lay me down on a bed of clothes-es

I love  vintage shops and clothing swaps but rarely buy stuff from retail chains.  I donate but I can’t seem to get rid the piles. I love them too much  but I hate putting them away. Last night the pile was so big and I was so tired that I pushed them over to the side and laid down in a bed of clothes and dozed off. BUT…before I went to bed there I noticed attack of the spiders…gross.

not feeling so hot

It’;s raining again today and I woke up with a bit of a tickle in my throat. I hate that feeling. I’m quite tired since I returned from a wild weekend in Florida and now it’s catching up wit hme. The rain really puts a damper on things and the mood of everyone around me is somewhat gloomy and grey. I could hear Mum’s voice this morning as I received the following Tweet from one of my followers after saying I felt a soar throat.  This is  just what would come out of Mum’s mouth the second I tell her how I feel. I love you Mum and thanks to Sarah for being on it with the herbal remedies.  The stuff really works but let me tell you, it tasteds like shit.  I’ll pick some up at lunch today and hopefully, the little soldiers will fight off whatever bad guys are making me feel sicky just like in the book.  I also posted a video of driving to Miami, it’s cloudy and kinda gloomy, just like today.

the prekini, as in before bikini

I love wearing my bathing suit. It’s one of my favorite things to wear. However, not always the most appropriate. Thinking about this, I came up with a fab idea that I needed a prekini to wear before heading down to the pool or from the car to the beach. I mean prekini as an outfit and not the wax stuff. These are my first few sketches. I’m thinking this is a great idea! Hella good style.

she’s gonna grow up and write a book about you

I had a blog before this one, it was on myspace, it still is. It’s called it ‘It’s not how good you are, it’s how good you want to be” after a favorite book by Paul Arden. It’s all writing and poetry. I revisited it today, it had been since 2007 that I logged into myspace. I guess you could say I’ve been kinda busy. I have two accounts casieandjenie and misscasiestewart. November 25 2004 I am spinning, sitting here thinking.Thoughts of you run from my heart, past my mind Turning round in my head. fond, found, fortune, fashion, focus

I’m wearing a mum outfit today. Her old belt that still smells like New Zealand and a shortened Dashiki that matches my orange vintage boots. Tomorrow is going to warm but today its so windy and cold. I think I’m going to write on my way in more often. I lost my computer and ipod so now I use what I got, my device and thoughts and spend less time on the actual computer. I’m inspired in the morning, except for sporadic days when I am not. I usually wake up with a smile. Damn its cold. This morning I woke up to a message from a friend that said he’s in London England and the style there reminds him of me. I think that’s the nicest thing ever. I’ve never been to London but I know about style there. I can’t type as fast as thoughts fly, I can barely talk that fast and when I do its funny and I sound like a nut. I missed a call from a magazine editor last night. I wonder what he wants? H has the closing party for his art show tonight and I’m also planning to chat with Poster Boy. I’m going to make some. Cut and paste was one of my most favorite things to do at the kitchen table when I was younger. It still is along with writing. I wrote a poetry book in 1996 called Jeans. It’s not on Amazon because its out of print, its time for a new book. We started our publishing company without Internet and did it old the fashion way. We learned a lot. Its seems so easy now. I forgot my sunnies, the vintage ones from France. They would have matched perfect. As I take off my jacket I forget…

the more we get together, the happier we’ll be

“For your friends are my fiends and my friends are your friends” and #genyTO meetup’s are a great way to get together! Yes, Raffi. It was really awesome to see many familiar and new faces. I met some tres cool people and have lots of pix that I will add to the #genyto group on FB later this weekend. This month’s meetup was at Andy Pool Hall. Must say I’m sorry that some of my stickers got ‘stuck’ on the pool hall and not just on peoples clothes etc. I won’t be going back there with this a haircut. I recieved a nasty email today from Andy’s that went something like “your f***in stickers, what the f**k “. Sheesh, sorry guise. Don’t have to be so mean about it. I had a blast dancing, it’s abviously a really classy place. I wasn’t quite having as much fun as barefoot lady. She went all out! For real. I’m really excited to be part of this growing group of wired, creative, motivated young people. Seeing the growth from the first #genyto in February to last night’s April meetup has been really cool. I’ve met some of the most inspiring & fun people ever. Hope to see heaps of you out at #pibTO today 1pm, Second Cup @ 307 Queen Street and John Street! 100% of the proceeds go to SickKids so bring your travel mug and get in line!

