We spent a couple of days up north making apple cider at the farm. BF found some old winemaking equipment on Facebook Marketplace and picked up a bunch of cool glass bottles from someone else. It was fun to use old equipment that’s stood the test of time instead of buying something new online.

We had heaps of apples from the farm (not entirely sure what kind!), and the whole family got involved with picking, washing, chopping, crushing and pressing. It was a bit of a process, but we ended up making around 50 litres of fresh cider. The weather was beautiful. Donut had a great time running around & chasing the ATV. I love spending time here.

After all the apple pressing, we had a fire, cooked some steaks and relaxed. We’ve got some cider fermenting in the basement now, so we’ll see how our first batch of homemade hard cider turns out.
