what are you wearing? i dunno. i just put stuff on.

I wore cute tights today. It was sunny bright outside. Sabrina’s Mum sent these tights from Hawaii. My Mum said she is hoping to send something from NY when they stop there on the big sailing adventure. If anything I hope she picked up something from a second hand store. She’s got great style and always knows good things for my sister and I. MISS YOU MUM. Call me when you get phone or internet. It was quite windy out today as well… I went to an ofice for a meeting and heard “oh look at you” then “you are like a Blossom but in 2010”. I forget that most office settings don’t wear funky outfits with hats and tights and scarves and stuff all different colours. I forgo and I am glad that I forgot. You should forget too. Dress fun and be unique. Working from home, I feel is the best thing for personal stle. Mind you, my room is messier than ever and I find motivation to clean it is nonexistent. Everytime I leave the house I throw together a mish-mash of things and accessories, hats, scarves and jewels galore. Every time I leave the house I am in costume, I am playing a part, I am me. This is my life. You are always someone when you leave the house, you are someone different on Monday morning than you were on Sunday morning (especially if hungover!). Your Friday afternoon self is different from holiday dinner self or your Sunday with Nana self. We are changing all the time. Lets hope it’s always for the better. gosh darnit, somebody pinch me.

Was up early. Can’t sleep in anymore. It’s like I’ll be miss something. I like to be busy, work hard. It’s a crazy cycle of inspiration, the more you do the more you can do. The guy beside me needs to STFU & stop talking so damn loud, honestly. Itunes – Days like This Spinna Club Remix. I escape. This is the song, listen to it and keep going. Today has been fun so far. Made it to my meeting today, late. Cabbie dropped me at 333 when I needed to be at 33. RAN. Yes ran in my coyboy boots and little black dress holding folder + purse with laptop two blocks from Jarvis to Yonge Street. ON THE HOTTEST SWEATY ASS DAY. I was so hot when I got there. Thank god I sat with Miranda at first so I could wipe my forehead with kleenex like a sweaty warthog. Imagine Pumba and Timba mixed together. Yeah. That went well. After I cooled down during meeting I went and had a dress contest. 1, 2 or 3? DRESS 1 DRESS 2 DRESS 3 They were all pretty cute. I like dresses. Short ones. They are my most fav thing to wear ever. Boots, short dress, smile, silverish jewels. I picked dress 3. It is shorter in the front than back, rayon and elegant feeling. It sways in the wind and I feel like someone is about to take my photo. On my feet are vintage Capezio cowboy boots. I need to plan a fall swap clothing swap and invite you ladies over. Someone remind me! So I changed. I have to be at something at ther Roots Store on Bloor for 6pm then dinner at 7:30 then home. I really like home. I am physically ready for Fall…

my fav android market downloads

These are my fav apps I’ve downloaded to my Motorola Milestone android phone mini-computer from Telus. Figured it was about time I shared them with you. By far the coolest thing I’ve ever seenon anyone’s phone – Google Sky Map. With Google Sky Map for Android you have the magic to discover, view and search the sky by pointing your phone to outerspace. It’s keeps me up at night, stargazing. I searched The Southen Cross, a star constallation I have tattooed on my back, my very first tattoo. You can see it in the southern Hemisphere near New Zealand & Australia. Last night, I found it from my bed. Makes the world seem small, and me there looking at it, bigger than life. I don’t really play games that much but two that I’ve kept are Labyrinth and Jewels . They both kinda make you smarter which makes me happy, win-win. I like Foursquare too, obviously. I use Compas & Metal Detector for fun sometimes. I have the Gaga’s Monster app and Lady Gaga ringtones too. My phone rings bad romance, love love love. Some others I use for blogging are: WordPress for Android – great for bobile blogging, not that many options but good enough Fx Camera – Photo settings like Toy Cameras, Polandroid, Fisheye, Symetrical, Warhol Camera Illusion – heaps of different setting I don’t really get but on turns yout photo into a drawing. Love that. Not sure if i’ve told you a zillion times or not, but I realy love this phone, its’ the best I’ve ever had. Police light is pretty badass, check this out…

DO YOU HAVE A GUN MISS?

So yesterday I had a really intersting experience going through customs before leaving YYZ. I was very smily and dressed kinda cute as I approaced the dreaded security check at the airport. It always scares me for some reason, there is just something about all the turnstiles and other crowd control measures that puts me on edge! I do understand how important these security checks are though, and after reading this website about security turnstile here I probably know much more about airport security and turnstiles than the average person! Hence, I was extremely pleasant as I emptied all my gear intot the tray, laptop, shoes, small bottled liquids. I was pretty excited to step into the body scanner. It was my first time flying since this had been implemented a few months ago after the underwear bomber. No problems with the body scan but as I turned around it seemed a couple security guards were puzzled by something in my suitcase. First thought, they saw my ‘Hitachi massager‘ and they’re gonna give me a hard time, second thought, my corsets with metal boning have them confused. Neither was the case and as one security guard after another, followed by several police officers went for a look, I began to get scared. WTF are they looking at? I tried to be positive about the whole thing and deffinitley not get emotional. Crying would only make this worse, “keep smiling & don’t look scared” I told myself. A secutiry guard and police officer begun filling out paper work and the questions started coming. Where do I live, what do I do, where was I going & why. They could tell I was getting worried and told me to stay calm, so I tried as my hands were getting real sweaty and…

