Cerulean Sea, Blue Skies, Boston Besties

This weekend in Boston was really fun. ?? ✈️  The friends I was visiting totally surprised me and flew in a couple we both know from San Francisco, (who used to live in Boston). I totally screamed when they walked in the backyard! ? I love surprises and they totally hid this from me for the last week. THANK YOU BOB AND ELLEN ILU! ?   They pulled together all my Boston BFFs and we had heaps of fun eating great food and lounging by the pool. On Friday night we had dinner with Kristen (in photo) and from then till Sunday morning when I left I was smiling and laughing. I took a break from Snapchat and Pokemon to spend some real FACE TIME with my friends. It was great! It’s been 2 years since I saw any of the crew and some even longer! They always say I bring the sunshine and I totally did, it was an absolute perfect day on Saturday. ☀️? I got home last night after another great flight with Porter Airlines. I absolutely love flying Porter. I’m not 100% on my next vacation destination  *yet* but early August we are up at the cottage for 9 days and I can’t WAIT. It’s Sean’s birthday that week and last year we rented a Seadoo. Have a post-op appt with my surgeon today and hopefully everything is a-ok. Still recovering and in some pain. I’m really happy with the results tho, it’s the first time in my life I’ve been able to comfortable wearing a bathing suit top! ☀️ Here’s to a great week! ☀️

#Travel: A Weekend in Boston w/ My Loves

On Friday afternoon Sean and I hopped on a little plane at Toronto Island and flew Porter across the pond to Boston. I absolutely LOVE flying Porter. We arrived at the (worlds shortest commercial) ferry at 2:10pm, landed on the island at 2:15pm, and at 2:40 we had checked in at the gate and through security. There was even time for a sandwich and a drink & snack. Pop, juice, water, coffee, tea, cookies, almonds are all free in the lounge. WIFI too! The flight was a breeze and in just under an hour and a half we landed at Boston Logan. It was my first time using the automated US Customs and it was a total breeze. We had a chuckle that I took a glamour shot. Like, check out that photo? All my selfie taking is really paying off. I can’t wait till I go for my next Passport photo. We stopped at The Bell in Hand as usual. I’ve been going there with Bob since my first Boston trip about five years ago. It’s the oldest pub in America and our friend Meri works there. Some Heineken babes were dishing out free beers which was a nice start to the weekend! Our next stop was Nico’s Restaurant in Boston’s North End, Little Italy. I absolutely LOVE Italian food and our dinner here was FANTASTIC. I packed up the leftovers and snacked on them later.  A bunch of celebs have dined there and I was most interested to see The Rock had been there since that photo of him from the 90’s has been flying around this week. I spent Saturday by the pool from morning till night. It was SUCH a beautiful day. And with a pool like this, hwo could I go wrong? A bunch of friends joined us later in the…

My Boston Marathon 2013

* Note – I wrote this yesterday before the bombings happened in Boston. I was there all weekend. Thought I shoudl do a little update so I didn’t seem insensitive or something. It’s really horrible what happened. A friend shared this really great article in The Atlantic about the whole thing and I share it with you. “We actually have all the power here, and there’s one thing we can do to render terrorism ineffective: Refuse to be terrorized. It’s hard to do, because terrorism is designed precisely to scare people — far out of proportion to its actual danger. A huge amount of research on fear and the brain teaches us that we exaggerate threats that are rare, spectacular, immediate, random — in this case involving an innocent child — senseless, horrific and graphic. Terrorism pushes all of our fear buttons, really hard, and we overreact. But our brains are fooling us. Even though this will be in the news for weeks, we should recognize this for what it is: a rare event. That’s the very definition of news: something that is unusual — in this case, something that almost never happens. “  Read the full article here ORIGINAL POST from April 15th, 2013 12:30pm The actual Boston Marathon is today and I know a few people in it. I’m not much of a marathon runner (yet) but my weekend in Beantown was somewhat of a marathon too. We had an awesome time! I wish I was there longer to check out more sights and do more things. We’re already planning to visit again in this summer. Hugest thank you to my friends there for taking us around and showing us an amazing time. Feeling refreshed and ready for a great week! Make it a great one 🙂 [View the story “Toronto > Boston >…

