annoying department: excuse me for a minute

One of the most annoying things ever is when girls (any age) talk about you to other people. I’ve talked about it before and despite getting older, it never seems to go away.

It is especially annoying when it is public, negative, the person has a high profile and they also don’t bother to say it to you directly. I was not Regina George in highschool and didn’t used to have the confidence I do now. I got bullied heaps growing up, mostly by mean girls.

Today I got a message from a friend on my way home from the airport after six hours on airplanes and spending half the day before in an airport…

your tweets & blog post rant about parents with kids at airport is causing a shit storm with parents on fb”

GREAT! Welcome home!

First: Thank you for reading & linking to my blog Erica.

I’m happy to have you as a reader. I’ve been a fan of yours since I was a kid. Circa 1991 here, lookin’ cute.

We both worked at MuchMusic and I’ve often wondered if  we would work on a project together. We both blog & Tweet in Toronto. We have many friends in common. I always though of you as cool with great style.

Second: Why didn’t you comment/say ANYTHING TO ME?

I know you’re not shy. Lots of options, Twitter, Facebook, Fan Page, blog email? I am surprised you would single me out like that to your friends on Facebook without commenting as a mother yourself.

I waited to see if you would say something to me since you were engaging your audience about my blog post. You didn’t. Your comment “what people without kids think of us who have kids” is a silly generalization about those who have kids and those who don’t.

I am one person and this blog is about my life, not all people who don’t have kids.

Third: To the Commenter(s) & Everyone

I am not an asshole for saying it is annoying to let your kids make a wrack and misbehave in a busy public place.

The post before that was about kids & family and my Mum commented on the blog post you linked to (if you bothered to check).

I traveled heaps as a kid with my parents and yes, I for sure made noise, I was a baby/kid. Mum said I was real cute in her comment though,  thanks Mum!

Why didn’t you share your thoughts from a mothers perspective?

Maybe you have some great ideas on how to deal with a situation like I was in?

I had ear phones but you need to listen to the loud speaker for flight information when you are delayed.  They were making it very difficult.

If you have thoughts on something I publish, I’d LOVE to hear about it. This is the sharing economy of internet awesomeness.

There is a difference between being a kid and being a misbehaved bratty child. I posted how I feel about the situation I was in.

Let’s hope this incident inspires people to raise their children with manners & etiquette. We want the younger generation to be kind & respectful. Don’t we?

Also, if you would like to submit something to the brand new Annoying Department, please do that too.

Oh, guess what? I don’t really like animals either. OMG.

P.S. I ordered this awesome unicorn lightsaber t-shirt from Threadless and I Love Katy Perry. She looks so cute in braces. I had braces in high school too. I go see her in concert soon!

yeah baby i wanna party with you.

You know I love Gaga. I’ve told you a bunch of times before. Remember the MMVAs last year? Kingi from Peach Berserk made me a custom dress with all the big performers on it: Bieber, Katy, Drake, Miley.  I was excited.

I worked with some really great people at Much & MTV last year, the MMVA experience is very memorable. My job was Social Media Queen and it was super fun to say the least.  Blog post from MMVA Day 2010 is here.

I’ve got a couple things planned for MMVA weekend this year. One is a party w/ Gaga’s DJ, Lady Starlight. :)

Starlight will be rocking The Velvet Underground (510 Queen St West) after the MMVA’s June 19 in Toronto. Doors open at 11.

I have a list. Do you want to be on it?

rockstar hotel – spoke club #junos

Was at the lovely Spoke Club last night for a super fun Juno party. Olympus XZ is a great party cam. Loved seeing my MuchMTV family & all the other friends. Good people, great time.

Ashley & Kingsley lovely beauties from MuchMTV.

You may recognize this guy from CBC Q, The City or about a zillion other things.

Can someone remind me of this guys name? I have a terrible memory.

Remember Ryan? He was my intern at MuchMTV last year. He’s at Universal now, way to go bro. You’re awesome.

The ever so lovely & beautiful Shera Bechard, Playboy’s Miss November 2010 and star of the film Sweet Karma.

The one & only George Sully. Add him on FB here, he’s doing some cool stuff with his brands and I just might be showing up on the pages of his magazine TCHAD in the near future.

Tash & I used to be good friends. It’s probably been about three years since I saw her. She’s married now, congrats sista. Make sure you call me about your new job btw ;)

So proud of Mike aka Mike’s Bloggity. He’s now the producer for BT in Calgary and a rad blogger. We hung at MMVAs last year for the first time but were friend on the internet way before that.

Brad just left MuchMTV to join Vuse. Totally rad dude. he said I was one of his fav peeps to follow on Twitter, me & SNP. We’re total opposites me & her. Toronto is gonna miss you BSSchwarts.

Last night at the Juno’s, he was this close to big winners Arcade Fire.

Jesse, what’s not to love about this stud. He’s got a new rad show on Much too.

