it’s like a chose your own adventure book for real

Cool storm last night. Didn’t last long but it was great; energetic, powerful, heavy, beautiful.  Drove around in it.  Got wet. Loved it all.

The rain drops were falling down in rounds and floating in the wind. It was lovely.

Later, I went to Koodo Mobile party for the launch of their Build a Bash campaign at buildabash.ca. They are gonna give away $50,000 to some coolperson to have a party. I want it.

If we’re not friends yet, add me on FB and join my party just like this. So easy. The site has some ‘issues’ yesterday and wasn’t working.

I guess everyone wants to party?

Yum, fried. Two of my favorites – rings & beer.

Classic me = spilly willy.

I won a Samsung phone, first prize of the night. I’d like to win some CASH next time. Gonna give the phone away to someone who is a Koodo lover, stay tuned.

Shared my drink tickets, I was like ‘let me buy you a drink, and you a drink’ haha. Um, we were supposed to look excited in this photo guys?

If I win the $50,000 to throw a party, I’ll hook up some sponsors and take it up about 1,000 notches. I’ve wanted to throw a massive guy for ages and I reckon it’s about time!!

Hello there adorable girl with blonde hair wearing tartan just like me. I spotted her across the bar and thought she was the cutest little thing. She spotted me too. Like attracts like?

It is official – everybody loves stickers at parties. Nice meeting all 100 of you that got them :)

Omg, I think it was my favorite song. Gun pointing hand dance, so cool.

the wild lion hair of @mhp

omg hello again, you are so incredibly cute.

She came over to introduce herself as someone who’s been reading for a while and said she loves blog. Also  totallycute.  Don’t forget to email me!

weekend finally. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

it’s the little things that matter most

Thank You Sprouter! from my heart

I met Sarah Prevette and Erin Bury early this year when I volunteered to be on the team for Twestival. At the time they were Redwire and the power behind the greatness that was hosting the event. Being part of the team and getting to know them was an awesome experience. We have since worked on a bunch of things together and I try to help out where I can. The office admin girl came over and said ‘you’re so lucky’ as she dropped a beautiful green money tree at my desk. Interestingly enough, I mentioned earlier that karma goes around and shows up when you least expect it. I feel so lucky today. Thank you.

Looking forward to Twestival Local on September 12th, mark your calendars!

you can’t keep me from my boyfriend…the internet

Shocker last night from Rogers. Told me I maxed out on my internet usage and now they’re charging me per GB.  For me, that’s like trying to keep me from someone I love. Putting restrictions on the time we spend together.  I want no limits and I want to be able to spend all the time I want together.  I heard from a little bird that it’s gonna get worse too. I was really mad at Rogers, but I’m not anymore.  I’ll just have to take it! You can’t keep me from the internet.

I didn’t shave the sides right down again, just a snip. Sorry @brundly_fly, I know what you said. I’d like it to grow a bit but the thing is that it’s going to be awkward and I refuse to have it look ugly. So, for now, it’s kinda same but not half shaved anymore, just short. If you want someone cool to do your hair, go see Darren. His spot is right across from Trinity Bellwoods and the vibe in there is so chill.  I love.  I love.

I arrived home to find out we had two packages AND they were both for me.  Lucky day! I got two great snags. I’m not sure where the book came from but the video came from The Comedy Network. They wanna send me stuff now. THANK YOU! Getting mail is one of my most favorite things, especially surprise mail. HINT HINT

I watched a bunch of the DVD and was Tweeting up my appearance at #hohoto (as in I wasn’t there but I was pretending via Tweets I was). I almost for got how funny Brett and Jemaine are. Remember when I met them? I decided to actually make an appearance and I showed up sober at about 12:30 as the party was closing down. Let me tell you, best time to show up. Everyone was drunk and was SO happy to see me.  Felt like a star. They raised a bunch of money for the Food Bank and it looked like it was a really good time. Nice work guys!

p.s. My site is being so slow.  Know how to make it fast? Please email me. okthxbai

one more thing: I’m in love with this girl now thanks to @misslava from Ad Girl and Tech Nerd for sharing. Omg, she’s the cutest little Raggamuffin.

socialnomics? does that make you a socialnomist?

