I made a custom lipstick, meet ‘n00d’. Thank you @BiteBeauty! #BiteLipLabTO

The other day we drove past the BITE Lip Lab on Queen, it was snowing, and there was this gorgeous man standing in the window. I stared at him and then I was like ‘omg I know him, that’s Christopher!’. Hadn’t seen him in forever, sent him a FB, then he invited me in to make a custom lipstick. I’d like you to meet my first BITE/CASIE colour: ? ‘in the nude’, ‘send nudes’ what should I call my new BITE/CASIE lipstick!? ?✌? Made this today w/ @christopher_aaron_slade, initials engraved on the bottom! So cool! TY for inviting me in today, I loved every minute of it! #TGIF #bitelipstick #biteliplabto A photo posted by ? C A S I E S T E W A R T (@casiestewart) on Feb 3, 2017 at 1:41pm PST The Lip Lab is on Queen just West of Bathurst. Heaps of colours and I love how they’re displayed on the wall. You can add up to two flavours to your lipstick. I did mint (only).  I’m happy, it’s refreshing. I bet there’s some pretty great combos with these tho. It didn’t take that long! I loved the first colours we mixed up and then Christopher got the ingredients, mixed it, chilled it on a cold plate, and put it in a tube. Then they engrave it for you at no extra charge. Before I knew it, I had my very own unique lipstick, with my initials, and I waltzed off into the sunshine! ☀️ Now I want to make a bright red and peachy one for spring. ? If you’re interested in stopping by, here’s your options. ▼ They said it’s super popular for mother daughter, bffs, sisters. I was there 3pm on a Friday and it wasn’t busy when I got there but there were more people…

NEW LOOK, WHO DIS | 2017 Partnership w/ @SassoonToronto

I wanted to get my hair cut before I went to LA and Vegas, but it just didn’t happen. I was been feeling pretty dumpy, the ‘I need a haircut’ feeling can really get you down. However, the day before I left for California I received an email at the bank and said ‘YESSSSS’ out loud to my phone while in line. It was from Matte PR who works with Sassoon Salon,  inviting me to be an ambassador for the brand. I love Sassoon’s precision, have a ton pinned on my Beauty Board and remember that super funky black/blonde I had about 2 years ago, total Sassoon style. My hair has a HUGE impact on my style, it shows off my personality and it’s part of my overall ‘look’ or ‘brand’ if you wanna call it that. If you’ve known me for a while, you know short blonde hair is MY THING. Short/blonde is also SUPER HIGH MAINTENANCE, having a partner to work with elevates pretty huge expense plus I love having experts on hand. I really enjoyed my first experience at Sassoon which is great because this hair is a sizeable time investment every couple weeks. In case you’re not familiar, The blonde can go yellow/brassy and the cut looks sloppy if not cut on the regular.  My New Cut Colour ?????? SUPER SHORT. Loving my new hair so much. This was first my first appt at @sassoontoronto and it may just look like short blonde to you but this hair is VERY HIGH MAINTENANCE. The perfect blonde takes hours and a good short cut takes precision. ✂️ I feel SO MUCH happier than I did last week! My hair has a big impact on how I feel and last week after being in LA, I really started feeling the January blues. A good cut/colour…

Knix That! Only Good Vibes Here! #SpinInYourSkin

Last week I did my first spin class at Spokehaus. I loved it so much, it was really intense and I was so sweaty. I felt great the next day, I could feel it in my muscles but I wasn’t dying. It was a great workout. I’m planning to go back and do it again. Last night I slept funny an now can hardly move my head, good for blogging bad for anything else. The goal of the class that day was to KNIX bad words or insecurities you might have been carrying around, to set yourself free. For everyone who did the class in Knix Wear, a bra and undies were donated to CAMH. WATCH THE VIDEO “Over 120 incredible women knixed their insecurities by spinning in their skin and, all together, we took one big step towards loving ourselves. ” – read more

Doing My First Spin Class Today! ? #SpinInYourSkin in Support of CAMH

It’s a rainy day and I’ve been working from my bed office. It’s just so warm and cozy! I recently made some big changes to our loft bedroom upstairs where I do most of my work. I’ve got the Y&R on my iPad Pro and I’m typing away on that great little table I made (this one). I’m leaving any minute now  to a shoot at Spokehaus for their #spininyourskin class in partnership with knixwear. They’re hosting a first-ever class focused on body positivity, while giving back. A photo posted by Elly Mayday (@ellymaydayofficialfanpage) on Jan 14, 2017 at 11:29pm PST Anyone who choses to #Spininyourskin (aka your knixwear bra & undies, ah!) multiple undergarments will be donated to CAMH Foundation (Center for Addiction and Mental Health). They’re really in need of  bras for incoming patients so if exercise with a bunch of rad babes can help them out, I’m down. Also gets me out of the house for a good sweat! They’ll still donate a bra if you do the class in your clothes. It’s hosted by model and body-positivity spokesperson Elly Mayday.  There are more classes tonight if you want to sign up. Knixwear is hooking us up with boy shorts and a sports bra and we are going to spin in our skin. The thing is I’ve never actually done a spinning class and I’m a little worried I might PUKE. I’m kinda NERVOUS ABOUT THIS OMG WHAT AM I DOING. I feel more confident about my body since my surgery this summer. Before the new boobs, wearing a sports bra, or any bra was uncomfortable, not to mention how much I hated working out with those things. I’m going into this workout with an open heart and maybe, just maybe, I’ll like it?! UPDATE NEXT DAY: I loved the class. It was so intense! I…

