it ain’t that easy baby

Building a new blog. SO many tweaks and stuff and things I don’t know how to do that I need to ask. I have my friend Patrick helping me but it just ain’t that easy as uploading a new theme and hitting publish. Ah, I wish. Nice working on a holiday, the amount of emails is slower than normal and I feel like I got lots done. The airshow jets have been flying by all afternoon. I used to be quite excited by them but I just don’t feel the same anymore. I care more about getting shit done than rushing to the window to get a photo. Got a post card today from Rochelle while she was in Laguna Beach. It is vintage and handwritten. I love that she though of me, especially that she hand picked a vintage number. THANK YOU. I love getting mail. Wanna send me something? I’ll give you my mailing address if you ask. I wish I had someone to build this wordpress for me.

Have a full calendar of events & meetings this week. Snagged a young stud to be arm candy for a couple things too. Tomorrow I’ve got a hair appointment with Darrek Kwik follwed by a dress fitting at Paris Li for New Zealand Fashion Week outfits. Opening of Toronto International Film Fest is Wednesday and I’ll be attending a couple things that day. This week is gonna fly by. I got an invite to the Tastemakers Lounge on Friday afternoon and confirmed I’ll be getting some swag. YEAH! It’s a celeb gifting/product placement lounge for the Film Fest, Anita gives you a good idea in her post from 2008. Got a couple movies to attend over the next ten days and a fancy tea party on Sunday afternoon.I leave for New Zealand in 14 days and I’ve got each day planned until then.

I’m excited and trying not to feel stressed. Fall clothes are back. My fav outfit season of the year. Happy face. This is gonne be one crazy month, wake me up when September ends, life is such a dream!

blog, blog, fashion baby, NZFW here I come!

Getting pretty dang excited for NZFW coming up Sept. 20-25th. I’m really stoked to see the style and meet sponsors, designers. Who knows who I will meet! I thought it would be a great idea to look at some of the stuff online to see what I’m in store for. Image below will take you to the gallery on the NZFW site.

Last year PAMELA ANDERSON was there. I’ve alweays had a thing for her. Imagine I go all the way back to NZ and meet a Canadian celeb? Crazier things have happened.

Check out these hot models from the pre-shoot. Skip to 3:00 and check out the model competition winner with the moustache. I am already secretly in love (or not so secretly).

Omgaga. I am tres EXCITED!!! So running behind right now because I browsing NZFW stuff. I need to get’ a moooooovin’. I’m off the #lexuslive event hosted by Notable TV at the Distillery for The Stills concert. haha Stills/DiSTILLery.

Have an awesome night!

I’m going international.

First stop – Auckland, New Zealand for the 10th Anniversary of NZ Fashion Week! I am happy to be attending as a media VIP.  I’ll be covering the week’s event, meeting designers and talking with sponsors. Stoked.

Since I’ve been to NZ and AM a Kiwi I’ve grown up with New Zealnd influenced style this is REALLY exciting to me. They are always ahead of North American style over there. In 2004 I came back from down under wearing cowboy boots, skinny jeans with a mullet and a fedora. Two years later, skinny jeans on everyone. I can not WAIT to see how they Fashion Week in New Zealand. Style parade!!

I leave for NZ  Sept. 18th for about 10 days. Will hopefully get to see some of my Kiwi cuzzies. I’ll be posting more about my adventure as it gets closer.

Right now I’m near Napanee and there about 100 Bud Girls getting ready for Bud Camp right now. Have a great weekend!!

TGIF! :)

HELP, I’M ALIVE.

Last night was epic. EPIC. Such an awesome time with the girls. I love Emily Haines so hard, we all do. It was me, Jenie, Michelle, Grace and Jess (we are all on the twitter).

Hanging out with my sister is the most fun. We are so positive, happy & energetic together, I get super charged. Look out.

Ain’t nothin’ gonna break my stride, nobody’s gonna slow me down, oh-no, I got to keep on moving.

I have so many great photos from the night. Heaps. The sun setting over the water and the pink sky were the perfect back drop to the music and atmosphere.

The place was packed but we hardly noticed anyone else because we were laughing and having so much fun. One dude tried to make friends with us, but we were not having it, he was Snooki’s type. We also saw a couple guidos who really loved Emily and knew the lyrics to every song.

