TIFF: Guest Starring on Edgy Veg, Birks Jewellers Suite, The Iceman Film

Yep, TIFF is still in full force for the next few days. Doesn’t it seem like forever? Wore a cute outfit yesterday. Schoolgirl skirt is hand painted by Beaucoup Fashion House, Vans ‘Sophie’ shoes, shirt was a gift, Nella Bella Avalon bag. Went uptown to shoot w/ Candice for her show on Coral TV, The Edgy Veg. She made a delicious face mask and slopped it on me. The episode comes out Thursday so make sure you subscribe to Coral by then. There is lots of laughing in this one. Then we eat the mask. I was invited to the beautiful Birks Jewellers suite in the new Shangri-La hotel to preview the new Muse collection. It was diamond heaven! Thanks to Fiji Water & Birks for having me. It was a nice break in the afternoon. Glass of champagne at 3pm really takes the edge off! I loved the rings, especially the costume huge ones and the Canadian double diamond leaf. The ombre pearls are also incredibly beautiful. Perhaps I can borrow for a huge event sometime? Hint, hint. Besos to the team for my gift, feeling the love! Saw the film ‘The IceMan‘ with Barbie in the evening. It was excellent. Michael Shannon is an incredible actor. There was a star studded cast including Ray Liotta, Winona, James Franco, and Chris Evans. They were all there after to talk about the film. Seeing the actors in real life really makes you appreciate their hard work, talent, and career.  There is another screening today at noon. If you can make it to the Rush Line, go. You will be glad you did. Details here. This afternoon I’m catching the Bill Murray film Hyde Park on Husdon then scooting over to Jean Machine to be styled for an outfit for the…

TIFF Day 2: JUST THE TIFF!

This might be my favourite episode yet. We filmed it yesterday in Yorkville. The blondie with me is my sister, Jenie. It was hilarious dressing the babe in the Diesel store. The part that didn’t get on camera is me asking for the “no shirt collection”. Ha! There are so many things happening this weekend. I went to about five parties last night and got a tattoo. Mega huge thank you to the team at RockIt for a great time at the Drake and introducing me to the Sailor Jerry team. It was so much FUN. Have an awesome day! <3 CASIE Like, comment, share subscribe! A TIFF Test of My Patience & Awesome TIFF Video

Holy cow. Remember when I said it would be a miracle to make it though the day, welllllll…. GoDaddy had a server issued this morning which affected casiestewart.com crashing my site so for just over and hour. Minor heart attachhhhh. My sisters phone is not charging so I thought she totally ditched us for the Coral Shoot. My printer ran out of ink. I had to take a bus because of Spadina construction, A BUS. I made it to Yorkville only 15 min late and have a super cute outfit. My sister was there waiting with Shannon (producer) and I had that portable Bookstone charger for her phone. It all worked out ok. I even made it home for Young & The Restless before Fashion’s Night Out. Anxiety level now at a manageable level. Shirt was brought over today by Beaucoup Fashion House, shorts & collar H&M, belt vintage, shoes Jeffrey Campbell Lita’s. What doesn’t kill you makes you sweaty and stressed stronger! Hope your day is good. Love ya, CASE This video by my girls Jen McNeely & Becca Lemire for She Does the City is HILARIOUS! Happy TIFF! SDTC at TIFF 2012 – A Taste of the Glamour

TIFF DAY 1 – Tastemakers Lounge & Swarovski 007 Red Carpet

Whoa. It’s here. Today might busiest day in my 2012 calendar. Not. Even. Kidding. If I can make all my appointments and events I will question my humanity. Am I robot/alien? You will never know. (Shhh you in the back there, keep your secrets!) I have so much gratitude to give for my sister being PA (Production Assistant) on my show today, BMW sponsoring drivers for our Fashion’s Night Out team, tech related media interview in the AM, so may awesome events, my hair growing (don’t laugh), having my nails done (this is serious), and my bestie Lozzie Lauren O’Nizz being invited to all the same things as me. Thank you universe. Yesterday I went to media day at the TIFF Tastemakers Lounge put on by Rock-It Promo and I was SPOILED. Rotten! TIFF is truly more fun than a birthday or holidays because all the media friends are out, everyone is receiving gifts, and celebrating. Films take the first place for TIFF but trust me that fashion is a verrrrry close second. This is the eighth annual Tastemakers Lounge, it’s a Canadian gifting suite hosted during the Toronto International Film Festival. It brings local and international guests to indulge in exceptional products that Tastemakers Lounge is known for.  This was my third year and perhaps the best! Scroll my Instagram Photos: This is a sample (yes, really) of what celebrities will be getting at the Tastemakers Lounge this year. I feel a bit bad showing off but I made a care package for Barbie, gave a Le Dolci cupcake to the hotel concierge, Pop Chips to my concierge, and will treat Mum & Jenie too. Some of my favs are the  zillion nail designs from Kiss Products, amazing arc touch mouse from Yorkdale/Microsoft (that I am now using), 4 scents…

