If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you know I’ve been deep in what dress should I wear?! mode for an upcoming event. I stopped by Fitzroy Rentals , owned by my longtime friends, Ange and Jules, to try on some looks. I’ve been renting dresses from them for years (back to their Ossington storefront days).
One of my favourite events during ‘gala season’ is the Motion Ball Toronto Gala, a night that combines dressing up, dancing, philanthropy, and great energy, all in support of the Special Olympics.
Trying on dresses is always a full experience; Sequins, drama, glamour, laughter, and mirror selfies. I tried on a few absolute stunners, sleek, sparkly, bold, romantic, and shared the whole thing on Instagram (HERE!). Truly grateful for the DMs, comments, opinions, and “OMG THAT ONE” energy.

About The Event + Organization
motionball is a non-profit organization that connects young professionals to the Special Olympics movement through social and sporting events. Over the years, motionball has raised more than $20 million for the Special Olympics Canada Foundation, supporting thousands of Canadians with intellectual disabilities across the country.
Their biggest event of the year is the Toronto Motion Ball Gala, happening February 6, 2026, at Liberty Grand. It’s a huge celebration with live music, DJs, a luxury silent auction, complimentary drinks, and a room full of people who want to make a difference.