All our seats were scattered in different sections but we didn’t go to them once. Instead, we parked our camp on the lawn and danced and sang and threw our arms in the air and screamed. The lawn is really the best place to be. You can relax and lean back or dance in circles.

I love that feeling, the one when you hear the music live and the lights shine on the crowd and they reach out and touch your face and you scream. It melts my popsicle.

Michelle = babe. She has a fashion blog and she’s got the wicked style. My phone desktop image matches her leopard onesie, that’s why she is posing with phone.

Jenie is too cute. Heart melt sandwich.

Ater we went to the afterparty @  Parts + Labour for a private Holy Fuck show. It was hipster heaven, like everyone died & went to American Apparel.

Today I’m sailing to the island with Michael. It’s just to beautiful to not make to most of the day. Y’know? You shoud do something awesome today too. Then tell me about it. We can share awesomes.

LOVE YOU.

One more thing, made a new friend last night, you might know him as the guy who hates Aussies on Flight of the Conchords or host of the 2010 MTV Movie Award, Aziz Ansari. He has tumblr & twitter too.

Christine from Seven Dollar Pants & Michelle, serious fashion blogging happening behind the scenes here. Aziz is shocked at the sheer beauty!

casie stewart is a celebrity? that’s what i heard.

Remember yesterday when I mentioned Virgin wanted to send me to LA? They wanna send a couple other bloggers too. My girl Bre Bre got on Mashable for her screen shot so I thought I’d share mine too. No big deal.

i have been in love with her for 365 outfits

Ever since I first saw her last year, I was in love. This little Sheena from NY has great style and likes to do nice things like raise money for kids to go to school. She wore the same dress (7 dresses/same style) for 355 days and has 10 days to go.

I’ve been secretly, or not so secretly in love with her the whole time. Check ‘er out.

Uniform Project Picture Book from The Uniform Project on Vimeo.

Remember May 1st 2009? And the days since? Sheena’s yearlong journey is now coming to a close. Through the high times and low, holidays, birthdays, and trips abroad, there’s been one constant… or actually two. This is the story of a girl and her little black dress.

feelin’ just peachy baby

Last night was the final judging for Peach Berserk‘s dress design contest and boy was it fun! Wine and cheezies on the counter with dozens of designs drawn by students across North America.

These pix look really clear on my camera but for some reason when I upload them using WP Mobile they look kinda fuzzy. Please disregard!

These are the other two judges from HOAX Couture. We all agreed on the winner and pretty much picked the same top 5 without even knowing.

I loved going through them and seeing all the patterns and designs these kids came up with. If yo0u’ve never been to the shop you should pop by, it’s a burst of colour and art. Check out these tools hammers + blowdryers. Cute.

This is where the magic happens.

Kingi designed this little dress back in 1994.  Love it.

My taxi cab smells like a skunk, or really stank weed t I think is skunk. Dear god, do not let me step out of this cab smelling like it, I’m on my way to LG Fashion Week . Yesterday I was more into it, now it feels like work. I AM actually working, that’s probably why. But, honestly… I wanna stay there all day and be tired of sooooo many fashion shows. I always wanted that.
I’m wearing hot pink tights and jazz shoes aka saddle shoes.
We’re here. Oh god, here we go again.

FORA me. FORA you. FORA us.

in a new york state of mind

Happy Friday! This baby was leaked this morning! HELLLS YEAH> Aiden is back.

I love John Corbett. He’s like, my dream man, the sexiest. If you’re him, or kinda like him, let me know. I’m right here waiting for you. Was just staring at his photo for a min and I’ve totally dated a few of J.Corbett doppelgängers,  prime example right here.

Mass Exodus last night was fun. Always a great time hanging out with the girls. We got called Fairies cause we looked so cute, all bleach blonde/pink/grey hair, stylish & short. Why did we not take a photo of us? Ah well.

We had great seats and  Fritz Helder was my fav part. There was some really interesting designs, I have a bunch of notes to go over this weekend but for now here’s a few of my fav designs. All the pix are by the lovely Lynsie Roberts.

And do I help them? Yes, indeed!

Hello world! Happy Hump Day…wait…it’s Thursday. Days turn into weeks and before you know it we’re like 10 days into a new month. Just a quick note today. Heading to Ryerson University’s annual fashion show tonight mass, Exodus in Bloom. My boss asked if  I could coordinate some bloggers to attend as media and obvs that was NO problemo! Work + life are getting closer as time goes by. It’s cool, I love social media bringing bloggers together. Bloggers Carly, Keri, Lynsie, Jonny and actress Kristin Fairlie are my dates,  holy babe alert!  I’m a stud… er, Jonny is since he’s the only boy.