bye bye bush, come to mama obama

With tomorrow being Obama’;s big day I was snooping around and found some interesting stuff. There are heaps of ‘Bye Bye Bush’ themed things buzzing around. I’ve seen a few that really were quite good. The winner is surely Ritual Spa on King West. They sent out the following clever promotion: In order to celebrate the inauguration of the new President of the United States of America, Barack Obama , Ritual is offering 20% off all Brazilian bikini waxes on inauguration day, Tuesday January 20th 2009. So say farewell fuzz, and bye bye Bush!! I send it to a friend and we had a good chuckle over it. Thought you might enjoy it also! I found a ‘Bye Bye Bush’ game here that was kinda fun to play for about 15 seconds. You get to throw your show at Bush. There is also a site counting down to inauguration day titled byebyebush.org. It’s ugly.

leon me, when you feel strong

My dear pops and sister have been listening to the Kings of Leon album ‘Only by the Night’. Dad gave me a copy and I very much enjoy listening to it. The sound is music to my ears, literally. Something I really enjoy is the Rorschach ink blot style cover. I first learned about these things in high school for Mrs. Weidinger, my marketing/entrepreneurship teacher. She was one of my favorites. I remember having very unique answers to those other kids in my class group. Looking back, totally not surprising. I now call it borderline artistic. I’ve always been the crazy weird one, even though I was well liked in school. That was probably because I had big boobs back then.

barry manalow rocks the eighties

Tonight, I watched Will & Grace and it was the episode when Will is in line for tickets the one night show of Barry’s Christmas Special. Grace gets mad when she sees that her mum ditched Hanukkah shopping to hang out with Jack. Karen finds comfort with the Fanilows in line for tickets. ET Canada was happy to have Mr. Manilow on their program this evening also. He is releasing a new album “The Greatest Songs of the Eighties,” due November 25 on Arista. It’s just amazing how youthful and soft his face looks. I browsed through some photos of Barry and maybe I found one way to stay looking young and have a pretty voice, a dried flowered bud of the Cannabis Sativa plant. It has visible THC crystals, which indicate high potency.

No Seaguls – Just Eagles

It really does not matter what you have, what you had, want, or what you own. You are whoever you want to be. How you perceive yourself has the biggest impact on how others perceive you, this is my belief and something I live. It was my dear mum that ingrained in me, “just because you don’t have money, doesn’t mean you can’t compete, you just have to be more creative”. Luckily for myself, I’ve always been rich in that department. The book in this post is one that I really, truly love and admire. It is written by Paul Arden one of the world’s top advertising guys who comes from a great career with Saatchi & Saatchi. This is not merely a ‘book‘, this is a bible for the creative, those driven to succeed who couldn’t even ever imagine what it’s like to ‘think inside the box‘. It has taught me tools to succeed in the world, to dream the unimaginable, to break the rules, and make my own path, leaving trails for others to follow. This book is about stretching the mind and thinking about where you want to be in the world. Do you want to be well known? The best in your field? Your country? Best in the world? Or best in the universe? You decide. I know where I want to be.

I am made of light; I am made of stars.

Mum gave me the book “The Four Agreements” by Don Miguel Ruiz many years ago. I have read it once before and recently picked it up again as I found myself looking for the same light that I once had. It is truly amazing when you read something so powerful as this book, yet, the amazement and self discovery is amplified when you bring yourself back to read it again. I have long since been on a spiritual journey, learning, reading, and evolving. I find that as I grow older I am somewhat of a life butcher, trimming the fat away, getting rid, and really savoring the good things. I have included a short excerpt from the book that outlines what the four agreements. I encourage the purchase of this book, in part because my copy is so important to me and well used that I refuse to lend it out! The four agreements are great to put up in places that you see them often to remind yourself of a better, more fulfilled & spirited life that you can live. Enjoy! xo Case The Four Agreements Be Impeccable With Your Word: Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love. Don’t Take Anything Personally: Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the Don’t Make Assumptions: Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this…
