These ladies are style inspiration for ANY AGE. Someone shared this video with me yesterday when I mentioned that 73 year old fox, Haddie. They’re all from New York and somewhere between “50 and death” as one of them says. I’m not scared of getting old at all. Life is a journey. This year I turn thirty and I’m so ready for it! I know, you thought I was younger my my youthful charm, hold the compliments 😉 In other style news, Lauren, Julio and I are in the Globe & Mail Fashion & Beauty photos of the week (from Friday’s Motion Ball Gala). Watched State of The Union last night (sounds like a movie, no?). Obama is a great speaker. I find him really charming. I used to blog about him heaps before he was President. Love this photo essay from his college years in Time Magazine. Click image to see it all again. When I was growing up I used to go to dance competitions in New York and Myrtle Beach fairly often. I was in love/obsessed with the American flag. I had jackets, shorts, shirts, hats GALORE. Jenie and I had matching full sequin flag hats. Snapped this photo at the Boston airport the other day. I love Instagram. In other American news my young Canadian friend from the west coast, Alex Kazemi recently interviewed LANA DEL REY. I love her. Check out his interview here. I’ve been on a bit of an optimism kick this week. I’m working on some exciting projects with awesome people that I will tell you about in DUE TIME. Reminded myself of Optimism Girl last night. Did you know she’s over 16 now? Crazy. This will perk you up no matter what kind of day you’re having. This morning I have a car service taking Sammy & I to Pearson Airport for a luncheon with HP & Air Canada. No, not leaving the country yet though! Will be at the DX3 conference later in the afternoon. Getting really stoked for Austin & SXSW in March. Started prep with my panel mates and loving our ‘Narcism Notes’. How can I be more grateful for the love & abundance around me and share it with the world?

Went to this lovely little diner for breakfast today. It’s in Newton called Johnny’s Luncheonette, they have awesome latkes & matzo balls and all kinds of other good stuff. Been top of the ‘Best in Boston’ lists for years. I had the most divine sampler with crunchy toast, french toast, bacon, sausage, eggs and strawberries all topped off with icing sugar and a cup of maple syrup. It’s been a few hours and I’m still full. It was really sunny. Title of this post is from a photo I saw of something in Courtney Love’s West Village Townhouse. She’s a contributing editor to XO Jane and the photos & captions done by Jane are simply beautiful. See it here. I think I will live in New York at least once. This weekend has been a wonderfully chilled out break from the first 20 days of the year traveling to and from parties and conferences in Toronto, Detroit & Vegas. I’m at my friends house for a couple hours, their backyard is like a winter wonderland forrest. Ellen and I are doing a yoga class in about an hour. She’s a yoga teacher but were going to a new studio. After class we head back to the house for BBQ steak dinner. I’m back to Toronto tomorrow afternoon and will be happily at home for a few weeks. Yay!

We’re second best in the world! Embrace Winter!

Toronto’s been named second best city in the world! The big apple took the cake for first place but hey, it’s NEW YORK. Read it here in the Globe & Mail. We had a mini blizzard in Toronto today. When I say ‘we’ I mean Toronto and not the kind of blizzard you get from Dairy Queen! Brrrrr. Took this pano from the balcony just before sunset. The weather was really moody today all up, down, angry, then the sun finally came out. I felt a bit like that too. This video is down by the lake when I was almost BLOWN OVER. keek/casiestewart Stopped by the beach in the afternoon. No really, I went to the urban beach even though it was FREEEEZING. Sand & snow! Embrace winter! I love how the boats look, pretty, peaceful and cold. I have so man memories from this spot. Hung out at CTS with Emma in the afternoon and she dressed me in a full leather outfit. Decided to walk back from my meeting to get some fresh air. Hanging out with these guys tonight. These are my favourite chocolate treats if you are wondering what to get me for valentines. In celebration of Toronto’s awesomeness and being one of the BEST CITIES to live in here’s a lovely tune from GTA cool kids Walk Off the Earth called ‘Corner of Queen’. Queen Street FTW!

Love this blog foudre.co, it’s full of beautiful fashion photos. One of the reasons I really love tumblr is there are so many passionate fashion bloggers lovers & brands there (McQueen, Vogue). Pre-Fall collections are coming out now and I love, love pre-fall. It’s that romantic time between hot & cold where you can go bare legs but still match a scarf & coat. The best suitcase I have ever used.

