Ticket to the Art of Sales Conference for Tuesday

I’ve attended both The Art of Leadership and The Art of Marketing and left each event inspired with new thoughts in my pocket. My friends at The Art of… have got it going on. There’s a bunch of great people who make these massive events happen.

Tuesday at MTCC is The Art of Sales, a unique one-day conference featuring five amazing international speakers. One of them is NYT best selling author Seth Goodin (125k+ on @Twitter). I’ve never met Seth but I know his blog and he also works with SAY Media.

I have 2 tickets for you to attend.

If you would like to go then watch this and tell me your favourite part in the comments. I will take both winners out for lunch on conference day. Approximate value of each prize = $450/ticket + lunch experience/pricele$$. BONUS!

Conference is at Metro Toronto Convention Centre and goes from 8:30am-4:30pm, Tuesday November 22. [How is it almost DECEMBER? ahh.]

If you are in sales you probably have a fav line and will like that I posted this. If you are in sales and you have NOT seem this then…

PUT THAT COFFEE DOWN. Coffee’s for closers only.

If you have never commented, it’s easy, don’t like, be shy. I’m not shy. Winning is fun. Watch the video leave’ a commento and win. Voila!

Her life was her movie. Yours can be is yours.

Seeing ‘My Week with Marilyn’ tonight. Looking forward to Michelle Williams as her, I like them both. Thanks to AMy @ Alliance Films for the tix.

Her life is a love story (Marilyn). It’s like a love story with her life and herself with herself and everyone else who plays a role. If you think about life like that you might  will  be more interesting. You’ll have more experiences too.

On the plane home from Costa Rica I watched Jim Carey’s Poppers Penguins and Rise of the Planet of the Apes. I love Jim Carey, not so into animal/kid movies but it was cute. Apes was good, I liked it. Cool SF scenes, Franco is a babe and the apes were cool.

After a week in the jungle with real monkeys it was perfect to watch that movie.  Catching up on the Y&R before I go to bed. It’s nice to be home.

This little monkey is back in the concrete jungle …

My life is my movie and, you’re in it! Thank you

It’s nice to be home but I want to go away again!

Nice box you have there.

I hope it doesn’t take long to set this up cause I wanna play right MEOW!!

P.S. New Ting Tings came out today. Man I love this girl. I saw them at MOD Club like, before they were huge circa 2008. So hipster. Enjoyeeeeeeeeeee!!

I won a car live on YouTube, not even kidding.

Remember how I was like “Come to YD Square, first youtube.ca live event ever” blah blah blah. Well, let this be your lesson that you should listen to me more often.

Well, I went and test drove the new Chevy Volt during the #chevroletallday event. It’s electric and was really quiet & smooth to drive, had some kick too.

Vrooooooom.

Keri drove too. She’s a really good driver.

Cute graffiti artist boy who was part of my Arm Yourself event at YD Square last year was there.

This guy :) Still cute.

Three finalists who answered their phones after txting in were called up on stage.

First up, didn’t start the car, next was me, my key started it. OH MY GAWDDDD. Check me out in my new Chevy Sonic. It’s small & cute which is exactly what I would want if I was going to get a car. I’m really excited to roadtrip!

Me & the lovely Peter Cornu, Manager of Special Events for General Motors of Canada. Hey Peter, let’s work together!

I’m in shock that I won and all kinds of grown up questions are coming at me from everyone. I don’t know If I can take a buy out, I have no idea about insurance, I don’t think it’s a lease,  yes I want sunroof, no I can’t come pick you up yet, and I think I get it soon. OMFG I WON A CAR. For SURE getting a lotto ticket for tonight. If I win lotto you can go ahead & hate me but I promise to do good with the money :)

What are you doing next Thursday evening? I’m speaking at Workplace One about social media & branding along with Daryl from Lou Dawgs/NextStep Consulting and Sheldon from Sysomos. Workplace One is a shared boutique office space for entrepreneurs, professionals and anyone in between. It’s gorgeous in there!

This is a free event and a great opportunity to learn about social media for your small business or personal brand. We’ll be talking branding, analytics, monitoring, how to grow your audience and more.  Food had been generously donated by  Lou Dawgs and beverages by Natural Vines and Steamwhistle.

We have limited space available so please register sooner than later. For more information see the event page here or leave your questions in the comments. Hope you can make it :)

A prize for you from us & @Marks. Come get it!

Over the past year I’ve gotten to know Mark’s as they’ve been changing their brand and TBH, they’re way more stylish than I remember as a kid. Yesterday they had a fashion show and we couldn’t make it but we’re giving you a $50 gift card so you can check out their new Fall Lookbook.

