One of my favourite events every TIFF is the Bask-It Style Lounge by Glo Communications. Starting in 2009, Bask-It Style VIP gift bags are filled with new, innovative, premium brands to be hand-delivered to the city’s top hotels, publicists, and A-list celebrities. Shark FlexStyle This hair tool is amazing! I’ve been using it for the past month and I love it. The SharkFlexstyle is a powerful, fast, no-heat-damage hair dryer, and an ultra-versatile multi-styler. I love how quickly it dries my hair and how easily I can add volume with the curl attachments. It’s also the most compact hair dryer I’ve ever had so it’s great for travel. Highly recommend this product! Peak Human I’m always looking for new ways to improve my health so was keen to meet Dr. Goel from Peak Human. I signed up for an Emsculpt treatment and a Drip Trip vitamin IV. I opted for an energizing IV that took about 20 minutes and included B12, magnesium, argentine, trace minerals, and amino acids. This year’s Toronto International Film Fest was so much fun. I was hot off the heels of Venice Film Fest and the whole experience felt like a movie. One of my favorite events every TIFF season is the Bask-It Style lounge hosted by Glo Communications. They bring together a variety of brands spanning fashion, beauty, and lifestyle, inviting media to discover what’s new and take home a great selection of items. Natalie and I met up to view the brands together and it was truly a great time. We had our makeup done by Stila, hair by Marc Anthony, tried on glasses by Victoria Beckham, and more. One of the BEST gifts was the Philips Sonicare Prestige, it has Bluetooth, an app, and uses AI to get to know your mouth. Incredible! We sampled wine from the Rueda region in Spain. A personal favorite of mine, ever since I visited the region back in 2019 (see here!). Wine sommelier Renée Sferrazza was on site to take us through the different blends and I took home a 2020 bottle of Nēkora by Diez Siglos. I’m not sure what else to say right now other than, I’M SO EXCITED! Today is media day for TIFF, the day before the festival officially opens. This is my 10th year as a media (blogger) type person and each year I cover events, entertainment, lounges, and of course, film. So far this year I’ve seen pre-screeners of two Canadian films, Black Conflux, and White Lie. (I’ll share a movie reviews post early next week.) Last night I attended an event for Warner Bros ‘TheGoldfinch’ This is my attempts at painting a colourful ‘goldfinch’ at the event last night w/ The Crazy Plate Lady. Check out her amazing work here, she’s INCREDIBLE. Yesterday I started my day with a fresh manicure then picked up a sweet red Volvo S60 so I can drive around to everything which is INCREDIBLY CONVENIENT. Today tho, today is one of the most wonderful days of the YEAR. I’ve got a full day of visiting TIFF gifting suites to experience a range of products and services including a facial, botox, makeup, a blowout, and more. What is a Gifting Lounge? A gifting suite (or lounge) is a popup location, often during an award show of film festival, where companies give products to celebrities in exchange for the famous person takes a photo with the product, wears the gift on a red carpet, or while standing in front of a step & repreat wall displaying company logos.
