I had an awesome weekend. I’m digging that I’m not making myself feel like I have to blog on the weekend. Now that it’s springy and warm outside I want to get out and enjoy it. Really, really gotta get my bike on the road. I’m wearing open toed shoes today. The Gladiators. Today is Samuel Morse birthday and Google’s logo is in Morse code. I dig it. I’ve thought about getting a poem I wrote tattooed in Morse code. I like the way it looks.Cara and I went to Frock Swap on Saturday afternoon near Kensington. It was lovely. I snagged a few nice dresses. I’m lucky that so many vintage dresses are mini and they fit me just right. I always find a few jems. I wore these Pooh’s on my head while I was there. I liked them, they made me feel cool. I wore a strapless long dress tho show the shoulders to the sun. They got some love for sure. I also picked up a few new pairs of glasses. Necessary to have about a zillion pairs. I lose/break a few each year and I’ve got a drawer full of backups. Happy that the sun came out to play.
I saw on the news this morning that there was a smash up between a police car and street car last night at King & Spadina. Minor injuries to two our officers. I was news reporting last night when I started #spadinawatch. Today was a really beautiful day. I had coffee with a friend and went a walk for about two hours. around the St. Lawrence Market, Bay Street, Queen Street, Spadina. I had coffee with a friend who was off to Opera rehearsal for the COC. Pretty cool! Today is PI Day – 3/14. I stopped by Black Market on Queen, everything in the store is $10 right now. Got a couple goodies! I ran into a few peeps walking around which is always awesome. I’m enjoying all the tweets from my friends at the SXSW Interactive conference in Austin, TX. Wish I was there too!
I found this little note from my first day on set at Degrassi. in 2007 I was doing a bunch of random jobs that summer including background work and PR. I started thinking to myself as I sit here in Holding for my first day at Degrassi High…. Here I am working on a show I’ve never seen surrounded by a bunch of people whom either I’ve only met over the last six weeks or never seen before. Its great, as I hear the sound of “Its Raining Men” on the set, I’ve managed once again to avoid being used or getting on camera. It’s a total dream when you get to spend the day sitting in Holding, getting paid to do whatever it is your little heard desires until they call for lunch or “everyone on set”. I’m hoping that today I make to lunch at least. I’m hiding in the back area hoping not get get noticed or called. Made it past lunch. Thank god. Unfortunately, I had to walk past the cast a few times on camera holding hands with Jessica as if she was my girlfriend. Someone in the cast is at a gay bar with a rich guy and from what I can tell he is barely, if even at all out of the closet to his friends on the show (or in real life.) I wish I had seen this damn show at least once. Turns out that guy did come out of the closet and I still, to this day, have not seen the show. Something totally ‘fab’ did happen that day; I was given a pair of boots from wardrobe because I didn’t bring any heels with me.