Sprung out of bed and yawned out loud, the sun was on my face. Slugged to the kitchen, to the loo, not yet in a race. My mind, it slipped me…such good sleep! I saw the clock, I was in SHOCK… I was nearly late!

For brunch today, I was graced with the lovely presence of British, Bangs and a Bun writer Muireann Carey-Campbell. I pulled up to see her locking her bike up in a cute blue dress, bangs and a bun and all.

It’s one of the hottest days so far, I wore the Edie dress.  Gah, I’d rather bike in my bathing suit. We had some damn good laughs over brekky. Looking forward to reading about he life in NY and Japan.

I’m waiting for friends to come over and go swimming. The air is like a thick brick cloud and it sticks to you when you walk through it.

This video has been circulating on Twitter today and I found it to be quite interesting.

absolutely, a total need for something different

I’ve always been a little different. I when I little I would mix match the couple outfits Mum would lay out on the bed to wear and make my own. I wore two different socks one time, orange and green to match the shorts shirt combo. I remember it. A parent turned to Mum and said “You’re gonna let her go like that?” as Mum says, “If she feels confident like that then I’m not gonna stop her”. Thank you Mum. It’s important to be different. Mum made the dress I wore to the Notable TV party about 16 posts ago.

The video of the party just came out, go watch it now! Julian talked about the the Notable brand in his toast (3:28) which is my favorite part after Raymi and I at 2:40. haha j.k. There are some cool smart young people featured on Notable TV and I like how Julian wants to give people something different. I think that’s important. I truly love the amount of motivation & determination amongst Generation Y in Toronto. There are some really cool things going on in this city. Makes me proud!

interest in spying on people engaged in behaviors

So nice out yesterday. I could have let the day last forever. Today too.  I like it hot. They were talking about mozzies while we were sitting in the grass and I was like ‘no, what mosquitos? I don’t feel them’. Biggest loser. Today I’m scratchy-mc-scratcherton.

The baddest bikes around. Pete was having a one night stand with this one and testing it out. Cervelo got the green jerz in Tour de France and they’re partying this week. Picture makes me giggle cause the leg looks kinda like the bike to me.

I was in friend heaven last night hugging everyone so tight. I missed you guys! I haven’t seen so many favorite faces all together for a while. I met some cool new people and my purse is full of business cards. Lost my keys but my glasses have been located.

Pretty much everyone in the joint tweets. I met two people that were don’t, how weird. Follow @pinkbrickroad and @dariusbashar, they’re cool kids. Patio was beau-teeeee-ful. Fun, sun, friends, beer, music, like OMG can it get any better.

Then I met this guy who is nice (sorry I forgot your name) and we chatted but he had something to say, he doesn’t get my blog. Like really, what is the point? Um, well, ah….it started because I wanted to remember stuff better and I was bored and I like writing. Now, people read it and like it and some people even say I’m inspiring. How cool is THAT! Me thanks Mum and Daddio for inspiring me.

My stickers are always a hit. I make stickers because I think it’s better than a business card at this kind of thing. They get stuck on peoples clothes and name tags and they wear them around proudly. You can’t wear a business card around and look as cool as you do with a sticker. Plus, at the end of the night you have the sticker with my URL and Twitter  making me easy to find. Plus, the picure makes it hard to forget my pretty little face.  Ha!! Two points for me.
We all tuned in to hear the exciting news that Redwire is now Sprouter , “an application facilitating real-time discussion and networking”. Their next step in their mission “to provide exceptional tools for start up founders.” Just as I was listening in the door came Toronto bloggers Ad Girl and Tech Nerd.

Darius though it was really funny to pretend to toss my baby Bobby laptop around. haha, as in not funny! Darius runs the social network of do-googers Daily Challenge.  I’ve worked with them on a few great events over the last year and I also won my little blue steel camera in a Daily Challenge contest. Yahooo! I do good.