Wore my late night disco skirt to work today. Just love being able to wear whatever I want. Makes me feel freeeeeeeee!

Just had a great meeting about FORA Summer. Really looking forward to having MORE great contributors from across Canada. in this issue.  If you wanna contribute email me fora@mtv.ca and share a little something about yourself.

I love this lady. Gonna be her for Halloween this year I think. Just imagine me 8 arms/legal singing, “Poor unfortunate souls, in pain, in neeed” Really loud all night. haha, ok won’t do that but I reckon I could do it well. Oh, Ursula you fat sea witch/sorceress you.

like graffiti on the walls of the heartland

It’s alive! FORA launched last night and so far the buzz is pretty positive. It’s a fashion magazine about beauty, trends and has contributions from featured bloggers and a couple friends. I’d love you to check it out and let me know what you think. All the images link to the site so click-click away!

This is the cover, it’s animated and features Dan & Jessi from The After Show on MTV Canada.

There is video content throughout the magazine. Click on the image to see the this video of behind the scenes at the shoot for the cover.

I’ve mentioned Shop My Clothes a a couple different posts here and here. Jonny and I have been friends for a couple years & he’s our contributor giving  you Spring style tips for dudes. He’s a super stylish ;)

Breanna wrote about dating and the social media dating game. I’m sure you’ve checked out her blog, Unbrelievable, a couple times already. She’s got so many great dating stories on there!

Remember when we all wore those great dresses to the FORA Launch party? They were from Peach Berserk! I interviewed Kingi, the founder/designer about her shop. Click the image to read it!

The last page is a little sneak peek of what’s coming up in the next content update; there’s new pix, vids and articles. Woot. If you wanna contribute to future issues email me at fora@mtv.ca.

I’ve been having some serious anxiety the last couple days, I’m not sure when it comes from but it’s lingering and annoying. Stayed home in my room night last night. Wrote a blogpost, will publish later on.

Put on my red Moovboots today and jumped in a few puddles on my way in just to kick up my spirits. No matter what, don’t let the rainy day get you down!

I’m into the new Green Day vid, blonde girls dancing and good lyrics.

That’s all for now.  Have a great day! Love you xo

Like a hurricane in the heart of the devastation
She’s a natural disaster, she’s the last of the American girls

some media friends at #lgfw

Shots from my comp in the media tent (which is not actually a tent at all).

Liana Saadi. She’s a total babe and a fitness model who shoots for Elle Canada Magazine.. We’re also from the same hometown.

This is Fouj, she’s the greatness behind the Social Media for LGFW and the blog of it all (aka the good stuff). She’s a hot babe with great style AND she’s super smart/good at social media. I always find the babes. If you’re at Fashion Week, find her and she’ll snap your outfit photo!

Barbie is up later and I scored an extra pass so I can bring Sabrina. She’s my roommate but also my very own Barbie. I play with her hair, do her makeup and sometimes make outfits for her. She’s a jem. LOVE YOU Beans!

I made her post for these photos at home. Gawd, she’s cute.

over forty years of family fashion

My shirt, it was Mums. She just told me that she got it when she was 15 in New Zealand it it cost her $15. She used to make $2 and hour back then but she just HAD to have it.

She charged it to her Mum’s account (Nana) and had to pay it off over time. I LOVE when Mum tells me stories of her clothes. When she moved to Canada she kept her clothes, Jenie & I wear most of them now. She had/has great style, my Mum. Probably one of the reason I have so many clothes, mine all tell a story too. I love them, hell, I’ve been sleeping with them for the past week (half my bed is a pile of clothes right now!).

Heading back to fashion Week this afternoon for my last day.  I’ve been waiting for Barbie by David Dixon and TONIGHT is the night. Not sure about partying after…really proud of myself that I’ve not woken up hung over or attended any crazy late night fashion partied.  It makes a difference when you actually have to work, ah, I remember so many years of just attending parties. I posted a couple things on my OH CASIE blog and there’s a heap of Twitpics too.

It’s beautiful outside today, enjoy it. I’ve got heaps of footage from the F/W 2010 collections I saw this week, will try to get it all up this weekend.