Boston Bound with Travel Savings from CAA

Last weekend I booked a trip with Sean to visit some friends next month in Boston. I go there about twice a year for a mini vacation. He’s never been to ‘beantown’ so I’m pretty excited to show him around the gorgeous city. Mum is always first to remind me about the importance of travel insurance and for this trip I was able to purchase it online through CAA using my new CAA membership. As I was checking out all the life-side assistance benefits from CAA I was happy to find out I can save money on a Boston CityPASS. The CityPASS allows you to check out some of the greatest attractions in the city at a discounted price. It’s valid 9 days from day of first use and you get to skip most ticket lines with your CityPASS in hand. You know I hate waiting in lines! CityPASS gives you admission to these 5 must-see Boston attractions: New England Aquarium (Never been!) Museum of Science (Never been!) Skywalk Observatory So cool. See photo below! Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (Never been!) Harvard Museum of Natural History OR Revolutionaty Boston at The Old State House The Boston CityPASS was $89.95 and with CAA I saved $45.96 PER TICKET. After having my membership for a mere two months, I have saved more than the membership itself costs! Yeah! I went to the skywalk last year it it was so neat! There’s a full 360 view of downtown Boston. The night I was there the Blue Jays were playing the Red Socks at Fenway Park and I took this photo. I think the Jays won. If you love travel like me, you’ll be happy to know that CAA’s wide variety of travel benefits also feature these fine cities. Atlanta is famous for its…

Boston’s true luxury experience, The @LenoxHotel

Time for some daydreaming… About you… Stopped into Hubba Hubba, a fun shop around the corner from this pretty window. Then I went o hang out at MIT. This mural is in the basement near washrooms by the main cafeteria. “I’m at MIT” They had BLUE Vitamin Water. Yo, O’Nizzle, we need to try that kind. It’s called “Stur-D” I did not eat these things but people do. The States has some interesting (fatty) snacks. Havard mixer anyone? I hung out at MIT & read the paper. Yeah, yeah I do. Thanks for the lunch date Zuckerberg. This is pretty neato. Who calls things ‘neat’? Andy Hall, that’s who. Let me get right in there for a sec. People were looking at me…is this bad luck? Classic shot of Boston. CITCO is how you find Fenway. Stayed at The Lenox on Friday night. Super nice hotel. I tweeted them and they never tweeted me back. I hate that. I was hoping they would be like “Oh Ms. Stewart, lovely to have you” (at least). Here is some champagne. The hotel was super packed with lean people for the Boston Marathon. Lenox is right at the finish line. I was quite (pleasantly) surprised to see ipads in several hotels/shops around Boston. Yay for technology. Ellen & I. The bell boys were all so very nice. Thanks for the hospitality! Well hello there pretty lady. More photos to come from heaps of other things I did over the weekend. Have you been to Boston? What are some of your fav things to do there? I will add to my list for next time! xo

saint boston = dance party

Boston is a really neat city, loved waking up here this AM. Last night we went to a club called Saint, a boutique nightery. No line no cover, my friends had everything hooked up. Billie Jean was blasting as we walked and were escorted to our booth. We all danced and it was a blast. I cruised over to this other room that was playing all hip hop and srsly cut a rug. So glad I wore flats. I was dancing away then make friends with these babes. They ordered champagne in my honour and added me to FB. God I love internet. Sadly, my acid reflux did not allow me to have more than a sip for the cheers but the spirit was there. We all had a blast. I’m really lucky to have such awesome friends. I was careful to count my drinks and enjoy myself, I didn’t get drunk (which was my plan). I’m way more fun when I drink less. Y’know? Overall, awesome night. Except, I woke up with heartburn 🙁

hello hello baby you called, i can’t hear a thing…cause i’m on vacation in boston with friends mooohahaha

Oh hai. I can haz vacay? You betca ass I can! (Did you know I was on that game show once “You Bet Your Ass”. If you find my episode on line I will give you a prize.) Woke up had a glorious brekky blueberry scone, eggs, toast, coffee. The weather is lovely just like at home. I went to the oldest bar in the USA last night called The Bell In Hand. They had a Cuervo promo and I successfully did NOT drink and Tequila or get drunky. Throat was killing yesterday and I prayed that all the meds I took last night would work and y’know what, I feel like a million freakin’ bux today. My flight from TO to Beantown was so lovely. Porter Airlines is seriously the way to fly. So classy & hastle free. I would love to have a deal with them (hint hint). I tweeted Porter and I was leaving the tarmac and by the time I landed in Boston I had replies from @porterairlines wishing I had a great flight. My in flight experience was just divine. I sat beside a man named Bob, this is him. A charming Canadian from Calgary living in Boston. Excellent chat the whole 1.5 hours and we spant most the time laughing at our own jokes (ok, more like him laughing at mine haha). I love meeting new people and it’s true that I make friends easily. He was intrigued by my positive attitude and surprised that my ‘day job’ is a real job. I probably said it 5 times “Yes, I watch TV and Twitter/Facebook professionally”. I landed about 6:30 and met B & E at the airport. I’m stoked to have a great weekend. Hope you do too! YAY VACATION FTW!!!!