There were a few bands playing downstairs. Morgan, did you play? You gave me your CD and I can’t seem to find it. I think some girls took it when they saw it was you.

Eye spy Sidewalk Hustle

These two jems are Christine & Julie from Seven Dollar Pants and adorable bloggy blog with afforadable fashion & style.

Hey these sweet thang…

Photo bomb #1. I think he snowboards? Can anyone confirm.

Photo bomb #2, haha.

Still lookin’ good ladies. I still have Morgan’s CD too. Hmm.

Billy is my friend from back home in Cambridge, nice to see ya babe!

When I was in Dallas w/ Virgin America for the launch in Declast year I hung out with LMFAO at the Opera House. That was the night I met Richard Brandson & Willie Nelson. These guys are a riot. Really fun & funny.

i’m over you baby, i’m moving on

Richard from Monster Media took this one. Sums up TIFFest pretty good I reckon. Thank you TIFF, Stella and all the agencies and all the people who have had me out to great events and films over the last week or so. It’s been my best year at TIFF ever and I’m throwing in the towel.  Need to rest up and get ready to take on New Zealand. Was at  (diet) Coke party first last night, was fun. They had a photo booth, you know I love that. Rode in a big Coke limo. Fun fun crazy. Shiny disco balls.

Wore some recent goodies I’ve been given last night: Vest + skirt from Old Navy. White shirt + boots from Marks WW. Heart locket H&M. Lipstick is Poppy from Joe Fresh new makeup collection. Thanks guys.

Boots are quite lovely. Nice colour and salt proof. Gonna test that hard this winter, walking in snow banks.

Andrew F Stewart & Rannie, Photojunkie.

Sent Rochelle to Festival Music House in my place but then I showed up anyways later. Was a guestlist asshole bringing people. I don’t like to do that but it was necessary last night. Appreciate Rock-It Promo for being so kind to me and not being mad at me.

This looks good on me. Brocklyn was a hit again last night. Rising star he is. Watch it.

Carly is his agent now. Her talent roster is a garden of awesome in bloom.

Woke up to a message that I’ve got a minder/wrangler for NZFW. She’s a NZ hottie who goes by the name of Venus Tong, she is the head bitch at Party of Wolves, nightlife photography. I’ve also got a car picking me up at the airport. Hoping a handsome man in uniform is holding a sign with my name on it. Fingers crossed!

I love life. We are dating, we might even get married. Yes, crazy it sounds but crazy I am so whatever. Now in a comitted relationship. I have never loved anyone or anything the way I love LIFE.

XO CASIE

TIFF day two: apparently somebody is famous

Oh man. Was in bed all day today. I need to rest. I am almost Tiff’d out. Premiere tonight thanks the lovely Cadillac Insider. Going to see CLIENT 9 The rise and fall of Eliot Spitzer. Have to go get my tickets but I don’t want to go outside yet. It sounds windy. Not as sunny today.

Yesterday was an awesome day, an awesomely looooong day. Yorkville all day Tastmakers Gifting Lounge for  nails done, makeup and more. Thanks for the presents guys! That neighbourhood is growing on me, could also be that it is Film Fest so buzzing. Joe Fresh makeup is really nice. My lipstick didn’t leave marks when kissing cheeks of all the zillion people I saw throughout the day.

Diesel Lounge for lunch on the patio and a mini photo shoot with hot NY photog Raphael Mazzucco. He is apparently a pretty big deal, shooting covers of Time, Sports Illustrated and Victoria’s Secret. Can’t wait to get those photos. He was also very good looking;  tall, long hair, charming.

Went to Vitamin Water Backyard Social. Was fun. Did this interview with O’Nizz and had my phototaken heaps. I could really get used to this kinda stuff. Met a few peeps that made a point to come say hi and were really happy to meet me for the first time. HI GUYS!

Vitamin Water party had a great bar, top shelf selection. Food was good too. Everyone was on Twitter which was fun. Hardly took any pics of my own. This is Blondetourage member, singer/actress and also ex-MTV babe Anna Cyzon. We in love, she has a great look eh. Blonde Jovi. haha

Went to private secret location roof thing on King Street after with some friends then home to change for the CBC party at the Hazelton. I took Morgan Ross as my date from the band Birds of Wales. We had fun, he is a babe. Photo booth at Strombo’s party was great. More parties should have those. I have about 10 strips of photos.

So many cool peeps at the Hazelton party, real celebs. I can’t even remember everyone’s names but Juliette Lewis was there. She is great. Apparently I am kinda known around CBC, some lovely exec’s were like “we know who know exactly who you are”. Hiiiiiiiiii! Please put me on a show, I’d be great at that.

This is Tobin. Once he paid he $5 to Tweet something nice about him. Man of the night Strombo w/ Brocklyn. Brock’s new nick name is sticking and he will grow to like it. He kinda looks like that Twilight vampire dude eh?

