pardon me while I burst into flames. seriously.

Mega swoonfest took place last night. I didn’t even take photos of myself or Sammy. ALL BRANDON. He is so good. Great voice, tall skinny, long hair, rocker, tattoos. I’ve been a band fan since high school and last night was my first time seeing them live. This is Incubus pr0n. #swoon We were super close. Thank you to my friend Brandon in LA who manages the Incubus Foundation makeyourselffoundation.org for hooking us up with tickets. They put on a really great show. We had a blast. Shirt open… Shirt OFF. So good. His voice, so good. Ripped. The video was really well done.

always have a dream that is longer than a lifetime

Thought of you when I saw this Mum. Orange hearts painted outside Roy Thompson Hall. Orange tie. Mel. Everyone was ringing their bike bells for Jack. I Rang mine heaps too. I love how he inspired positivity in so many people. Has anyone in Canada had an impact like this before? I loved the old photos and seeing things people made for him. Few cans of orange crush too. Drum practice at N.P.Square. Huge clap when his daughter talked about his fashion sense in the early years. The funeral was beautiful. Music, singing, kind words. You were awesome Jack Layton. Your spirit will live on in me and so many people. Your funeral was touching. (I balled my eyes out to be honest.) Biked all over with Keri looking at the chalk and reading messages people wrote you. Everyone clapped and sang at your funeral. Tears, smiles and lots of love. You made the world a better place. I will do my best too. Thank you ♥ * title is a Jack quote 🙂 [View the story “Jack Layton Funeral” on Storify]

Gladstone Tweetgasm August 2011: Brock + Sockhop

This month’s Tweetgams was Monday night The Gladstone  hosted by the lovely Brock McLaughlin. Doesn’t he look like James Dean. Swoon. Tweetgasm is fun. I’m going to host one in October. Stay tuned for that. Boogie down baby. I went for 60’s Twiggy mod. Auditioned for a ghosty show today with Lauren O’Nizzle. It was fun. I hope they pick us. There were some nice outfits. I’m going to have a theme for my Tweetgasm too. Idea submissions encouraged. THE END.

stella block party was a stellar block party, blog party.

Welcome to the party. Please drink responsibly. The lights were  my love of the night. More of this please. So pretty. These shots are so tumblrey or hipster bride. If you are reading this and getting married (I know there’s a few!) and don’t know Hipster Bride yet, well, be thankful you are reading this now. It’s full of inspiration. This one is cool. Beautiful clear sky & bright moon tonight. I love this city. Reminded me a bit of the supermoon, that night was special. Bit of a stalk party, cameras everywhere. I bet they make a wicked video from the night. Saw a couple videographers capturing moments in time. Look at that sky & view, so nice. Loved people walking by wondering what the heck this ‘pop up party’ was. Lights and music were in everyones eyes & ears. You couldn’t miss it. There was a lineup the entire night. You‘re alright but I’m here, darling, to enjoy the party. Now THIS is cool. Never seen one of these before… Say, wha? What’s a beer pumper? Oh yes, this is a beer pumper my friends. Trexxx on the TAPS! OMG YES! (Ok, wasn’t actually working but still cool.) Want that truck to put out MY fire ifyaknowhatimean. Had a bunch of peeps I’ve never met IRL who read my blog come say HI. HI GUYS, nice meeting you! Truly great meeting people who read/love this blog and no it’s not creepy/weird when you say “Hi, my name is ____ and I read your blog/follow you Twitter/FB.” (Google+ would be kinda creepy though to be honest. Ha. Seriously.) Always say HI, I love it. There were a ton of babes on the block. Seriously, babes everywhere. Nice one Keri for winning the contest & getting to host the party downtown.…

Don’t stop believin’, ever.

Thanks Amex for a great night. Journey was awesome live. A night to remember with a bunch of really good people. We got the star treatment from start to finish. Amex has been a good friend, remember last year’s Amex Canvas event when I won my lovely iPad Andy? Won tickets to Ke$ha last night too. Thanks team!  Gotta work my way up to a Gold card. Hint hint 😉 Private dinner was in this lovely area on the water. Thanks for this little guy. Now all I need is a trip & new luggage to match! Short & sweet preso about the new Amex Gold Rewards Card. Lots of features, points & perks. Check out all the deets here. Tweet wall was done really well. Put photos up with Tweets. Nice to see you Breanna! Rannie was out photog. Love this pic. Beerfest 2011, The Sheepdogs, Sunshine & Rain

Welcome to the Social Media Lounge. Turned out great cause we had food & beer service inside our lounge with a roof over head. Considering how hard it rained here & there, appreciated it heaps. You get one glass like this to fill up with different beers. I had heaps of beer tokens and was the Suga Mama for my peeps. I surprisingly didn’t get drunk and was sober when I came home. Thankful for that. I’m growing up, clearly. I also love being Suga Mama. My Converse at the start of the day. Crisp, white, cute. My Converse now. Dirty, muddy, ruined. Sheepdogs chilled in our lounge for a bit. ET Canada was there doing stories. I love guys who look like Jesus. I’m not religious but that look has me hooked like Sunday morning. Nice meeting you babes. You’re gonna be huge. These pix are for you Mum!! Told them about you 🙂 Fan girls. (fatal attraction to cuteness) Top of the Budweiser Big Rig! Spent lots of time on that thing last year at BudCamp. Saw a bunch of my BudCamp babes around too. Not confirmed if I’ll be there again this year. Here comes the rain. We got drenched. It was AWESOME. Everyone was swayin’ in the crowd singing along to the Sheepdoggies. It was very rock-festivally. Dear God, yes please. With a side of bass. Party on Wayne. Sheepdoggy Style. Front row. Shan, check that beardo brother in the background! haha Sick stache buddy. Whatever happened to the Beardo Brothers anyways? I loved those guys. (I checked, they’re like, old now.) This is only a selection of photos I took of these guys. They are for my, uh, personal collection. Hey B-ROCKlyn. Olympus PEN cam, ILU! Thanks to TorStar for the brolly. Comics FTW! Wearing KINI…

