I really love award show tweeting. I joined Twitter in 2008 and since then my experience watching almost everything on TV has been enhanced. Hello, The Bachelor? In 2009 I joined Much/MTV Canada as their resident social media wizard and tweeted award shows, Jersey Shore, MMVAs, MMVAs and everything in between.
This weekend I’m doing a Twitter Takeover of the Dippity-Do Gel account for the MVT VMAs. They have heaps of fun hair chalk I’ve been using since last year to make my hair violet, pink, blue, etc. It’s great bc washes out with shampoo. ??
I dug up a bunch of hairstyles from the MTV VMA archives for the chat that are SURE to bring back some memories.
This is kinda full circle because as kid in dance, Dippity-Do Gel was what we all used to create the ‘bun head’ look or slick our hair back for competitions. They sent over a package of goodies and when I opened it to see this blue gel I had childhood flashbacks. ??
THIS year at the VMAs our Queen Brit is performing for the first time in almost a decade. The first big concert I ever say was Britney, we are the same age, and I have loved her forever. I did Hit Me Baby One More Time with some friends in the high school air bands and tbh I really just love her . She’s always been my Queen B.

It’s rumoured that Beyonce will be performing at the VMAs this year and her dancers have been seen spotted rehearsing.
