I was a bit slack on blogging last week. Was feeling overwhelmed, I’ve had so much going on lately I feel like I’m constantly running. This weekend we closed the cottage. It was so beautiful out, the weather was fabulous, saw lots of stars, sun was shining shining, the leaves had fallen. It was lots of work but nice. Something like ‘A bad day at the cottage is better than a good day at work.‘
Two weeks ago I did a TEDx talk and last week I was shooting with Umbra. All this stuff takes a good amount of prep. I spend A LOT of time sitting at my computer. I wonder what it’s like to be a celebrity just go, go, go all the time and you can’t even tell or know what’s going to happen next, it’s just like ‘okay let’s go’. But then you might have someone to help you and a driver so you wouldn’t have to get your own coffee. Ha!
I’ve been really trying to work on my non-Internet skills lately. I mean I’m working on mostly on getting my space ready to do things that AREN’T on the Internet. Like sewing, I love sewing! My favourite thing about winter is staying home and organizing, doing things and making things. Although I say this, I do want to make things off the internet, I want to put them on the internet as soon as I make them. The circle never ends!
Years ago in 2008, I said to a couple friends, ‘people are gonna know me for my blog‘. They laughed their heads of at me and made jokes. That winter I stayed home and wrote heaps and worked on design and my HTML skills. In the spring, companies and people started knowing my blog and wanting to do things with me. And send me stuff! It was a great feeling.
I guess what I’m saying is don’t let anyone stand in the way of your dreams and take time for yourself. Time off the Internet will inspire your internetting! This weekend at the cottage was so nice. I feel refreshed!
In other news, I got new hair last week. It was time for a change. It’s pretty dark and I’m not really adjusted to it yet. It’s ben a LOOOOONG time since I had dark-ish hair. You like?
