This was fun. It was super busy! Seas of people wearing neon and bad outfits. I didn’t take my DSLR, thought it might rain. Street style would have been a real hoot. Nice to see Azari & III on the Echo Beach stage. Heaps of people who were total zombies by the end of the night. You won’t believe the vibration from the speakers backstage. Overall, awesome experience for first Digital Dreams. Cheers to Bacardi for a fun day!

I love love love this Color Bug product by Kevin Murphy (Australia). I’ve been using it for a few months. Colour in, wash out. It works like a chalk on your hair and is a totally perfect perk up when you need to get your roots done! Works on all different hair shades and comes in a variety of colours including pink, orange, lime green, white, purple, and GOLD.
This morning I was feeling Friday lazy, plus am about to go get my hair done tonight, so threw this in with a couple curls and VOILA. Stopped to snap a few photos with my new DSLR on the way to work. I’m looking to teach a Master Class in Self-Photography one day.
Peace out peeps, hope you hae a killer Friday night. I’m heading for a drink with the girls from work, then hair appointment, and probably a wild night at home watching a movie with my love. Mum is coming to visit tomorrow and I’m so glad it’s a long weekend.
A couple weeks ago I announced my partnership with Canon as a Brand Ambassador and over the past month I’ve been playing around with my new DSLR. The Canon Rebel SL1 is a compact 18 mega pixel camera with touch screen and whole bunch of features I’m not quite versed in yet. I have heaps to learn.
Canon has awesome resources and I’ve been playing on canonoutsideofauto.ca but the real way I’m going to learn is TAKING PHOTOS. I’m just getting used to using a DSLR. I’ve got a pretty good eye for composing a nice shot but right now aperture and ISO feel like new languages. Once I learn and understand exposure (ISO, shutter speed and aperture), I’ll be in business. I know it won’t take too long!
I’ve been playing around with ISO and exposure. It’s super neat how one photo can be so different by changing just one or two things.
This little Rebel has built in filters too. So, naturally I took a few selfies in the park to test them out.
This weekend I’m shooting Digital Dreams music festival and in August I’ll be shooting Disneyland and California! Staring in next month have a weekly fashion column for Dose.ca. This is where those Canon skills will really come into play. I’m excited to take my blog to the next level!
Below are a few photos I took using (gasp) auto to get used to using the camera.
One of the most beautiful things, a perfect avocado!
Limba the 50 year old elephant at Bowmanville Zoo.
A baby giraffe peeks out his head at Bowmanville Zoo. I need to work on depth and focus.
Flower pot at the cottage in Muskoka.
The dock and boat at sunset in Muskoka.
Gonna to practice camera settings in nature.
Over the next couple months I’ll be attending events and learning sessions with an expert from Canon. I gave them a whole list of things I want to achieve before December rolls around. I’m exited to take you on this journey with me! If you have tips on accessories or tricks that will help me out, please share!
On Friday night before the cottage we ventured up to Cabana Pool Bar to celebrate the solstice with Red Bull. Thanks to the lovely Becca Lemire for these snaps. I coloured them in Picasa and used makeagif.com to animate them.
Sending you sunshine, heard it might rain again today. 🙂
YouTube has launched a great initiative called Proud to Love encouraging people to share their own stories.
The team at Coral TV is proud to live in a great city that celebrates individuality and freedom. We put together a little video from all of the hosts to celebrate Pride week. I’ve been going to Pride for years, see a brief history here.
Upload your own video using the hashtag #ProudToLove telling us what you are proud to love!
Currently en route to the Thompson Hotel for a media lunch with Grey Goose (client) for the Cherry Noir. I’m working though so just food and photos, no dranks! This weather is so weird, in wearing a mixed up outfit of cutoff overalls and a poncho with Sperrys.
These are for you. I picked them with my phone camera 🙂
My hair is in a pony today. It’s getting long. Finally getting my lashes done today w/ JJ Cowan and hair is Thursday at Evolve Studio. These are the most gnarly roots ever!
Much love and light,

Hello and HI from West Queen West. I’m your host Casie Stewart reporting live from TEH INTERNET. It’s a beautiful 18 degrees in the sunny city of Toronto and I wish you an amazing day! Now, go put a smile on that face and share it with someone.
If you didn’t see this video on social TV from Twitter check it out. Pretty neat data visualization.
I LOVE social TV. Something I’ve been really passionate about since working at a TV station a couple years ago. The magic of Twitter and TV fascinates me. I love real time communication, advertising, and interaction. I hope to work more in that space again one day.
Last year at Banff World Media Festival, social TV was such a hot topic. Here’s my episode on Coral TV where I chat about upcoming trends, these are all relevant one year later!
In other news, Vizify is a wicked way to visualize your social resume. Made this little ditty the other day. Cool eh!
Hey lovelies. It’s been a busy month with heaps of events, NXNE, MMVA, Vancouver, and Montreal. I’m dying to get back up to the cottage and will be doing so after Red Bull’s Solstice event at Cabana Pool Bar on Friday night. I was there last weekend, it’s a pretty sliiiiiiick summer party spot.
The event is free but there’s gonna be a HUGE line. I can offer a bunch of you VIP to attend. I’ve got 4 passes for 2 on the VIP line bypass guestlist. All I need you to do is tweet me and I’ll pick winnas tomorrow. Red Bull parties are ALWAYS a blast, I’ve been to a few over the years! This party starts at Cabana Pool Bar on the Polson Pier at 5pm on Friday and goes till late at Sound Academy.
NXNE was fun except I got sick after and didn’t even go to that many shows. Didn’t do much of the MMVA either besides a few afternoon stops on Sunday. Wasn’t feelin’ it this year. Jackie my old friend, it was lovely to see you.
The Red Bull patio is always a good time. It’s the spot above their super rad office on Queen Street.
… it was winter with the weather and how cold I have been for the last 24 hours.
After a very busy two weeks my whole body said ‘NO’ do doing anything and I’m on sick day #2. I hate it. There are heaps of things happening at work and not being there gives me the FOMO. There’s a bunch of events this week too but I can’t even begin to think about going anywhere. I am wrapped up in scarf, hat, Lazy Pants, warm socks, snuggie, and duvet. There’s a Ravi Soups around the corner, I wonder if they deliver?