Saturday Hipster Hop: The Hoxton, Dance Party, Pool Party

Saturday night was opening of the Hoxton. we were told to be there early, but naturally, we rockd up closed to 11:30 and it was a mess. Cops all over the place, hipster hardcode lined up around the worker and the sidewalk covered in people. We were on VIP Media list but that wasn’t going to help at the time. There were so many people at the time that nobody was getting in. Asked Zane if it was worth it and came to the conclusion we’re better off changing plans. Wahhhhhh. Not Hox for these kids just yet. Media night is Aug. 31 so we’ll be there then. Everywhere was packed and since we were with some travellers, Scottie. Ross & Andrew and The Australian, we stopped by the Backpackers Hostel for beers with the babes. I always wanted to check that place out anyways. O’Nizz & I pretended we were travellers too and met this REAL CANADIAN. Bathrooms in that place are nasty. PLANK GIRL. Next stop TOTA so see some friends & DJs. This party don’ stop. Was so smart of me to bring that fan. Dance party. We all hopped the fence at Scadding Court and joined a bunch of other hipsters for a late night swim. IT WAS AWESOME. POOL PARTY! Sammy & Ross are vets at pool hopping. They were at the massive pool hang at Christie pool a couple weeks back. Everyone in their skivvies. Peeps were chill in’ all over the place. Not posting that many pix cause there were some naked peeps and imma respect their bums. Yes. Family photo. We missed you Seany! Cops in the distance. Party over. Saw a mega snake in the park. I touched it. I love snakes. Home time. The end. Epic night. One of the…

he got that super bass. yeah that’s that super bass.

It’s beautiful out today! Doing a wee bit of work them meeting a babe for a bike to the beaches. Later in the day brings a Bellwoods hang and tonight I’ve got a date with my computer. Ate this ice cream last night. Doesn’t it look delish? It was. Last night I opened a box of creativity and started working on my first short film. I shot it with Olympus PEN, camera is wicked. I’m loving iMovie. Man, switching from Windows Movie maker to that is like a whole different generation of awesome. Keri got me hooked on this jam and it keeps popin’ up on my Spotify. I love it now. Enjoy! Have a beautiful day 🙂

something really special (about my bed)

Got something really, really neat in the mail yesterday. Any guesses? A cape? A toga outfit? Nope… Au Lit Fine Linens sent me 100% Egyptian Cotton Linens with MY NAME ON THEM! Did I ever have a great sleep last night. In August they have a White Sale: UP TO 50% OFF entire store! Downtown stores are: Au Lit Fine Linens: 2049 Yonge Street, Toronto Au Lit Outlet: 2045 Yonge Street, Toronto (Great deals) LIV by Au Lit: 418 Eglinton Avenue West, Toronto (Home & Fashion) In other news… These are the old Docs I took back the other day. See the eyes on the front are not attached to the actual shoe? Docs don’t wear out that often but (if you have been reading this blog for a while) you know I am hard on things. I put everything through the “Casie Stewart: this is my life” test which is heaps of use and lots of wear. I’m REALLY great at testing products, especially electronics & clothes. (HINTY HINT) The things about Docs is they last forever. The shop on Queen Street kindly replaced my pair with a shiny new set of boots. When Fall rolls around I’ll be rockin’ them with that sexy leather jacket I picked up from Holts during the Crystal Light Challenge.   Tonight I’m staying at the SOHO Hotel with a friend courtesy of Jaunt.ca and tomorrow Keri and I are doing the Volkswagen Driving Tour. I’m gonna zip around in a TDI. Vroooooooooooooooom.  Gonna be a great weekend! Happy FRIDAY!       * Dr. Martens didn’t ask me to write this. I just LOVE THEM! ALWAYS WILL XOXO

COOL THINGS HAPPENING.

Our city is full of really rad things to do. Did you know that the pool at Bathurst & Dundas is free and open till midnight? It was packed last night. Last night was also super hot. I went for a bevy with cute boy and he brought a water gun. Gentlemen, do this. It’s cute and fun and very practical during this extreme heat wave. Look at this happy face 🙂 July 26th – Art Battle Sweet 16 Have you ever been to an Art Battle? It’s competitive paint battling! This round they have 16 painters and it is going to be exciting. Last one I went to was AB:11. The great Hall gets packed with painters and it’s quite a site to see. I recommend you check it out. Facebook deets here.  Parkdale Bazzar: Wolfie Prints Sale My friend Nicole (you will see her at Peach Berserk) has a rad Etsy store (you know I lvoe Ets). The shop is called Wolfie Prints and it’s a collection of original hand drawings on clothing and paper.  She is park of the Parkdale Bazzar, Saturday, July 23 from 11am-5pm at Parkdale Town Square. This is my fav shirt of hers, the Sugar Skull Tee. One more cool thing! Rule Britannia!  My friends at Bangs&Blush wrote about this night for Shirk Mag.

Made this video for Dad a in 2009. I watched practice from the fence. I love the sound of those cars. Had longer hair then too. Do you ever read the archives? This weekend I am super stoked to be checking out the HONDA INDY. Friday is FREE DAY and anyone can go. If you’ve never been or want an excuse to leave work early, you’re welcome. There’s also a Tweetup on Saturday. The charming & good looking (;)) team at Honda Canada gave me a pair of GOLD passes for the weekend including Paddock Passes for extra awesome access.