A couple days before my most recent trip I got an email from RIMOWA, Germany’s luxury luggage manufacturer. I’ve never had nice luggage let alone ‘luxury’! Actually, the little suitcase I have belonged to someone else, is old and has a ripped zipper. It’s crap. The note was about Salsa Air Ultralight weighing only 4.2 lbs, making it the lightest carry-on luggage on the market and built for strength and durability. Now, if you know me AT ALL…you know strength & durability are HUGE in the things I use/wear. They had a suitcase delivered for me to take to Costa Rica and honestly, IT WAS THE SH!T! I love it. Rolled and tossed that baby with elegance, easy and style from Toronto to Miami to Costa Rica to Libia to New York and home. We travelled car, bus, ferry, flight and through jungle, resort, beach and rain. Made this little vid-yo on the main street in Montezuma outside El Sana Banano. Thank you RIMOWA. Can I please keep it?! 😉

Life Was Made for Living So Try Your Best

Couple days behind on documenting my trip, it’s just so lovely outside, who wants to be on the computer?! Yesterday I went sailing to Tortuga Island and have HEAPS of photos. The day before I went to visit Tracy’s hostel and hung out with her & Barratt. This is her view! Breathtaking. Barratt and I had lunch at this little café and they gave us cutlery in plastic. Never seen that before. I had a sandwich but it was nothing special. While I was sitting there the owner of the place I stayed the night before walked by and asked to talk to me. My first thought,”sh!t, I’m in trouble for being loud, drinking and smoking” but that was not the case at all! He gave me back 5000$ colones ($10) because he felt bad that it was under construction and I had paid a full $20. Score! After lunch I waited at the bar (Choco’s) for the other Anamaya people to finish up surfing. I’m a bit silly though and forgot our driver parked somewhere else and I totally missed the ride back up the hill of death (mega steep). Liquid dinner again. Good thing though cause I met this lovely blonde girl from England named Jules. Her and I hit it off right away, she’s crazy like me! HI JULES! <3 One of a kind, & hand painted designer cigarettes. Ok, hand painted by me with Sharpie but cool. Borderline Artistic! Jules and I played pool with some local boys and we all brought our own drinks to the bar. Crazy! Meet the Israeli boys babes Evyatar & Amir. Quite lovely! Since there’s only one bar in town you get to know everyone pretty quick, especially when you’re tres friendly and Casie Stewart. No seriously though, I’ve met heaps…

There’s relaxed, then there’s REALaxed.

Doing a class in aerial silks this morning. Skipped yoga to catch up on emails & life stuff. I’m feeling mega relaxed. REALaxed. Was raining heaps this morning but it’s starting to clear up now. Going for a surf in the afternoon and I reckon the sun will be shining by then. Saw the cat catch, kill, eat a hummingbird today. CRAZY. Made two besties last night Lizzy from NYC & Jed D. from New Haven, Connecticut. Lizzy told me I should move to New York and I’m seriously considering it. I’ve been looking for a change and that would be really cool. Baz said “live in New York once but leave before it make you hard & live in LA once but leave before it makes you soft”. I wanna give each one a try. I watch this as a reminder once in a while. if you’ve never seen it, it will brighten your day. One of my fav parts is “Your choices are half chance, so are everybody else’s.” Remmeber, you are younger today than you will ever be again. Do something special, remind yourself that YOU ARE ALIVE. Life is made for living 🙂

When you find an old song you for got then you remember it. So good. Love this one by the White Stripes, Little Acorns. I paused the Y&R so I could listen. Was googling for a girl in a wing suit because the wind suit kinda looks like the CN Tower Edge walk suit and today Mastercard hooked me up with the experience to make it happen in the Spring. I’ve been tweeting I wanna do the Edgewalk since it was invented, last tweet was Oct. 4. The vault was full of vouchers and there was a grand prize of a $10,000 card with a trip to NY or London. I would love to go to New York or London or anywhere. Countdown gif, hehe. Base jumping is terrifying & fascinating. I have bungy and skydive in line before I try that one. I found this one crazy/awesome girl, Géraldine Fasnacht, who does mind-blowing wing suit flying. This video get’s intense at :40 and then my heart drops. After watching this I got lost in a wingsuit girl TIMEWARP of the the internet. I’ll need to get someone to shoot from by balcony when I do the walk on he Tower. I can get pretty close with the new lens Olympus sent over. Omg next week I am going surfing. This week is very chill compared to the last few months. I planned it that way. I want to feel relaxed when I leave for vacation. In one week I will be here. It does’t seem real yet but I’m trying to imagine. 🙂 * Little acorns, one at a time. Storing up nuts for the winter.
