This one time I sent a really mean valentine.

When I was in primary school this boy Adam really liked me. I was in grade 5, Mrs. Rolt’s class and he was in grade 4. I did not like Adam. I wasn’t a romantic then like I am now. (Mum is going to have a giggle when she reads this.) I made a bunch of valentines on our old computer to give to friends in my class and around school. They were quite lovely, beautiful actually,  I hand coloured the hearts by hand with pencil crayon. (This was back when printer’s were black & white and  the paper had holes on the sides.) I wrote recipients name & class number on valentines and cupid would deliver them by end of day. Well, my valentine for Adam was REALLY special. I coloured his in with special care and signed my name. Before sending I wrote “I HATE YOU” in bold pencil. I hated him. He was really mean to me all the time and I was really upset. It’s not nice to be picked on. As a creative person & writer this is how I dealt with the bully. It was not really the right way to deal, but, hey, I was in grade five and I didn’t know any better. The valentine did NOT go over well. I had a pending application to the leadership council and my Mum got a ring form the school and  was told how “that type of behaviour would not be tolerated” and I should not be a leader on the council.  Mum explained how he had been bullying me and I was upset and I was just a kid and I was a creative person and I had hurt feelings. I got let off the hook and joined the leadership council the following year. Adam was so sad at the…

I’m a model you know what I mean (part deux)

It’s heart month and I’m feeling lovely. I have heaps going on this month and next and hopefully till the end of time. I love being busy.  The most hustle in Winter means more fun for summer I reckon. On Feb. 20th I’m in a fashion show during Ottawa Fashion Week with a whole bunch of famous Canadians. Yeah, ME! Crazy, eh?  The show is for Unicef and the other models are Gabrielle Miller (Corner Gas/Call Me Fitz), Rosey Edeh (ET Canada), Tré Armstrong (So You Think You Can Dance Canada), Erica Wark (CBC’s Steven and Chris), Leesa Butler (f-list.ca), Elizabeth Manley (Olympic Silver Medalist), Gail McInnes (TDot TV), Cory Lee (Degrassi), TL Rader (Professional Ballroom Dancer), and Solange Tuyishime (UNICEF Canada Ambassador). I’m not sure who I’m wearing yet but I’m hoping for something really glamourous. We’re taking the train to our nations capital and staying at a hotel for the weekend. I’ve never taken a long train ride and I know there is wifi so like, that’s the part I’m most excited for. WHAT A NERD. Oh well! I’ve done heaps of fashion shows in my life (so far) so walking the runway for charity is a total pleasure. I was going to post the most obvious song but I did once already so I started looking for model songs. Then I looked at models and ended up at this, which is sexy, with models, and right in time for the superbowl. I’m actually going to a real super bowl party on Sunday. I’ve never been to one before! I don’t think? No. Do you see now why I love Valfre so much? I always hug my besties when I see them. Hugs are good.  I must rush to a fancy steak house lunch presentation for a client which will then be followed by another lunch with a…

I woke up to a feeling, every little thing has meaning.

Went to a really cool Boston bar last night called Lucky’s. They have a drink named after me called Firecracker. Omg it was so good. I think I had too many. Preparing for a 2pm hangover. My flight today was cancelled so I’m getting home later tonight then planned. Bob and I are going for breakfast and I’m going to get the greasiest thing I can. Extra time at the airport (cause of delay) is good for getting work done. I’m sure I’ll have a breaking life report by then! Happy Monday. Keep fit & have fun xoxo

live your life as it’s meant to be

First day for a while it’s not been sunny out. I find myself to be very productive on these days. Dive right into my computer! This song is a good motivator. I’m on the edge of glory, I’m on the edge! I wanna do the EDGE WALK on the CN Tower. Hair is back to a nice blonde. I really wanna grow it out this winter. It’s a mega process. Had it short for so long now. If I focus I can do it. I mean, make it through the awkward stages! Got any tips? Luckily I love wearing hats. Really loving new desk setup. Mac things are so pretty. My Dodo Case for iPad is totally busted. Basically a scrap of bamboo. I really need to EM them about that. Got a new Motorola DEFY yesterday adn I’m happily back on the Telus Mobile Network. Doing a photo shoot tonight with Lauren, Raymi, Anna and some babes for PinkMafia. Had a wicked sleep last ngiht so hopefully I don’t look tired! Off to a camera shop & hopefully will have some good news about  new project by end of day. Make it a great one 🙂 * Loving Spotify and title is from Mumford & Sons ‘The Cave’. So good.