This time last year I went on a mega shopping spree before New Zealand Fashion Week and picked out all my favourite things.

In other words, if you have been paying attention, winning this contest will be easy for you.

Here’s how to win:

Click here or the image below to see the lookbook & comment your pick. Good luck :)

I will send the gift card in the mail with a little note with hopes to make your day. Good luck!

Redefinition: A re-definition can change the world.

This year’s TedX theme was Redefinition “A changing definition can be the most powerful force on Earth. A re-definition can change the world.”. Great job by the entire team. I left Friday feeling inspired, that we are the future and we are changing the world around us.

Took some street style to see what the smart kids were wearing Friday at TedXToronto.

Lots of babes in the house. When I say house I mean Royal Conservatory of Music, Telus Centre.

Awesome work by the organizing team  (below). See the guy on the far right? Co-Chair Ryan Merkley and I served as founding members of the Youth Advisory Committee Council in Cambridge 10+ years ago. I was Director of Public Relations, he was Chair. We governed youth issues that affected Cambridge youth with the City Council. That was my first real experience with PR!

Dr. Draw was amazing on the violin. Dancers were great too.

Loved this kid, Nicholas, 17 year old math whiz who’s invented a new way to micro search the web. Fascinating.

Great talk by David Miller.

Afterparty was at Steamwhistle! Lovely to hang out with my kiwi girl Kristen.

O’Nizz and I love photobooth.

Toronto International Film Fest: Tastemakers Lounge

When celebrities come to town for TIFF they get invited to lounges to see & receive new & exciting products. Media get invites too. It’s a way for companies to get their products in the hands of stars and journalists. The Tastemakers Lounge is hosted by RockIt and they do an excellent job of bringing together brands & people. I took my PA Kate for the experience it and too take photos.

New glasses from FYSH. Thanks Team!

I picked out new glasses from FYSH NATION last year too. This is me rockin’ them w/ Morgan Ross at Strombo’s TIFF party.

Next it was time to pick out bracelets and charms from PANDORA.

Kate  took home a few goodies too.

Kate chose macrame black leather and I picked sterling silver. See all the styles here.

I chose a wee little birdy. Twitter <3

Planning to have some serious game nights this winter cause Mattel has hooked me up with rad games. I picked up and ANGRY BIRDS sling shot! REAL ANGRY BIRDS! I played it at their Mattel Game Night over the summer. It’s fun.

Was given this gorgeous silk eyemask from Cilque and OH MY GOD I slept with it last night. My eyes were in the clouds and I had an amazing sleep. I’m dying for a set of Cilque sheets and robe to match.

Made friends with team Sharpie. I carry Sharpie’s with me all the time and had one in my purse to proove it.

Then Kate and I raided the drawers. Got limited edition 80′s glam colours too!

Told the team how I always start out with Sharpie for tattoo ideas. I drew this bracelet tatt on my left arm on with two different green Sharpie’s for about three years before I got it. If you draw something cool you can upload it to the Sharpie site here.

Got this styling yellow hat from Nathaniel Cole. I paired it with a lumberjack black & red and those boots I got yesterday, Canadian Tuxedo ready to rock. It’s soft & warm and as a hat lover, can’t wait to bring this baby out.

Always a pleasure to see the team at RockIt. Thank you for inviting me :)

New Lens for my PENs!

Deliver from Olympus today. New lens! Asked if they had any kicking around I could play with and voila. This is what they sent over. So far, it’s preeeeeettttty rad. Retail on it is $329 an it is for the Olympus PEN2. Product info here.

Scrape.

Zoom is intense. I can see so far.

I can creep so far.

This is my friends condo across the street. I don’t think he’s home.

This is looking down about 40 stories.

Boat love. Love boats.

Weeeeeee.

Scooting downstairs to get some lunch then back up to get ready for photoshoot for a new top secret campaign that is national and on the internet. Starts in September and runs till December so you’ll know about it when it happens!

Happy Friday!

Sapporo Sound Den meets Toronto at Cheval

This week I was treated like (social) royalty by the Sapporo team. Thank you. Arrived with my crew to be walked in right away and set up with a booth fully stocked with Goose and buckets of beer.

Stay classy. Spice up your beer drinking by using a champagne glass. Party tips from a pro.

Black fortune cookies.

My fortune.

I wore a turban for part of the night. Not a REAL turban like my friend here, mine was all in the name of style, from the church of Forever 21. haha (First thing I ever bought there. I’d not been to one before last weekend!)

Jacks, my darling senior publicist babe for Global Television. ILU.

Team awesome.

Been a fan of the Sapporo for years so was a pleasure to meet the team. I’ll make sure these vouchers go to good use.

Let’s hang out again some time :)
