Have you seen this yet? Clicked the fancy ad in my sidebar for the new HTC One? If you did, you’ll notice it’s for a big contest with HTC to win a phone and social + blog mentorship from none other than yours truly! This is my second partnership with HTC in the last couple years.
I was given the phone a few weeks ago and almost all the photos I’ve published here since have been shot with the HTC One. The selfie cam on this lil’ thing is the best I’ve seen and the reviews of it are great! I posted a bunch of photos over the weekend and a collection in this post here. The phone itself is made of aluminium and the home screen is a feed of all my social activity and news.
HTC is looking to help someone take their blog to the next level by offering them mentorship from a famous successful blogger. You’ll win the HTC One, mentorship, and you’l be published right here on THIS IS MY LIFE.
To enter, click the ad in my sidebar and follow to the box that says “ARE YOU THE NEXT INFLUENCER?” For hard core tech info about the HTC One, visit htc.com. It’s now available in Canada
The clouds flying in to Toronto this morning at 6am were so incredibly beautiful. It was like a movie. Floating through the air with these big fluffy things. It was turbulent and lightening ready to strike any moment. I could see it flashing across the sky in clusters f clouds. All I could think was ‘please get us safely to the ground’.
The landing was smooth and I exited the airport within about 15 minutes. Photos are taken with HTC One and the video was magically put together by the phone’s photo assistant, Zoe. She’s awesome! I’m planning to show her off in an upcoming Coral episode of THIS. Subscribe to the channel at youtube.com/coral.
It’s so lovely outside. If you’re stuck in the office make sure you pop outside for a tour around the block, catch some rays.
Have a beautiful day,
CASIE
This was a neat social campaign from YVR during their construction. They asked people to share photos on Instagram and Twitter tagged #YVRCANADA then displayed them in large stickers in the airport as it is being renovated. Vancouver, I like you.
When I type Disaronno my phone changes it to disarming. Always makes me thing of the movie ‘Closer’ that word. It’s cloudy with a chance of rain here today. We’re getting set up for Disaronno Mixing Star Vancouver. The Toronto event is end of May.
It’s been one week with the new HTC One and I can say two things, I’ve never been stopped so much for someone to look at a device and I don’t really miss my iPhone. I’ve literally been stopped (by dudes mostly) in the elevator, at Target, at bars, and at dinner, just to show it off and have them touch it. It’s a good feeling.
I took all these photos with my new HTC One over the last couple days. I’ve really been enjoying the weather

I’ve taken over 400 photos, lots of selfies, and posted a few videos in the last week. The front facing cam on this baby is out of this world, you’ve never had selfies so fresh. There’s a couple photo skills I’m working on but overall, this is the best phone camera I‘ve ever had. Last week I went to a training session and it was super cool to learn about the technology behind this little guy. The pixels are bigger than other phone cameras which makes the images clearer. All the apps and features on the phone come with sharing options, so, for someone like me who is a Tweets, blogs, and creates heaps of content, it’s perfect.
HTC is launching a MASSIVE contest and I’m part of the prize. That’s all I can say for now. Keep your eyes here for details. I’m looking forward to telling you about it!
Loving my new HTC One. I’ve got a campaign launching with them any day now. As soon as the link is live I’ll share with you. This phone was MADE for someone like me. I had training on it yesterday at lunch. There are sharing and social components to every aspect of it. I took a bunch of photos & used Zoe, the photo assistant on my way to work today and it made this video from all the content. I didn’t edit the video, add effects, or music, it was ALL DONE BY THE PHONE. THE FUTURE IS NOW.
I am so in love with this weather. Woke up with a smile and biked to work early. Life is good. This is my favourite month, my birthday is on May 8th.
I don’t talk much about Internet security but for someone who uses heaps of apps and has tons of info online, I really should pay more attention to this stuff! I know my girl Keri Blog will be happy I’ve learned about this app, she’s all about security. LOOK KERI A SECURITY APP!
My Permissions App
A friend showed me this app the other day and I was shocked to see ALL the sites who had access to my social info. It’s so easy to sign with Twitter, Instagram, Facebook these days that you forget the app can still creep your data.
My Screenshots
I had NO idea (because I forgot) that I had my Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc. were connected to SO MANY apps I no longer use. You can check your own social security at mypermissions.com. Huzzah!
Last week on Coral TV I talked about one of my fav new apps. It’s called Vine and it’s from Twitter. Vine allows you to shoot and edit at the same time by touching the screen with your finger. Once created, you upload the six second loop and share to Vine, Twitter, or Facebook. I love that the Vine can be viewed within the Twitter app. I made a GIF of the episode because I love making GIFs.
I’ve been part of the short video evolution over the last few years with 12seconds.tv, Keek, Viddy, GIF apps, and now Vine. It’s amazing to be a creator when technology is always changing.
Remember that time I was at SXSW with James Franco? Yeah, well I do. One of my latest iPhone downloads is this app called Superimpose. It’s 99c and allows you to superimpose yourself into any background, anytime, anywhere. No vacation time? No problem. Go on a Google Earth vacation and shop yourself into a pic and share that baby to Facebook!
I took a Hailo to work this morning not remembering (you know my bad memory) that this episode was coming out today. Ha! I totally LOVE this app. It’s honestly the BEST way to taxi yourself around. No calling an operator, no fiddling with cash at the drop off, and they drivers are nice. I haven’t called a Beck in weeks. Thanks Hailo! Download the app here and use ‘TORONTO’ for $5 off your first ride. I’d love to know about your experience so LMK in the comments on or the Twitter.
Please ignore the wings on my hair in this video. I’m really self conscious about it.
This was at Ottawa Fashion Week after walking the runway wearing Rachel Sin for the closing celebrity show. SO much fun.
I totally remember taking this photo and laying in my bed with the sun on my face before going to work. I worked in Liberty Village for an online gaming & casino company. Made lots of good friends there. The thing I love most about his app it that it helps your memory. So many things happen in a day that it’s hard to keep track. I take a lot of photos and this app, keeps all my blog & social media memories alive.