i’m a model you know what i mean

Oh yeah. This week I’ve got a fashion show. Crystal Light contacted me and flattered me by  saying I’m a “leading Canadian fashionista and social media maven” then asked me to be in their fashion show for the Crystal Light Purse Challenge. I get to meet a personal shopper and have a shopping spree at Holt Renfrew. OMGaga. I love fashion & style as you know. Remember last year when I was hanging out with NYC’s finest in fashion Nicole Miller & Derek Fabulous. Other babes in the show are Anita Sharma, Valerie Stachurski, Karla Moy,  Erin Blaskie,  Lisa Charleyboy, & Cammi Pham. Fashion show takes place Tuesday at Design Exchange, Stacey Mckenzie preps me for the runway, then I do hair and make-up. Gonna be fun!

good date movie, good girl movie, highly relevant: #textuality

The other day I had the pleasure of attend the Canadian premiere of TEXTUALITY at the Bell Lightbox. Man, they have comfy chairs there. Go see a movie if you have not yet. Marc & Liam did a great job of creating this movie. I was also pleased to see my friend, the lovely Anna Cyzon as part of the cast. She’s a darling and she ALSO got to make out with the Absolute Hunk, Smith Jarred aka Jason Lewis! Naturally, I asked her about it. “Filming with J. Lewis was a blast. he was great. I’ve bee a SACT for years so when I was told about the part I was like “wait, you mean you need me to.. ugh yeah im in!” I’m a big fan of things Canadian that have to do with technology and especially when it’s a RomCom (my fav kind of movie). I found it to be funny, cute and relevant to the way dating & relationships are these days. All the txting, Facebooking, Tweeting, creeping, things just ain’t what they used to be. I can only imagine what it is like to date me. I mean, you never know where or when I’m going to message you or (gasp) pick up the phone and actually call. Anna you are so cute. I asked her what her fav scene was: “Food flight scene was fun. First few takes we played it safe then it got real messy! I remember Warren Sonoda yelling, ” more whip cream!” The jacuzzi scene was prob my fave. We shot that at the Soho penthouse, it was freezing but we had bubbly … it got nice and steamy ;)” Check out the trailer and go see it with your besty or ask a hot babe you’ve been creeping. won a pink buddha for good debating. #swmt

Say hi to the babes, Keri, Brown Barbie, O’Nizz. Oh you know who ate a few of these. (Clue: starts with CASE, ends in EEEEE) Is social media more art or science? I debated ART. To me, social media IS an art. Sure you can get ‘formula’ for peak times to tweet or try to follow a ‘method’ but that doesn’t mean shit if you’re not creative. If you’re not artistic with your message (whatever or wherever it you’re selling it), people ain’t gonna buy it. You will be more successful in this new industry if you take risks and be artistic. Everything I have done/do to build my brand is driven by creativity. Debate winner: Rob Campbell aka @smojoe! We didn’t win the mass debate but we DO have cool blogs. michaelnus.com | this girl| keriblog.com I’m talking about #roboTO at this very moment. Look at that passion. It’s a party coming up that I started so we can all make robot costumes and have fun. Stay tuned. That’s how I won the final round of the debate. There was a creepy dude at the end that hijacked the whole conversation and mentioned 3D p0rn. So weird. Mugshot here. Sabrina looked at me from across the room and said “I want the pink buddha”. Then I won it for her. She derves it. He’s at our house laughing right now. This is so very cute, girl had a nice outfit. Proud of you Moffitt, brother. Look at everyone smiling in this photo. That’s good stuff right there. Then we went home and had a girl party. In other news, THIS pretty much makes MY LIFE. Click to open this in a new window and prepare to be amazed.

i am going to a ballet tomorrow night.

I used to do ballet. For ten years. Sometime I hated it but I always loved it. This is me last week after Raymi’s party. Dress if from this store. Look ma’ still got it. Kinda. Not top form, by any means. I was three years old when I started dance and stopped when I was 13. I did ballet, tap and jazz. I competed in NY and SC as well as across Ontario. Sometimes I was taken out of school for competitions and I wore blue eye shadow and red lipstick. I need to find our photos. I reckon they’re all at Mum’s. We have a FB group for our old studio Meyerhopher in Cambridge. Great studio and people there. It says this on the FB group: If it doesn’t kill you, it will only make you stronger. Or you will really feel it the next day. I am going to see  “Robert Lepage’s “Eonnagata” starring Sylvie Guillem with my friend who is a wonderful photographer. There is dancing and beautiful music and famed French ballerina  Sylphie Guellieium. This is her, such beauty. Looking quite forward to it. Midway between theatre and dance, Eonnagata pits the fan against the sword, the courtesan against the swordsman. But it also explores the embodying of one sex by the other in what is more an investigation of gender than of sexuality. The work draws on Onnagata, a Kabuki theatre technique that enables actors to represent women in a highly stylized fashion, shedding new light on the Chevalier d’Éon and revealing that his enigma is perhaps the mystery of human identity itself.