I can’t remember her name but she is an actress I think. Sweet thing.

I found this shirt to be quite amusing.

JULIA! We were in American Pie: Beta House together a couple years back. Total babe. My glasses are from FyshNation, they are new. You likey?

Meredith! Actress/blogger. She was one of the Top Bloggers when Notable TV did that list. She looks so cute in my glasses. Last Gang Entertainment boys Trevor & Dougie.  Nice dudes.

Traci Melchor from ET Canada is such a darling. We would always complilement each others outfits when I worked at CTV. You know Chris from Designer Guys ya? Same pose/glasses face. Cute.

I am feeling less like punching myself in the face now and more like getting back onthe TIFF train. Hitting up Nikki Beach with my sister after the premiere tonight. Going to something super exclusive tomorrow, Vitamin Water House party Steve Nash movie thingy. I was asked to attend yesterday. Heard the guest list is A-Listers and there will be paps out front. Have a tea party Sunday afternoon for an Aussie comedy movie called JUCY. I keep saying to myself “this is my life, this is my life”. I only ever dreamed I would be doing all this cool stuff.

One week from today I will be getting on a plane to New Zealand for Fashion Week. Did I tell you I am flying premium on the upper deck?  Oh yeah, gonna be my best flight to New Zealand ever. I need to sleep on that place cause once I get there, work starts. Please pray the earthquakes stop. There was another one today.

Must go get movie tickets and get ready to do it all again. I need to fit a disco nap in before I head out this evening. I have no idea what time I got home last night but I reckon it was late. 4am last call and open bar means time really flies. They say that’s what happens when you’re having fun, eh?

Happy TIFF-ing!

TIFFriday.

Last night was fun. I was with Carly, Down With Webster boys, Brock, and some socialy types. Ran into Randall from MuchMusic & Matt the DWW boys stylist and other  cool people. These are my friends.

Vandilism.

My babes.

Hey do you
?

DWW Kyle & his Mrs.

Brocklyn.

Carly reporting for Sean Ward.

I have no time today. I would love to lay in bed and watch TV but I need to be at the Four Seasons really soon then the gifting lounge at the other hotel and then the Hazelton for something else. After that I need to scoot home and change then meet my hot date who is in a band and take him as arm candy to the CBC big deal party at the Hazelton again. TIFF is tiring, this is only day 2. zomg. BYEEEEEEEEE!

see you on the red carpet my lovelies

This morning was great. I went to the Toronto Fashion Incubator and met Canadian Designer Paris Li. Thanks to my friend Jas Banwait who set it all up. I tried on three dresses. See the Twitpics here! Went with dress #3. It fit me so well and looked cute/classy. I’m planning to wear it to the opening party for NZFW. I leave in 9 days. Oh emm geee!

Getting ready to head to The Drake Hotel this afternoon for a TIFF party & movie. Meeting Carly & my guest,  Brock McLaughlin from The Futurists who is very close to becoming a new VJ for MuchMusic. I really hope he gets it. He will deff bring cool to MM!

Listening to YACHT (@teamyacht). They are great! Byeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I’ve got something to tell you…

Ladies & gentlmen, it is without regret that I inform you I have left CTV as the Social Media Girl for MuchMusic & MTV Canada.  I’m excited about what’s in store and I’m really excited to take on new projects.  If you’ve got a cool project you want to talk to me about, I’m happy to finally say, I’m available (professionally speaking that is). heh heh.

Really looking forward to seeing all the Tweeps and meeting new faces tonight at TweetgasmTO, the Gladstone’s first ever Tweetup.  If you’re around, come by and say helloooooo! Here’s all the info you need to know. I’ll be on the dancefloor cuttin’ a rug and doing high kicks as per usual.

riot girl in a burning car lights the world on fire

I was published in an article for canada.com about the G20.

“For others, the G20 party is all about that once-in-a-lifetime experience of feeling trapped in an apocalyptic-themed movie. Toronto blogger Casie Stewart lives a stone’s throw from the west end of the security zone, and says she plans on hosting up to 15 people from her “sniper view” apartment balcony.” [article]

Shit got CRAY-CRAY yesterday. Car on fire, tear gas, guns, breaking shit blah blah. Good thing they spent ALL that dosh on police. Heard this AM they arested over 400 people. Who? Hopefully none of my peeps. It was totes faaaaaacked up.

This is right outside my work @muchmusic.

the earth moved me, shakey shake.

I think my first earthquake was in 1990 but i don’t really remember. Today I was sitting at my desk, working away when I noticed my monitor shaking and the table and me. Naturally, I tweeted. This is what happened…

We’ve had crews taking down the MMVA stage from the roof and the street car goes by all the time so at first I didn’t think it was anything. When it went on for about 30 seconds I knew something was up. Pretty crazy. Even crazier that we got the first Super Swarm in CANADA. Woot.