How to Have a Stress Free Holiday Shopping Experience

On Friday night I went shopping with Emily for some snow pants downtown. I honestly don’t know what I was thinking because like, 1) it was Black Friday, 2) I couldn’t find a park, 3) it was annoying carrying stuff. I should have gone to Yorkdale. I tested out RBC’s Avion Holiday Boutique before it opened the other day and they’ve really put some thought into making your trip to Yorkdale a pleasant one. RBC Avioners get complimentary valet, coat check, parcel check, snacks, drinks, gift wrapping, and a nice spot to be chill at. You can also test out their new VR Experience. Once you’ve left the car with Yorkdale Valet, waltz into the Avion Holiday Boutique, and check your coat. Grab a coffee, water, and sit down in a white leather chair, with a cold cucumber infused water, and delicious cookie. [Same cookies they have on Porter Airlines!] Scroll your list using free wifi and make a plan. Sometimes when I’m out and about all I want is to sit down, collect my thoughts, and have a glass of water. Y’know?! Before leaving the boutique, go on a 2minute beach vacation via VR. It’s really quite amazing how the sights and sounds of the beach will calm you down.  Take your experience next level by downloading the Avion Passport App (text “AVION” to 722722 or search in app store). In the app you get exclusive offers, faster gift wrapping services at the RBC Avion Boutique,  and you can text valet to bring the car around,  ? Thanks RBC for inviting me to be a partner and share this experience. Great job on the RBC Avion Boutique! For info about getting yourself on the RBC Avion VIP train, visit this link. The card is packed with travel rewards and you can use now your RBC Rewards at Best Buy and the Apple Store.…

Best Buy Life & Tech Show @ YD Square

Last week I went to two wearables events sponsored by Best Buy Canada. Fashion and tech are two of my fav things so being part of, and covering events like this is so much fun. On Wednesday night was the We Are Wearables event at MaRS where I took the runway as a model. Ya, me! Took me back to my teenage years!  The following night I attended the Best By Life & Tech event at Yonge Dundas Square. In this post, I’m sharing some of my fav tech and moments from the show. ???

The Boxed Water #ReTree Project & Brands That Give Back

It doesn’t seem that long ago I was at WayHome North of Barrie. It was a lot more Coachella-ish this year with the huge ferris wheel. Aside from going to the festival, I spent a bunch of time in the lake at the cottage because it was SO HOT. I kept hydrated with Boxed Water and paired that with my TOMS sunnies & shoes for comfort & style, all while doing a bit of good for the world. ? ? I love when brands adopt a business model that gives back to an organization or cause. If you read my recent post on Skincare Stuff You’ll Find in My Summer Bag you’ll know that Boxed Water donates 2 trees for each mention of #ReTree on social. This summer alone, Boxed Water has planted 250,000 trees with the help of people like us. Their goal is to plant 1 million!  How is Boxed Water helping the environment? – 74% of packaging is made from trees, a renewable resource – They ship boxes flat to their filler, lowering our carbon footprint – They use a thin foil barrier for freshness and HDPE for the waterproof liner and cap – The entire carton is recyclable and 100% BPA free – Trees used in their boxes come from well-managed forests – As a member of 1% For The Planet, Boxed Water commits at least one percent of their total sales annually to reforestation The Biz Model of Giving Back I’ve gotten a few compliments on these shoes and glasses (above) and would you believe they’re TOMS? They’ve moved on from those canvas shoes we were all wearing a couple years ago to more fashion forward items that adopt their one-for-one model. It started with shoes and now the company provide glasses & sight surgery through eyewear, improved access to water, and more. TOMS paved the way for the buy-one give one model, inspiring others…

My Love for Great Glasses

If I was to point out a similarity with my photos over the years it’s that you can usually find a pair of glasses on my face. I love them. There’s about 5,970 results in Google of ‘casiestewart + glasses”.  I’ve amassed a huge collection over the years and part of that is thanks to polette eyewear from France. I’ve been on their global blogger team for almost 2 years now! A long time ago I used to wear these dark black rimmed glasses, this black & white photo was my Twitter profile from 2008 to about 2011. These glasses reminded me of Andy Warhol and they were my favourite. It was years before I found another pair I liked just as much (this one from polette) and then I lost them. Well, I ordered them again and I’m happy to have them back. Casual and easy to wear, perfect for everyday. Find the polette Combinasion here. * they are currently sold out!  My second fav pair of glasses is the e-divergent from polette. I always get compliments on them. Best part? They’re specially tinted to protect your eyes from screen damage. The slight tint will decrease chances of getting a ‘screen headache’ and tired eyes. The frame is also entirely hand polished. Sean makes fun of them almost every single time I wear them, saying they’re my ‘Drake Glasses’. I don’t care, they’re awesome! And so is Drake, heard this yet? My latest sunglasses are quite different from each other but both awesome! The Magnesia have sun lenses that pop off to make them into glasses. These are badass. They remind me of Dwayne Wayne flip up glasses. The Elektra are a more high fashion style that totally reminds me of Lady Gaga. The butterfly shaped frame offers optimum UV400. Fashion & function, honey! The…

