This weekend I will be attending podcamp at Ryerson University. Podcamp is an unconference that is free for all those interested in all things podcasting, blogging and new media. Anyone can attend! For more information visit the Wiki and sign up!
I’ve been doing some research into the Institute for Human Continuity. Have you seen their website? It’s very nice. They have done a fantastic job at making this site seem real. I registered for the IHC Lottery so that I too can have a higher chance of survival after the catastrophic events they predict will take place in 2012. I hope you are thinking, “WTF is she talking about?” or “Has she totally lost it?“ After researching I found out that it is a promo for Sony’s 2012 movie coming out in November 2009. 2012 is an epic adventure about a global cataclysm that brings an end to the world and tells of the heroic struggle of the survivors. It is so easy to over look things, online you don’t know at first glance what is real and what isn’t. I make a point in my life to be the realest and seek out the truth. You should too.
Just snagged these images from CBC & National Post Live Blogs. The National Post, CBC and Whitehouse are all covering Obama’s visit to Canada in live blog form. If you didn’t know already blogging is really cool. Twitter’s second highest trending topic today is #obamawa. In the photo below U.S. President Barack Obama walks with Canadian Governor General Michaelle Jean upon his arrival at the Ottawa International Airport in Ottawa, today. This was at thew Ottawa airport when he arrived. (CBC Live Blog)
I’ve been working on my French skills over the last year. Some of my tools are watching French movies, news in French and listening to French Music. I’ve got occasional podcasts also but I find them to be not nearly as fun. My french is better when written and more understood when read. My friend Charlie introduced me to my new fav French girl, Camille. This is her ‘Money Note’. She uses her voice to make cool sounds and incorporates them into her tracks. C’est fantastique!! My other favorites are Yelle and Carla Bruni.
This has been floating around Facebook since January. I figured since I’ve been tagged by a ton of friends it is about time I shared 25 random facts about me. The rules go as follows: Once you’ve been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. Blah, blah, blah… Here we go: I was born in Canada to New Zealand parents and have dual citizenship (Canadian/New Zealand). I danced ballet, tap and jazz as a kid and completed in competitions across Ontario as well as Showstopper in NY & Myrtle Beach, SC. I was 5 with fake lashes and red lipstick! I wrote a book and became a published Canadian Author at 14. It was titled Jeans: An Anthology of Poetry and Prose. The Toronto Star wrote and article about me titled “Push Over Keats, Teen Muse Steps Ahead“. I went to Uni in Australia and lived at Bondi Beach. It was the best year because I learned the most about myself and WHO I really am. I hate scary movies. I get queezy and I don’t like to put bad images in my head. I’m crazy enough already! I still have all my Barbies and their vintage outfits. I hope to get them made in my size one day. I have a Green Belt in Tae Know Do and once knocked…
When I was home this weekend I went on an adventure in Riverside Park. The Grand River was higher than normal and most of the park interior was flooded. Bonga and I set off in to the forest. It was not long before we found ourselves trapped in the middle of melting ground, mud, ice and marsh. It was time to conquer the elements. The sun was shining bright giving us super powers to take on the cold. Not even the high flowing river could hold us back. I was dressed to lead the pack with my warm jacket and Hunter Wellies. We grabbed walking sticks to ensure we knew exactly if the ground was hard or soft and to make it easier to jump over stuff. This also helped in breaking up the ice on the boardwalk. It was really fun.
I went home to Cambridge after Valentines Day to hang with my friends and family. I had a really great time. Karrera and I stopped to get some pho on the way at Ben Thahn in Cambridge. I used to love it there but my pho was gross and over priced compared to downtown. The sun was shining so bright I needed to wear my sunnies. In the car Karrera has a crystal and I caught some rainbows on my tattoo’s as we drove through the sunshine.
I’ve was looking though the Twestival TO photos and noticed a little trend in a few different pictures It is a familiar face I have seen many times before. I reckon you might recognize it as well.
My favorite store in the city is Apt. 909. I love it. I go in, love it most when I’m the only one there. I drop all my stuff and take off my shoes. The music is great and the atmostphere is like stepping in to another world. I got new glasses and a pretty dress.
I was out walking this morning, enjoying the sunshine. I passed this wheat paste art attack and felt filled with love. I share with you what I saw while you were still in bed. Enjoy. I like this stuff, I’m borderline artistic. My favorite’s are first and last, these are my photos.

It was awesome. Jenie & I are in this video along with a bunch of other Tweeps & peeps who attended TwestivalTO. Thank you to everyone who came out. I met HEAPS of totally cool people who were mobilized for the cause. We beat our goal and Twestival Toronto can build wells for communities without access to clean water. Great job!!
Thanks to Rob at Bobby Five. Woooooooooooooooooooot!