It was a busy day and all the beer fun has left me a little tired today. I’d like to be laying in the grass floating in pool with my sunnies on. Oh, remember when I was all gung-ho about Sobey’s opening next door and being 24 hours? I set up a Twitter account cause I thought it would be funny to say what was happening there in the wee hours of the morning etc. Well it’s not 24 hours but they DO want the Twitter account.  Badass.

what life used to be like B.T

I knew right when I woke up that something wasn’t right. I had a knot in my stomach and I tossed and turned.  Ropes hit the window as I was getting ready and the window cleaning men saw me naked. I rode through a stop sign in front of a police man. Twitterberry was returning no signal and I figured I hate you you stupid phone.  I get to the office and think ‘oh no they blocked twitter gadget finally’. I pinned Kurt and Keri and Tiffany on BBM and said “IS TWITTER DOWN?”. I was in a bit of a panic and thought it has to be the office big brother. Asked Dr. Google for an answer prescription and I got all I needed to know…Twitter is down.

Some things I would have Tweeted:

  • Everything you can imagine is real. Pablo Picasso
  • Coupon for $2.00 off Tylenol Aches and Pains
  • MMMM roast chicken and mashed w. veggies from catering today. I love.
  • I woke up and imagined it was Friday
  • I Hope it doesn’t rain on my white dress today.
  • new Vegimite flavour suggestions in the NZ Herrald [link]
  • oooh typornopgraphy j’adore [see for yourself]
  • style stalked Zanita. Zanita who? [babe]
  • Making these Betsy J. style [legs]
  • keep checking and still no twitter GAH!
  • @americanapparel chambray hooray! [awesome]

you can’t rain on my parade

Good Morning! I feel like I could be a radio show today. I am happy to be at work. It’s a beautiful day might even thunderstorm later. The ride in is what I have been missing for the past two weeks. Breaks fixed. Wore my helmet and felt good about it. Smarter, like it keeps my thoughts all bunched up close together and in a jumble and now I sit here and they all flow out like waterfalls fast how I like them to.  Held my nose past the slaughterhouse, stinks bad man. Gross. NO strikers anymore. Good thing. Saw a soda pop  van covered in astro-turf grass. Breakfast Television has lost my interest but I like the news and weather of CP24.

Hot today still humid. Thunderstorm would be nice. I like to ride through the puddles. Dad’s got a sewing machine for me and I’ve got heaps of fabric and vintage patterns at home. Really excited. Twestival Local is coming up September 12th 2009, mark your calendar. In Twestival Global raised over $250,000.00 for charity: water. It was really fun. Twitter has grown so much since February. I hope it rains when I bike home.

that’s a good way to look at it

everything moves so fast in my day. in my life really. days seem like weeks and before i know it its a new month in the year. i get to work and work hard and that makes time go fast. i type short messages to my friends and followers in 140 characters. i do this in twitter and in email now too. my thought flow fast. i fell in love with 12seconds.tv as you now and it seems like making a video or something to post about happens so fast that i need to slow down to think about what to write about on my blog. i’ll never run out of thoughts.  while i think about what to write about i send a few tweets and think about things in 12 second increments. everything moves so fast.  i’m going for a walk. i take my camera & netbook and think, that’s not slowing down at all.

the thing is. i may think and move really fast but i slowly capture moments in my day that make it awesome. it may only be 140 characters or 12seconds that changes your day. finding beauty in simple things, this is to have lived.

time flies when you’re having fun i guess

Was hotter than I thought riding in today. It said 16 but after biking in pants and long sleeves it felt like 36. My hair is always wet when I leave and dry when I get there. It’s a pleasure having low maintenance hair that dries a perfect mess every time.  Wore my retainer, forgot a bra.

Last week I did an interview with a reporter from CanWest about a customer experience I had with a big brand and Twitter. I first told the story on my blog earlier this year when it happened. You can read the article in the Ottawa Citizen.

She quoted me saying “It shows the power of one voice,” says Stewart, a Toronto woman who describes Twitter as having “instant-messaging with the whole world.”