Happy Thursday/Friday!

smell you later hot stuff

Last year, about this time, I wrote about Givenchy Play, it was brand new and no one had it yet. Last night at the Buckler show/party for LGFW I got a mini size  in my giftbag and I really hope more dudes start wearing it.  Buckler link goes to the FB page, their site plays music when you click on it and I hate linking to sites like that. Great style for men though,  I recommend checking it out.

It’s made for a man but it smells oh so good, I’ve had it in my own rotation. I rewarded Ryan, one of our interns at work with a Play giftset recently. He’s starting out in the music industry and I’m happy to help smell extra good. Keep up the good work & enjoy it RYAN!! You can get yours at The Bay if you wanna smell really good too. Ok, busy day today, heading to Allstrem Centre to catch a  bunch of shows LGFW today. Ah! Exciting. Tattoo pix coming right up next!

i did it all for excitement and fun

I was sitting waaay up high with the press peeps and not paying attention to the game. First goal happened, not for the Leafs. I was not surprised.  It also doesn’t matter to me, I pick the Leafs as my team cause Toronto’s my city and I hardly ever watch hockey outside the Olympics anyways.  I l0ve the Kiss Cam (when camera goes on you, kiss person beside you) and Luke’s Troops (camera goes on Troops & tells story) the most. I also love the hockey hair and guys/girls in jerseys, Canadian celebs and people in suits.  Saw Walter Gretzky, Eugene Levy and a couple Mountie’s too. It’s a sight to be scene,  it’s awesome. Sports games are a social experience for me, out of my comfort zone, but yet I’m so easily comfortable.  People watching never goes outta style.

I could hear the announcers voice behind me as I sat there listening to his voice on the loud speaker. It was amusing, I liked it.

Changed this post (originally posted Tuesday night at about 8pm) to present tense when I got home. I’ve got a busy Wednesday ahead of me. Another event tonight. Excited for Twestival tomorrow & the 3d TV Samsung launch. Next week is Fashion Week. OMG. Seriously, March MADNESS. I need to sleep all weekend if I’m going to make it.

Tweeted some non-hockey banter and  Twitpix last night.

Elsa can’t work next week.

I need to fill her Intern position.

the most beautiful girl in the room

Yesterday’s magazine party  at MTV was great. Both my bosses were happy (phew!) and I got positive comments from so many people. via Twitter  & email.  Helps to get positive feedback cause, lemme tell you, I was so nervous and excited about the whole thing. It was really wonderful to see all these awesome people/bloggers in a room together. The dresses from Peach Berserk were a hit. I’ll get to posting more about it tonight but at the moment very busy!

In the mean time you can check out these great post about it!

wwkcd: what would kelly cutrone do

I watch more then I listen, but I dig the Gossip Girl style. Always dressed up, classy. I started K.C’s book today. Gonna read a little more before bed. I’m about twenty pages and into it. Her attitude is totally refreshing. She doesn’t put up with whiny, negative, bitchy, complainers, and she knows what she’s doing because she worked at it. I find her to be quite admirable and I’m looking forward to seeing her IRL.

I love this:

“Because, if you’re the kind of person who senses there’s something out there beyond whatever it is you’re expected to do- if you want to be extra-ordinary- you will not get there by hanging around a bunch of people who tell you you’re not extraordinary. … We have a saying in New York: when you’re the most happening person at the party, it’s time to leave.”

- Kelly Cutrone, If You have to Cry, Go Outside

She grew up in a small town and always wanted the city. It’s inspiring to learn about people that do the kinda things you like doing. I’m glad I got her book today, I was due for a new one since that bee sting book before last Fall. I like reading. I read more books in the summer, winter is online time. I like to bike somewhere  with my book and lay under a tree,  on a park bench in the sun.

Did you know Kelly Cutrone used to read tarot cards  AND married Andy Warhol’s protégé, Ronnie Cutrone at 21? She has worked with the best fashion designers and heaps of interesting creative peeps. ELLE wrote about her here and asked a bunch of questions. This is my favorite Q/A:

On witchcraft: “A lot of people think I’m a Wiccan. I’m not; it takes too long. I’d rather take something and make it happen than get 75 herbs and stir them in a pot by the full moon.”

My Monday dress is hanging up read to go. This FORA stuff has really got me embracing my love of fashion full force just in time for Spring (& LGFW).
I’m nervous and excited.

My favorite feeling.