TIFF Thursday @ The Drake Hotel: Overdrive Party

What are you doing Thursday night? Not on the VIP list and/or over whelmed by Facebook invites to all kinds of things you aren’t sure will be cool or not? Don’t worry. You are not alone. There is a zillion bajillion things happening on Thursday, September 6th. My friends at The Drake Hotel & RockIt Promo have an awesome party that brings together glam girls and the bad boys of cinema. Party starts at @9PM and is sponsored by Stella Artois + Sailor Jerry. Performances over the night include The Darcys, Still Life Still , and Dinosaur Bones. The Sailor Jerry mobile tattoo shop (so cool) will be out front doing free tattoos and hurrrrrcuts. My goal is to make it there, avoid the line, and a little more ink. My half sleeve arms is all traditional theme so this is PERFECT. The Drake will for sure have a line but it will be worth waiting based on my (parting) experience. There will be a slew of ‘Drake Overdrive’ Cocktails with some named after  Steve McQueen, James Dean, and Dennis Hopper. I named my Macbook James Dean. So Sexy. Once I took a great photo of Brock Mclaughlin where he looked JUST like Jakes Dean. Here we go… that was a fun night. Having a blog is a like your very own reference library! If you are looking for something else… My homies over at BestFan has partnered up with A&R Report for their first ever music Showcase at Hard Rock, Yonge-Dundas. It’s all Toronto artists and proceeds from the evening will be going towards Musicounts, Canada’s music education charity. Deets below or see the full list of performers here. Don’t forget Fashion’s Night Out too. Or the Glitz & Glamour TIFF Gala for Canadian Breast Cancer at Arcadian Court. I hope you make it out to something RAD. This is not the night you wanna be on the couch. Happy TIFF…

Media Preview: X-Men: Gordon Smith Exhibit at TIFF Bell Lightbox

[insert Jaws music]  It’s coming! TIFF is a super exciting time of year for the city of Toronto. So many international people, celebrities, films, events, and business deals. I’ve got a few things in my calendar already as it’s less than 25 days away. Today I went to the media preview of the X-Men: Gordon Smith Exhibit at TIFF Bell Lightbox. It was so cool! I’m a big X-Men fan despite not talking about comics that much. Tried to get a good 360 for y’all to see the exhibit but it was dark and there are restrictions on what you can photograph. Looks like this but bigger. If you click on the photo it will take you to 360 website for an interactive view. Gordon Smith is an Ontario native and thirty-year veteran in the film industry who has worked on some MAYJAH films (X-Men, Platoon, Natural Born Killers) . His Imdb is stacked. Mine will get crazy one day I hope! The contact lenses, so much variety. Skin of Mystique uses silicone prosthetics that could be applied directly to the skin. Has a life-like texture. It took 12 hours for each shooting day and four makeup artists to glue them onto Rebecca Romijn’s skin, then apply paint, powder, and makeup. This is the pattern. Nightcrawler had plaster moulds and they used computer graphics paired with real actors wearing 3D silicone prosthetics to make the characters life-like. The scarification on his skin, which represents his sins used Maori moko tattoo as inspiration. I always knew I had a special connection to this movie. Maori are native New Zealanders and Gordon Smith is Canadian. Anna Paquin who plays Rogue is  Kiwi/Canadian like me too! I love Wolverine. Such a babe. They used plastic blades for most the movie but these are actual metal and…

Festival Music House! MOD Club! TIFF!

Wednesday night was the third and final night of the TIFF Festival Music House. Casie posted about the second night earlier (here) and last night I moseyed over to the MOD Club to party it up and take some photos of the oh so amazing bands! Pictured above and below? Parlovr! They’re from Montreal and dreamy. They whip their hair around and are super funny. I want to go on a road trip with them. We’d go to lots of funny tacky tourist traps and diners, then write fast songs to dance to about it all after! Next up was Hey Rosetta! from Halifax. Their album Seeds is up for this year’s Polaris Music Prize! They’re amazing live, and one of my favourites! You for sure should check them out. Woohoo! Following was The Rural Alberta Advantage! So fun so fun so fun! The Arkells brought the fantastic night of music to a close. So much awesome. Thanks Art & Crafts and Rock-it Promotions for putting on this crazy shindig!

Diet Coke TIFF Stay Extraordinary Gala at The Hoxton

Picked up this hat from Fashion Crimes for last night’s Diet Coke event. This was the social media party of TIFF. Everyone and their blog was there. Read about it on The Grid.  Lots of Tweets and Facebook happening on scene and heaps of familiar faces.  Was nice to meet a few peeps for the first time who enjoy my blog & Tweets. HI GUYS! The Diet Coke team did a great job of turning the Hoxton into a Gala-like venue. Thanks for the pic @DietCoke I didn’t take my camera but Raymi posted a heap of photos here. Will add Coke’s photos once they’re live. Have an awesome day 🙂

He was beautiful and charming in person, just like in my dreams. Mega swoon. Bono, Jason Reitman, Gerard Butler, Juliette Lewis, Jon Hamm and heaps more celebs were there too. Thanks for another great party George. CBC Live tweeted that we were there along with all the celebs. How cool is that Mum?! Finally met Amber Mac. Her name comes up all the time, she said the same, although we had never met in person before. Super nice girl. Been following her for years. Sarah Was super cute and said “ahhh my fav bloggers all together”. Her post is here. More blonde blogging babes! Lynsie is covering Fashion Week in London. Congrats girl!