I hope you have a great day.

a brief interruption

In case you were wondering, or if you weren’t, I’m gonna tell you anyways..in the grass

I’m still vibrating my eyelashes every morning with the Maybelline mascara. The mascara is really quite good. Been a while since I actually liked one for the product vs. the price. Smelling ever so sexy in Givenchy PlayPlay comes out in August and features Justin Timberlake in sexy photos. Maybe you remember my sexy ones to match? I’ve got a new pair of prescription glasses on the way from Glasses USA thank-you-very-much. Black rimmed ones like an old man but good for a young lady.

smiling GenY faces

Tomorrow night is #Genyto at the London Tap house downtown. I’m looking forward to seeing smiling faces like the ones in this photo of @kathrynboland,@rlangdon, @MichelSavoie & @kevrichard . There will be lots of cool kids there. It’s Rayanne’s birthday too so look the fuck out. Someone on Twitter just said I look like Toni Collette bur more bitchin’. That’s hot.

my hot date: me + internet ♥

Finished up the day with some work writing, always nice. Biked home. Changed out of the white dress, felt a raindrop on my face.

Got to Wired Wednesday in time to say a few hello’s to familiar faces and get a seat close to Saul. Learned about Zoompass, backtype, backtweets, yoono and saw the babes form Scribblelive. Lots of cool people and good ideas. I learned stuff and I like that. Looking forward to seeing many of those beautiful faces Friday for GenYTO.

love you my sister

A hot 12 inch sub and I sat down at the computer. Opened email, RSS reader and started reading a post from How to Make My Blog. That lead to new tabs and my internet excursion. I’m just getting in to backtype now; seeing all my comments and searching my name through the interwebs seeing what’s out there. Out There: a marketing & pr agency I made up in Entrepreneurship class in hignschool.  Got a good mark.  Mum will remember.

luis my baby, love you

Been thinking about L.A. lots lately, California in general. Made a new friend at the LA Times. Traveled deep into the internet on the couch finding new things and blogs last night. Didn’t stay up too late,  got a good sleep.

Had a nice date with myself.

it has its benefits

I realized this morning as I put on my new vibrating mascara followed by my unreleased Givenchy fragrance that blogging really does have its benefits. Mum reminds me sometimes.  I’m always thinking about the next step. Last year I got a heap of cool jazz. Last night I got invited to Dermologica thanks to Marie from Karmacake.ca. I left with a whole skin care routine specific to what I like/need to make my face look extra lovely. It’s fun to meet other bloggers and this time it was all girls who were all very nice. Camera2 I’m excited to see where this bloggy takes me, it’s growing and I’m having lots of fun writing it. I’m also thankful for the opportunities it’s given me! I like going back and reading crazy thoughts that came out of my head and I often wonder “what was I thinking?”. It’s part of the fun of having a crappy memory!  Sometimes when I have a bad day or feel like crap it’s comments from you that completely change my mood and make me smile. Thanks for reading it.

The new Wired just arrived at my desk…it’s a good day.

Cool. Who is it? Maybe then wanna come out too? No, they wanna stay in. I can come out for a bit but I wanna be back home for 11:59pm to meet them. What! They’re coming at midnight? Yeah, well kinda.

Not exactly sure my plans but they will include getting my Facebook Vanity URL and celebrating @ClubSobey.

i’m your suggested contact

Yesterday I was at MaRS for Net Change Week. I was an expert at Social Mastermind // Social Media for Social Change hosted by RedWire.  I had the opportunity to share ideas and brainstorm with the ladies from Raising the Roof Canada’s only national charity for the homeless. netchange 013I really enjoyed learning about homelessness in Canada and was happy to chat about their youth initiative.   They haven’t really tapped into social media which  gave me lots of opportunity to share my ideas on how they can use social media for good. There was lots of Twitter talk!!  In the end, each group came up with a tangible strategy that they could to take back to the office and execute.

It was awesome to see  friends hard at work helping charities. Prime example, these fine gentleman…@d_hock, Andrew Lane from @nitchblog and Julian Brass from @notableTV.netchange 010-1

I’m have always been very interested in youth issues. When I was in high school I was Director of PR on the City Youth Council and we started a rock festival and opened a drop-in centre for city youth.  It was rewarding and gave me an opportunity to learn a lot about PR and how to turn ideas into reality.  In the evening session I made an appearance at Wired Wednesday. Everyone was wearing name tags with a suggested contact on it…I was theirs. New Folder1-1
