the hailwood tights – green & blacks

I get asked about these tights often. Adrian Hailwood gave them to me last year at NZ Fashion Week. I love them! This is what they look like up close: They’re all one piece. I need a serger, maybe I could make them? Maybe I should dedicate one whole day to NOT internetting and actually making stuff. Like remember Zoey? I have heaps and heaps of art projects piled up in my mind. I wish I had a cottage on the island or a boat with all my art things on it. I would sail into the lake and make things. Then, after I created a mass amount of those things with paint, marker & glitter everywhere I would come back and share it with the world. Back to the tights, I’m thinking about getting some over here. Would you be interested? BTW Great photo Isaac 🙂

nice little saturday

Woke up feeling real creative and walked straight over to Zoey. It was sewing time. I fixed up a couple things that needed fixing, hemmed a dress and made some alterations to an old jem of Mum’s for the Smirnoff India party next weekend. Got some healthy groceries and supplies for detox week. I wanna slim down over the next two weeks before I’m on the beach in San Juan and LA. I am so excited. Gonna go to Ikea with a friend this afternoon and then to his new photogrpahy studio. Staying in tonight. I’ve been staying home and getting lots done this week. It feels really good. Making up for all the time I’m gonna be away next month. Skyped with Mum from the boat yesterday, they are in Charleston, SC now and finally have good enough internet to video. I miss you so much Mum. Can’t wait to visit you in the Bahamas mama. How cute is this we made the same face. Love! Hope you are enjoying the day 🙂

Nice little Saturday planned.Rented a bunch of movies, loaded up on snacks and not leaving the house till tomorrow. This break from the city is wonderful. Dad has a stellar collection of vintage sewing machines. They’re pretty neat to look at. Last night’s wedding reception was fun, more about that later. I’ve got a movie to watch and the couch is calling my name. Rainy day chills FTW! I’m so serious here. haha. Seriously hanging out.

I have sprinklers! Wanna come play? Guess what. Video making Casie is back in action. I’m about to make this wee pants jumper into a shorts onesie with my sewing maching. Zoey Ng time. It’s DANG HOT out today. Shorts onesie is totes necessary. I have heaps of energy today, like, more than normal. I reckon the heaps of sleep I got this weekend helped me right out. The Toronto Mayoral race is annoying to me, watching them dog on each other. Urgh. Just about as annoying as all the times I’ve asked you to vote for the Virgin Provocateur contest. That’s kinda like mayor too, Mayor of F-U-N! 🙂 I hope it thunderstorms today. Summer rain dancing! Stay cool kittens xo

I read a really good article by Alexandra Samuel called “Lady Gaga and the transcendent narcissism of social media“. I love her. You know that. She inspires me so much. I stuck to plan and cleaned rearranced my whole room. It’s lovely outside and I could go to the pool but I am to antsy to relax. I wanna do stuff. Once my room is cleaned I can pull out the sketch book and get on the projects. I love being creative and having designs that no one else has, it makes me feel totally unique. I’ve also been looking at machine embroidery designs and seeing how I can create some of my own designs to put onto clothes I already have to personalise them. Being crafty is great. I would love to wear some Canadian designers when I go to New Zealand for FW. I’m not about to go out and buy a heap but if someone out there is it interested email me. Otherwise, I’ll be decked in my own line. I was putting myself through Uni when I lived in Australia so I didn’t have much money. I needed to work in order to make it through the end of the year. I got called Cas and my BFF there was Cheryl aka Shazza. I made a clothing brand called Cas&Shazz. It looked kinda like this CAS+SHAZZ. I wrote it on couple shirts and made it on this neat sweater. I wanted a logo you could recoginize from far away, like Nike. My idea was ‘an ass you can recognize’. I used to write CASIE on stuff all the time. i love this city.