Winners & Marshalls FW 2016

Last week I went to the Fall Winter preview for Winners & Marshalls in Canada. Winners holds a special place in my heart because ever since one opened in Cambridge, ON (my hometown) mum and I always made a date of going to check out the merch. Right before Labour Day weekend and also late January are the best times to get the Winners clearance deals. I can’t tell you how many times I found a real bargain, something most people would pick over, consider too wild, or weird, then come next season it was totally the rage. FYI Spring Sale @ Polette Eyewear – 25% off!

It’s spring and who doesn’t love new sunnies! The eyewear company in France I’ve been rocking for the past 2 years has a sale on rn for 25% off! Use code ‘Spring’ at the checkout, sale ends on April 26th. Writing a quick post from the cottage as I’ve been working my BOOTY off doing yard week etc around this place to get it ready for summer.  I’ve been taking time to relax since my Costa Rica trip, that digital detox was like hitting the reset button. I’m looking forward to a great week! I’ve been part of the Polette Blogger team for a bit now and amassed a big collection. I love that they’ve got heaps of different styles, new ones all the time, and you can afford to pick up more than one pair. They’re got a new means of distribution cutting out rhe middle man and sending you glasses right from their factory where they have a lab and lenses. They’ve got great prices and so many original frames. I love getting their emails because there are SO MANY NEW ONES all the time. I never leave home without my sunnies no matter time of day or season, but I also find I lose/break a few along the way. These are a few of my favs! A photo posted by ? Fashion | Celebrating Spring Style w/ Hudson’s Bay & Fashion Magazine

During fashion week I worked with   Denim & Supply Ralph Lauren to celebrate spring style with Hudson’s Bay and Fashion Magazine. The event was in the contemporary department on the 3rd floor and there was no shortage of activations including a Sandro sponsored photo booth, Maje sponsored nail bar (gold nails!), BCBG sponsored gelato bar (chocolate coconut? yes, yum), an amazing fashion illustrator, candy bar, and mojito bar.  Here’s some of my fav ? from the night. Most are from Snapchat & iPhone 6s but the pro ones are by David A Pike. Before the event I stopped by the Denim & Supply section at HBC to check out key trends for Spring/Summer 16 season. Things to note – cropped denim (cute for tall and perfect for short peeps like moi), dresses (top I’m wearing is a dress), wovens, anything white, and shredded denim. I really love white denim for summer, and picked a pair of the cropped whites for myself. I was really torn between this white dress and the military jacket. There are a bunch of great jeans and tops as well. I think I’ll go back for the cropped denim jacket. Gotta have at least one of those in the wardrobe.

Fashion | #tbt 90s Street Style

A couple years ago Lauren and I were show by Becca Lemire for Pink Mafia with Anna Von. Mica styled us up in this RAD vintage gear, overalls, florals, Versace, bomber jackets, all pared with big glasses and bandanas. It was super fun! I hardly had any tattoos back then, the big one on the inside of my arm is fake. I found one of these photos in a search for pix Loz and I yesterday and wanted to re-live them all. We rolled up this this old school barber shop on Dundas and snapped a few shots in there. The old Pink Mafia office is in a super old building at Bay & Dundas with a cool old elevator and fire escape. The Converse I’m wearing were customized to say ‘Casie’ at a Marcus Troy MMVA event in 2011. I love searching the archives. Can you believe next month is 11 years blogging? DAMNNNN. Time flies when you’re having fun. that’s why you need t document, so you don’t forget.

Oscars, Awkwards, My Fav Dresses, & Behind the Scenes

Watch the awards last night? They seemed to go on forever! I’m glad, along with the entire internet that Leo finally won. There were some totally WTF moments, Stacey Dash, those three Asian kids? I know people are upset about the lack of black nominees but I wasn’t expecting the ENTIRE show and all the commentary to be about it. I don’t find Chris Rock to be that funny. Everything that came out of his mouth was about race, everything! Jokes about Will & Jada were mean, the ‘black bloke from Star Wars — Darth Vader’, using those kids as a  joke was rude. The show used to be so much fun and last night, everything was SO political. Then, you have these crusty people who didn’t even clap for a winner. [vine id=”igWT9HBUnXp”] In other news, my friend Joey Salmingo was on the red carpet for E!. It was so neat to follow along his behind the scenes, oh y’know, hanging out with Ryan Seacrest and all. Just chillin’ at the Roosevelt Hotel with my new bestie, @RyanSeacrest.. I’ll see ya next year, if you’re invited back, haha!  A video posted by Articulate Eats (@joeysalmingo) on Feb 28, 2016 at 9:03pm PST My friend Kelsey was a producer on ‘Claude Lanzmann: Spectres of the Shoah’ that was nominated for Best Documentary Short along with Adam Benzine.
