple more months, I’ll be fine! Had an awesome rehearsal for Army of Sass last night. I can’t WAIT till the show. I will have tickets in about a week. I’ve had morning meetings and appts all week and today is my first morning dedicated to blogging. I’m about to make a nice brekky and catch up on the Y&R. Yes, I STILL watch it! Got new glasses by Derek Cardigan from Clearly Contacts and have a contest launching later today. If you’re interested in my sweet Carrera Marble laptop skin you can get one here. I make a small commission from each sale so if you do buy one, THANK YOU. This Wes Anderson book Sean picked up is so awesome. Ok, back to the drawing blogging board! Have an GREAT DAY. Enjoy that sunshine! ☀️ ❤️ CASIE * I’ve always loved this song/video!

Travel | Nuit Blanche à Montréal

This weekend Sean and I went to Montreal as you know. It was a short but fun trip. I love Montreal and even though we were gone and back within 24 hours, a getaway is always nice. Here’s a little sneak peek of what we got up to! Only packed one small Sully Wong overnight bag for the trip. I’ve become a master at packing lite! It’s quite lovely taking the Via Rail in the daytime. We sat at the front of our car and were able to experience the beautiful trip in the sunshine.  The sun was so bright the car was heating up, it felt like summer! There’s wifi on the train so we were able to get a bunch of work done. Sean’s beard is getting so big! Huge thank you to Fairmont Montreal for all the treats they sent to our room. A bowl of fresh fruit and a card arrived just after we checked in.  We popped over to the Apple Store to pick up a HDMI cable so we could watch some House of Cards and plan our night. Next they sent a gift bag with our media passes and some delicious chocolate treats from a French patisserie. @casiestewart you are very welcome! Have fun tonight! #NuitBlanche #MTLMOMENTS — Fairmont The Queen E (@FairmontQueenE) February 28, 2015 We stopped into a church on rue Sainte-Catherine for a poetry reading in the pews before heading to Place des Arts to see all the action. There was heaps going on! We walked through a couple domed filled with winter activites before heading up the stairs to try the ZIPLINE. It was longer than I thought and went over the entire crowd at Place des Arts. Huge thanks to Montreal tourism for the media passes because we were able to skip the line! Nuit…
