The Art of Awesome 2012

Ok, I made that conference up but it might be real one day. If The Art of Awesome happens I will be on stage speaking about awesomism as a lifestyle. Actually, the Art of Awesome is happening every single day, you have to live it. Took Sheryl, Dan, Wendy and Teresa out for lunch at Joe Badali’s. It was great to connect with everyone. Haven’t seen Sheryl in a while and man I love her. She was my boss in my first ever job in Toronto post Uni. I learned heaps from her. Wore jeans today, craaaa-zaaaay! This is very rare. I was send these Levis when I worked with them last year to write about crafting your personal brand. Here for about another 45 min then heading home for a call & to charge my batteries. Thanks to the team at The Art Of for our tickets. Another great event!

Sapporo Sound Den meets Toronto at Cheval

This week I was treated like (social) royalty by the Sapporo team. Thank you. Arrived with my crew to be walked in right away and set up with a booth fully stocked with Goose and buckets of beer. Stay classy. Spice up your beer drinking by using a champagne glass. Party tips from a pro. Black fortune cookies. My fortune. I wore a turban for part of the night. Not a REAL turban like my friend here, mine was all in the name of style, from the church of Forever 21. haha (First thing I ever bought there. I’d not been to one before last weekend!) Jacks, my darling senior publicist babe for Global Television. ILU. Team awesome. Been a fan of the Sapporo for years so was a pleasure to meet the team. I’ll make sure these vouchers go to good use. Let’s hang out again some time 🙂

coming home, nothing quite like it mama.

Mmm, donut & coffee. What a trip. Getting to Florida isn’t that difficult. I’ve been blessed with great travel the last year so this time, when I encountered delay, after delay, I wasn’t too upset. (Except when I cried on the way there and missed a fancy dinner with my sister & friends.) This was leaving Florida, good sign I reckon, C8. My fav number is 8. Picked up Fast Company (mostly because of the Conan cover) and learned about these rad wooden surf boards. I love surfing. I love the ocean. I love summer. I love…affirmation girl? Bye bye beachy. Mama loves Miami. Home, wahhh. Get me off this thing… just kidding. Look, something shiny out the window. REMEMBER THIS. The reason I picked up Fast Company aside from Conan was this article “The 100 Most Creative People in Business”. I strive to be here one day. Jack Dorsey, (one of the Twitter Founders) is #4 on the list. He is a cool guy. Listened to a few of his talks. There’s a couple good ones on itunesU from Stanford. I totally love Conan. He is so funny, combine that with his divine creativity and you’ve got a whole lot of awesome. I reckon he’s a cool Dad. Does he have kiddios? Alex Kipman from Microsoft (brain behind Kinect) made the list too. I would LOVE a Kinect. So fun. I kick ass at the dancing game. Challenge me anytime! I recently wrote an article for Levis about Crafting Your Persoal Brand. It came out this week and I’m pretty proud of it. I shared some tips that will help you (or anyone) to build and showcase their talents online. I hope you will check it out. “Casie Stewart knows a thing or two about leaving an online footprint. Recognized by Klout as one of Toronto’s top tweeters and bloggers, she has plenty of tips on how you can leverage social media channels as an invaluable element to your personal brand.” Here are some tips on building your personal brand to help establish yourself online: Set a goal: Make a plan for your brand. What are you passionate about? What do you want to be known for? Start a blog: Use WordPress, Tumblr, Blogger or Posterous to create a free home for your online activity. Find a mentor: Find someone who is doing what you want to do and introduce yourself, learn from them and get inspired. TGIF: Twitter, Google, Internet, Facebook: Create profiles for yourself online and update them regularly with things that align with your brand. Get Involved: Seek out events related to your passion and get involved by volunteering. This is a great way to grow your brand, meet others and learn from experts. I’ve been building my personal brand online for over five years. At first, no one read my blog, and I had no followers on Twitter. We all have to start somewhere but have the potential to go anywhere. In the words of Napoleon Hill, “What the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”