I’m recently watched Objectified, a doc about objects and design. I’ve been waiting, wanting to watch this and sit in my room for ages. Me, my bed, my gadgets; laptop, camera, flipcam, phone, monitor, sketchbook, reading book, memory cards, usb/wall charger. Objects of my affection. his name was robertico, king of the plane

There’s a Cuban hot shot on my plane sitting diagonally behind us in First Class. I’m not sure what exactly he does but judging by the dated yet very high tech HD camcorder and 21” Toshiba on his lap, I imagine its something to do with film or entertainment. He’s wearing Prada glasses and sitting beside a glamour lady with heaps of gold jewelery and makeup. She is clipping his cuticles in their seats while one of the attendants dotes on him. They are first to get drinks up here. I have some type of Cuban orange pop that is $2 (even first class!). She feeds him a mixed drink with a straw while chomping on chips. A male flight attendant watches the camcorder with ear plugs and continuously laughs his head off. I’m working on interview questions for features on Techvibes and Ad Girl. They’re gonna come out just before Toronto Life’s February issue containing my photo. I know it’s going to be a good year, 2010, I can feel it in my bones. I look over, the in-flight manicure continues. He was obnoxious and we tried to guess who he was. Before exiting the place in Havana I asked an attendant, turns out, he’s a famous Cuban comedian. How funny. Not. I’ve got so many photos to upload but I don’t know the internet situation there. I prey for free wi-fi everywhere [fingers crossed]. The air is warm, the sun is setting, and I’m in Cuba for Christmas. OMG.

i’m going to design more stuff next year

This is gonna be a good week. I can feel it. I had a really good weekend. I spent most of it at my house. I got a new sketch book & pastels. I made some really special one of a kind pieces of jewelry. I’ve got a plan for a productive work week and it all ends with Friday night dinner in NYC. Today is one of those days, one of those that I think ‘wow, I’m really excited to be living this life out’. This, this is my real life. I’m so glad I write it down. Imagine all the things it helps me remember that I don’t write down? That’s the real best part. Posting a photo or update of what I did or where I’m going, then, remembering all the the stuff that happened that day or that party. It’s fun. I’m really happy I’ve kept doing this. I will always remember that day I started, it was sunny. I love that it’s documented, an augmented reality of photos & videos… I’m writing history, I’m writing my own.

I checked in on a friend, a babe who blogs. We are one day apart and both get auto-tweetted horoscopes. I don’t always read my horrorscope (stupid word, usually positive when I read them) but sometimes I do. My birthday is May 8th and I am a Taurus. Did you know? Would you have guessed differently? The jewelry factory has opened up for one of a kind and customs. I love making stuff. You can now see a bunch of Toronto Blog Girls all in one spot. Pretty cool. I’ve been totally excited for many days in a row, now that I look back a month. Weirdo. Totally. Note: Is every store having massive sales? I keep getting discount emails? her world is rainbows, unicorns and flying stars

Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. The weekend, yesterday, today. What more could you ask for than Spring in November? Summer in December? Ah, a girl can dream can’t she? Yes, a girl can dream. I absolutely love walking to work in the morning and home again at night. No more TTC, just me, an outfit and my cute little boots on the pavement. I really need to put some music on my ipod. I’ve been so wrapped up dreaming of iphone, I forgot about the little guy. Couple things to let you know… Just added a review to Chick Advisor, check it out. I’ll be at the National Ballet tomorrow night for wine tasting (thanks for the invite). You’re welcome to join me, there’s still tickets. I’ve been listening to some pretty rad tunes lately including the new album from Yacht (who I love) and Adriane Lake (her album). I picked this little guy up on the weekend. Don’t you want it? I thought it represented me well. The store is Queen and Dovercourt and they’ve got a little sale on right now. I’ve started making some really snazzy jewels myself. All custom made and all one of a kind. I’ll post photos soon. Two friends were in the Financial Post yesterday, check out Sarah from Sprouter and Mike from Scribble Live. my two mums

When I was growing up Mum had a best friend named Pat Hope. They’re still best friends. They lived around the corner from us. Pat only had one son but no daughters. To us, she was like a fairy god mother. She was our second mum. She would pick up girly things on her travels like jewelry and dresses. She always had sweet treats with her. She had a room full of bunny things. She dressed beautifully and had great style. Her house was always beautiful and decorated better than any other…for every occasion. She would host elegant dinner parties with a long list of guests. Snacks on every table. She rules, my second mum. They came to visit Jenie and I after work. Was excited to show Mum new comp and helmet. She was really happy. Had some wine and chatted while the Y&R was on. Found out today that it was Dad that got Mum into watching it before I was born. Dad picked my name from the show. Casey was Nikki Newman’s sister, a hot doctor. It’s great having them over for a visit. Thanks for making the trip guys. Love you!
