Visit from Jenie this morning! Finally cleaned room and put away the damn clothes. Taking Mum and Dad copies of of us in the paper, parents love that stuff. Really looking forward to home cooking.

See you soon Mum! Thank you for having me :) I love you. xoxo

This is being sent from the QEW going about a hundred km via phone. Ha!

my two mums

When I was growing up Mum had a best friend named Pat Hope. They’re still best friends. They lived around the corner from us. Pat only had one son but no daughters.

To us, she was like a fairy god mother. She was our second mum. She would pick up girly things on her travels like jewelry and dresses. She always had sweet treats with her.

She had a room full of bunny things. She dressed beautifully and had great style. Her house was always beautiful and decorated better than any other…for every occasion. She would host elegant dinner parties with a long list of guests. Snacks on every table.  She rules, my second mum.

They came to visit Jenie and I after work. Was excited to show Mum new comp and helmet. She was really happy. Had some wine and chatted while the Y&R was on.

Found out today that it was Dad that got Mum into watching it before I was born. Dad picked my name from the show. Casey was Nikki Newman’s sister, a hot doctor. It’s great having them over for a visit.

Thanks for making the trip guys. Love you!

i am made of light i am made of stars

A couple years ago Mum gave me the a book called “The Four Agreements” by Don Migue l Ruiz.

It makes me feel less anxiety when I carry it around. It’s one of those you keep in your purse and when someone says something or does something to make you feel not as awesome as you should, I reach for it and read it over a couple times. I refuse to lend it out because I’d hate to not get it back. That always happens with book lending. The Four Agreements are great when you want to be inspired or motivated to keep a positive attitude. My favorite line is in the beginning and it’s the title of this post.anxiety day

The Four Agreements

  1. Be Impeccable With Your Word
  2. Don’t Take Anything Personally
  3. Don’t Make Assumptions
  4. Always Do Your Best

stereo eight and a heart of glass

It’s always something. You think everything is fine and then something shows up to the party and ruins your day. It’s sunny outside and I wore a cute outfit but I can’t help but feel grey. I don’t like feeling this way. I should be happy, it’s the weekend and it’s warm out.  I found this old eight-track tape in Mum’s basement a little while ago.

I wish I had a player to play it.  picture-0591

I sorted through a huge pile of business cards. There’s lots of cool people in that pile.  I think the cards look neat when wrapped and stacked.  I feel like this is the slowest day ever.  It’s one of those day’s i’d watch Closer and listen to Damien Rice I think. There’s heaps cool things in Mum’s basement.  Lots of our old stuff. The movie Yes Man is really funny.  Zack and Miri Make a Porno is one of the worst movies i’ve ever seen.  No link to that one, imbarassed to say I even watched the whole thing. I hope it’s nice out tomorrow.  I could use a vacation day.

not feeling so hot

It’;s raining again today and I woke up with a bit of a tickle in my throat. I hate that feeling. I’m quite tired since I returned from a wild weekend in Florida and now it’s catching up wit hme. The rain really puts a damper on things and the mood of everyone around me is somewhat gloomy and grey.

I could hear Mum’s voice this morning as I received the following Tweet from one of my followers after saying I felt a soar throat.  This is  just what would come out of Mum’s mouth the second I tell her how I feel. oreganoI love you Mum and thanks to Sarah for being on it with the herbal remedies.  The stuff really works but let me tell you, it tasteds like shit.  I’ll pick some up at lunch today and hopefully, the little soldiers will fight off whatever bad guys are making me feel sicky just like in the book.  I also posted a video of driving to Miami, it’s cloudy and kinda gloomy, just like today.

palmerston is beautiful on both sides

I’ve find that biking is toning up my beach body.  This is really nice considering I hate the gym. It gives me anxiety. I’m lucky to have these super mutant-like muscles that when I do any exercise I get almost instant results. minibike Yesterday I was biking to Yorkville for #wiredwedTO and took back streets. Didn’t have helmet on, sorry Mum. Will pick it up this evening just for you. I rode down Palmerston Boulevard, one the most beautiful and truly one of my favorites. minibike3Most of the houses on Palmerston Boulevard were built between 1903 and 1910. It’s a nice one to bike on and there’s hardly any cars. I like it because of the trees and the houses and because a bunch of my family live in Palmerston North, New Zealand.  ‘Young heart, easy living’ they call it.minibike2Palmy (as the Kiwi’s call it) is a very beautiful city north of the capital, Wellington, in the eastern part of the Manawatu Plains, and close to the northern bank of the Manawatu River. I love it there. They have lots of windmills and rolling hills that is absolute bliss. You can see them from the back yard at Nana’s old house where Mum grew up. It’s really pretty.minibike-palmy1

mum says i need a helmet

Last night I had a bbq with some of my besties ever. Our boy @NickiP is visiting from Curacao and we took it to the roof and roasted some meat. The sky was full of colour and the tower was unobstructed.Mum rung me last night knowing that I’m back on the bike and insisted that ask I my online friends to help me find something to protect my head. When I was younger Mum said “No more riding bike without helmet” and from then on I never rode a bike until I moved out of the house. I had a BMX bike in Bondi that had pegs on the back. This red cruiser is my favorite. Please help me find a red helmet that’s not mortifying. I want to wear a helmet. Wearing a helmet may not be ‘the coolest‘ but neither is being brain dead.

Please leave a comment or link or something if you have any suggestions. Mum wants it to be red too.

reminder: one week from today

Next Friday, May 8th, 2009 is a day that commemorates 27 years since I came into the world; my birthday! My Mum, whom I’ve told you a zillion times is tres awesome sent me an early present that arrived today. I love you Mum.

My head is kinda cut off kinda but whatever. If you want to send me something for my birthday or test our your product and need my mailing address, please ask. I’d be more than glad to give it to you, I love getting mail & presents!!

i’d like a ride in a little deuce coupe

Happy it’s Friday, I mean Thursday. Nothing much planned for the weekend because I would really like to rest and be lazy and stay at home and show my TV some TLC. Saw these guys looking pretty in the sunshine on the way to work.

When I was little my Dad had a hot rod shop called ‘Toys for Boys‘. That site is someone else in NSW, Australia but you get it. His shop was B.I. (Before Internet). He made some of the best hot rods around and worked with the now late Boyd Cottington. Dad also worked with the Horton team at Horton Street Rod & Parts in Breslau. Today’s sweatshirt features one of Dad‘s 32′s. I’m pretty sure Mum used to wear it.

sunday boshketball game

Today was rainy but it cleared up after about 1pm. Mum and I walked over to the ACC to see the ball game. Jenie was dancing and we were excited to see her. I don’t really watch any sports as a hobby. I brought my neon pastels to the Raptors game with my Moloeskine and drew some bright stuff. It was fun. So much energy there, it was electric.

Game was exciting, I enjoyed it. Hanging with the fams is really fun. Mum and Jenie & James.
