Fashion on Fire Event for Arthritis Canada

Last week, I had the pleasure of attending Arthritis Society Canada’s fourth annual Fashion on Fire event in Toronto, alongside my fabulous friends from Bathing Belle Swimwear. Held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, the evening was a vibrant celebration of fashion, community, and purpose, bringing together over 450 guests to support the 6 million Canadians living with arthritis. My friends from Bathing Belle Swimwear, known for their custom designs, were among the event partners, contributing to the evening’s success and supporting the cause. You will recognize the name Bathing Belle because I have been wearing their beautiful suits for years. See here! Fashion on Fire was not just a night of style but a powerful reminder of the resilience of those living with arthritis and the impact we can make together. A heartfelt thank you to the organizers, participants, and sponsors for an unforgettable evening. Special thanks to Danica from Bathing Belle for the invite!

My First Cruise Ship Adventure

About 2 weeks before New Year’s, a friend asked me if I wanted to go on a cruise due to an unfortunate set of circumstances. I was up for it, my first cruise ship adventure! I’ve been house-hitting a friend’s place for about a month, and she was back on the exact days of the cruise. I was due for a getaway with a crazy few months behind me. It was exactly what I needed! I had such a beautiful room and I am forever grateful to my friend for inviting me to come on this adventure. It could not have come at a better time in my life. I have a zillion photos, but here’s a few in a little recap. I had never been on a cruise before, and this was not just any cruise. It was a Celebrity Cruise through the Caribbean, and let me tell you… it was a total vibe. It was the perfect way to close out the year and cruise into 2025 feeling refreshed, sun-kissed, and full of gratitude. We stopped in Cozumel, Mexico, Grand Cayman, the Cayman Islands, and Bimini, Bahamas. The beaches were so beautiful, and feeling the sun on my skin was incredible. When we stepped on, it felt like entering a floating resort. Sunshine, beautiful views, endless food, and luxe poolside lounging. I was instantly in vacation mode. The food was fantastic! There were a variety of restaurants and a 24-hour dining option; I had everything from fancy meals (steak, sushi, pasta) to BBQ snacks by the pool. The theatre shows were so good! Each performance by the theater crew was outstanding, with incredible singing, dancing, and a live band! I went to a show almost every night before one of the evening events (Abba sing-along, Silent Disco). I…

Sailing in Bahamas 2024

I went sailing in Bahamas! Earlier this month I flew south to spend a week with mum on their boat in the Exuma, Bahamas. It was so beautiful! From the moment I saw that blue water I knew I was somewhere special! I flew from TO to Atlanta then landed at the Exuma airport on a sunny Friday afternoon. My driver was there waiting to deliver me to the parents in George Town, Bahamas. They picked me up and we took the. little dinghy over to their sailboat. The next day we sailed 4 hours to Lee Stocking Island to spend a few days in this stunning + remote location. It was stunning! We went to an island with iguanas and then to another island where we had the beach all to ourselves! Grateful for my friend Danica, designer of Bathing Belle swimsuits for hooking mum and I up with these GORGEOUS swimsuits. Every suit I wore on this trip was by Bathing Belle, her shop is is in Roncesvalles, Toronto and you should totally check it out. She’s got tons of prints & styles, you can get a custom suit, or have your suit adjusted to be the perfect fit. Highly recommend! I’ve posted about Bathing Belle before here.

Day 520: Stoney Saturday

We drove up to ‘Scottage‘ on Stoney Lake to spend a couple of days with our friend Jake. It was such a relaxing time. I spent most of Saturday laying in the sun, floating, and reading my book. I was due for a battery recharge and couldn’t have asked for a better place to do it. We had a big bbq for dinner and finished it off with a delicious birthday cake for Sean from Pusateri’s. His birthday is Sunday but since there were other guests, it was the perfect way to celebrate. Jake is the Manager for The Tragically Hip and their drummer Johnny Fay was staying there with his partner too. So cool! Young me never imagined I’d be hanging out with the Tragically HIp and singing HBD to Sean togetehr. What a trip!

Day 237: Leopard Loving Lady

Sean and I drove back to the city in the AM so we could pick up Emily after school. I took a long walk in the late afternoon and stopped by the Bathing Belle Studio for a visit. My bff Michelle just started working there and I’m so happy because Bathing Belle makes the NICEST SWIMSUITS I’VE EVER WORN. In other news, I got this great coat at a second-hand shop in New Zealand and it’s been hanging in my room ever since. Decided it was time to bust it out! Tomorrow I’m meeting April at the Hippie Market and she’s going to spend the week at the cottage with me. I can’t wait!