i’ve got a crush on boston

I almost missed my flight this morning as I woke up late to my driver knocking at my door after waiting for over half an hour. Had to pay for that. I arrived to Pearson International at 5am for a 6 am flight and wisked my way through customs to barely make it. Switched in Washington and barely made that too. I toured around downtown Boston with my friend. Beautiful city. I love it here. The history and old buildings amazes me and I’ve been soaking it up all day. Beautiful day it was too.   I rode around on the Boston Duck tour (kinda like the Hippo Tour we have in TO) and got to go on the Charles River. I also got to drive the Duck Truck/Boat. I also made BFF’s with a 4 year old who got to drive it too. We got stickers.  I’ve got a heap of photos to add but i’ll get to that later. Just had a dip in the pool and a beer at the house. Heading downton for dinner. It’s been a really great day.

boston creme donut is one of my fav’s

Was talking a little ‘break’ from my hard work day at the office. Getting shit done. I surfed some favorite blogs and checked Raymi‘s then popped over to Phil‘s. Caught this fun one he took of us at the Island.  Jenie and I always do the head throw back when we laugh really hard. haha. That was a fun day.  I miss beach living and surfing. I miss the waves. I’m taking a mini-vacay and visiting some friend in one of the oldest cities in the USA this weekend, BOSTON.  It’s my first time so I’m kinda excited. I’m excited for adventure and looking forward to airports. I love the airport. Inspires me to write and imagine stories.  If you know some stuff I should check out  or Boston hot spots, please tell me.

ASTRONAUT – In Theatres & Streaming July 26th!

I’ve been sitting on this info for a while and I am so happy to finally share! I’ve got a part in ASTRONAUT starring Oscar winner Richard Dreyfuss, directed by Shelagh McLeod. The premiere is at Cineplex YD Square on July 26th and in select theatres across North America. If you’re in Van, NY, LA, Miami, Denver, Dallas, or Boston, check your local theatre. If you’re in Toronto see local times at Cineplex here. Astronaut will also be on streaming services so if you’re not near a theatre or just like staying home, you’re good! I’m hoping to have a few behind the scenes videos of us talking with Colin Mochrie later this week. Here are some photos from behind the scenes when we were shooting at the Canadian Warplane Museum and 299 Queen Street. It was pretty neat to be back at Much Studios 10 years after I worked there, to be A ON CAMERA IN A MOVIE. Astronaut was shot at the end of 2018, right before I went to NZ for a month and after a directed a real estate commercial for Great Gulf. I remember I was flying high, thinking every single day, wow ‘THIS IS MY LIFE’. Was pretty cool to see my updated IMDB to include actress. My role in the film is ‘Actress‘ and I play a celebrity contestant in the movie’s gameshow. I can’t wait to see it! Thank you for reading and following me. I’m constantly amazed at the course my life is taking. It’s amazing what you can accomplish if you are open, kind, and believe in yourself. Spring is nature’s way of saying, ‘Let’s party!’

This weekend we had friends in town from Boston. Instead of facing St. Patty’s Day crowds on Friday we hosted them for dinner (Uber Eats!). Saturday was pretty relaxing except for the call I got at 10:30am saying Mum was in the hospital. She ended up having appendicitis and getting her appendix out. Just like that! She was back home just after dinner time. Canada is such an amazing country. At yoga on Sunday, Sandy read a few horoscopes and mine mentioned gifting myself a young cactus. The cool thing about that was I had a ticket for a terrarium workshop that afternoon. It was my my 3rd terrarium workshop of the year and want to make a really big one now that I understand how. It was at Untitled&Co and a couple friends joined me in the fun. This week I’ve got an event at Twitter HQ & am seeing another show at Mirvish. Since I’ve made yoga a priority and started focusing on doing things for ME that I really want to do, I’m so much happier. Today I’m doing 9am yoga with the team at 2Social in the Junction. Hope to get my bike tuned up later today. Here’s to a great week! Sending sunshine through the internet to you! Longer days are on the way! ☀️??