Rannie took this beautiful photo from our balcony before out shoot yesterday. We took photos for the Vitamin Water Canada blog and in his 140 project. Stay tuned for that. Good day yesterday mostly around the house working on a couple upcoming projects. Went for an evening stroll with Sabrina to Bellwoods and visited a friends roof patio for some wine and sunset. Stopped by CTS on the way, my fav shop. They had a bunch of items that were $1 and I picked up a couple vintage dresses I can totally do a Pretty in Pink switch to. I’m giving Zoey (my sewing machine) a workout this winter. Heading to the Fairlie Agency for a little co-working woith Carly-Anne today. Haircut at 4 with Darren, think I’m gonna buzz it one last time for summer. Dinner with Jeremy and some friends tonight, we finally all get to meet his crush. Loser karaoke after that but I’m gonna have to call it an early night. I still haven’t packed for Bud Camp and we leave at 7am. Check out this vid I make a cameo in by My City Lives. it’s a beautiful day in the neighbourhood

Cleaned room yesterday. New vintage desk by my window looks out over the lake and into the sunshine across the island. Prefect spot for sewing, drawing, writing, creating. Hot coffee and in a flash off to Ikea. New bed in my future, today is the day. Clean sheets make for a good sleep. Meeting cute boy in the afternoon hope he says yes to a park hang. Wanna lay in the sun, the grass. Makeover last night on my Tumblr blog. Go look, it’s a collection of pretty photos thousands long and over 100 pages. I like pretty things. Don’t you? i’m sew in love with you zoe

I’m heading to MTV for The Hills to meet a bunch of peeps. Threaded the needles and had my first sew tonight. It feel so good to sew again. I used to make stuff all the time, since I was little. Sometimes I made clothes for Jenie. I had a business in grade 6 where I made & sold gym bags with drawstring. They mde a rule it was manditory to have a gym bag and I saw an opportunity there. Might of even been grade 5 in Mrs Rolts class. Mum, can you verify that? I’ve named by sewing maching Zoey, Zoey Ng. Now I made things and I call it zoeyng. I am so happy. I don’t even care if it rains for days because I can stay inside making sun dresses and beautiful things so that when it is sunny, we can look stylish. I’m in love and I haven’t even made anything yet.

Look who’s in town! Makes me feel like doing some street art of my own. Stencil & spray can tonight anyone? Tee hee. I joke. No, I’m serious. No I’m not. Yes I am. No, maybe. I need a break from computer. Mum is so sweet she said getting me a sewing machine gives me a different outlet for my creativity other than blog/computer. I love her for that. It’s true really, I’m gonna go crazy (crazier) if I don’t get off the damn computer a bit. Am I really saying this? Yes I am. I spend all day spewing content to the world through computer. There’s more to life, here’s outside. and bike rides. Good thing I can blog from my phone. I’m really looking forward to Florida at the end of the month; 5 days, no work and all sunshine. Yessss!

you can’t rain on my parade

Good Morning! I feel like I could be a radio show today. I am happy to be at work. It’s a beautiful day might even thunderstorm later. The ride in is what I have been missing for the past two weeks. Breaks fixed. Wore my helmet and felt good about it. Smarter, like it keeps my thoughts all bunched up close together and in a jumble and now I sit here and they all flow out like waterfalls fast how I like them to. Held my nose past the slaughterhouse, stinks bad man. Gross. NO strikers anymore. Good thing. Saw a soda pop van covered in astro-turf grass. Breakfast Television has lost my interest but I like the news and weather of CP24. Hot today still humid. Thunderstorm would be nice. I like to ride through the puddles. Dad’s got a sewing machine for me and I’ve got heaps of fabric and vintage patterns at home. Really excited. Twestival Local is coming up September 12th 2009, mark your calendar. In Twestival Global raised over $250,000.00 for charity: water. It was really fun. Twitter has grown so much since February. I hope it rains when I bike home.

1992 Fashion = Love & Passion

Last week I picked up this book from a second hand book store on Queen Street. As a child I often spent time sewing with mum at the kitchen table. She used to make all of our dance costumes for competitions and recitals. As for myself, I’d come up with some interesting fashion designs and sometimes dress up my little sister in my ‘unique’ styles. The book has a great introduction to designing & drawing and the best part, it is from 1992! Second hand book stores are so full of life and wonder, you can go on an adventure, travel in time or visit countries & royals. I’m looking forward to the winter to bust out the sewing machine and create some vintage classic, 1992 inspired pieces!
