Air Optix Colors: Green Eyes, Yeah The Spotlight, Shines Upon You

In today’s adventures, I’m trying out my latest pair of Air Optix Color contacts, Gemstone Green. I absolutely loved my last pair of Brilliant Blue contacts (see the post here) and how they dramatically changed my look. I have hazel/green eyes so adding these Air Optix Colors to my natural eyes is more of an enhancement. Here’s a breakdown on what makes these contacts unique: They use 3-in-1 color technology to define, transform, and brighten. Comfort; as a n00b to wearing contacts, I’ve learned they’re really comfortable. I forget I’m wearing them until I look in the mirror and then I’m like WHOA. Breathability – Even if work for cosmetic reasons (like me!) they’re great for daily wear. Beauty – I love wearing glasses and now contacts are a cool way to enhance my look. They’re used by celebs and a fav of Nina Dobrev. There’s an array of colors available and I’m hoping to try them all. You can get a rainbow pack which has 3 colours of your choice (2 lenses of each colour). Otherwise, AIR OPTIX COLORS are available in 2 packs or 6 packs of any given colour. Ask your eye doctor about them next time you get your eyes checked! If you’d like more info about Air Optix Color Contacts visit airoptixcolors.ca. Blue Eyed Baby: New Air Optix Color Contacts

When was the last time you had your eyes checked? For me it was longer than I could remember so when Air Optix Colors invited me to visit an eye doctor for an exam and look into color contacts I was all in. Depending on your age and risk factors, adults should see an eye doctor every 1-3 years. Over the holidays I saw Dr. Acs at Toronto Eye Care. Turns out I’ve still got healthy eyes and don’t need a prescription. I was super impressed with the technology they used to creep inside my eye, look at my retina, and take images. It’s really been a long time because I don’t ever remember having photos of my eyes taken by an eye care professional. Here’s a look at the back of my eye and the retina. I was a little freaked out when I saw them but Dr. Acs confirmed this is exactly what a healthy eye should look like. Crazy eh! The little spidery things around the edge of this photo are my lashes. My first experience wearing contacts as an adult was in November last year after attending the Air Optix Colors Canadian launch. Remember those vibrant Sterling Gray ones? (see post here) I loved how they changed my look and they went well with my violet hair. I really wanted to try Brilliant Blue but they didn’t have them at the event so I picked up Brilliant Blue over the holidays. I love my natural hazel eyes but changing things up is fun too. I put these in and wore them for and entire day and to dance rehearsal. They’re comfortable and I forgot I was wearing them until I looked in the mirror. They’re so bright! I was a bit freaked out about removing them but Dr. Acs gave me some pointers and…

Fashion | Look Into My Eyes, Air Optix Colors Canadian Launch

Last week I went to the Air Optix Colors launch w/ Cohn & Wolfe. I got to pick out a pair of colour contacts and have my makeup done. This photo is really close, I hope it doesn’t scare you lol. Reminds me I’ve aged! Those lines are from lots of smiles though. My usual hazel green eyes were transformed w/ this vivid Sterling Grey. I’m not a usual contacts wearer but these guys come in a variety of colours and last 30 days.  There’s a really bright blue I’d love to try! You can check them out at airoptixcolors.ca Loved this fur. Sadly it’s not mine, was just there for the photo booth. Quick reminder that Rudsak Canada is having a sample sale starting tomorrow at 99 Sudbury and there will be heaps of leather and fur goodies. I’ll have a sneak peek for you tomorrow! <3 CASIE

Live in Colour, Brown Eyed Girl

When I was young we used to go camping every summer near Orangeville. All the Kiwis and Aussies my parents knew got together for the Down Under Summer Games where we had a traditional Maori Hāngi, gumboot toss, and my sister and I performed with the Maori Culture Club. It was so much fun! My Grandpa Doug converted a school bus into a camper with kitchen and we drove that up a few times singing oldies the whole way. Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison was one of our favourites. Air Optix Colors encourages you to Live In Color and as you know, that’s something true in my life too. My closet is full of bright colours and sometimes my hair too. Nina Dobrev also wears them, and takes selfies. After trying almost* all the Air Optix Color contacts the last few months, I gotta say, I like brown eyes too. Tried them last thinking they’d be the least noticeable but they’ve got a nice look to them, have never seen my eyes this dark. The science behind the contacts design works to enhance your eyes in three ways where the outer ring defines, primary colour transforms, and the inner ring brightens. Important to take care of those peepers too! Remember, you’re never going to be younger than you are today so live a little, YOLO! <3 CASIE     * I didn’t try hazel contacts because I already have natural hazel eyes. * This post is sponsored by Alcon + Air Optix Colors but the story is my real…

Heteros Chroma, One Blue Eye + One Brown Eye

When I was growing up I remember a girl from my modelling school who was really beautiful and she had two different coloured eyes. I always thought it was so cool. Having two different eye colours is a genetic mutation (a beautiful one) called Heterochromia (Greek: heteros ‘different’ + chroma ‘color’[1]). It’s a result of the relative excess or lack of melanin (a pigment). I kinda always wanted to have one blue and one brown so I made it happen. Took a pair of Blue and one pair of and Brown Air Optix Color contacts and popped one in each eye. As soon as I tried them on I had to do a double-take. I looked so different! I wonder if anyone would notice? Do you know anyone with different coloured eyes? It can be caused by all kinds of things and there are a ton of variations on Wikipedia. In interesting news, there’s a whole bunch of celebrities with different coloured eyes. I never noticed Kate Bosworth. Whoa! You can see here how different the blue colour is from my natural hazel eyes. I really quite like how the brown ones look so I’m gonna wear them together next time. If you’d like more info about Air Optix Color Contacts visit airoptixcolors.ca.
