I got a bouquet of tights from the spring line for Secret Legwear yesterday. THANK YOU!  I’ve been wearing tights Secret sent me all winter and to be honest, they have lasted, washed & worn really well. Casie stamp of awesomism!

Considering I hardly EVER wear pants, getting these is HUGE for me. Shared a pair with my darling roomie @itsbrownbarbie. Things are better when shared, happiness for you, for you, for you, for EVERYONE!

Was given a very special painting yesterday wrapped in this very special paper. I’m the luckiest girl in the world! Weeeeeee.

Since I demolished clothes mountain and turned my once closet back into a bedroom, I’m finding all kinds of  gems that were hiding. Did you know I was nominated for a YTV Achievement Award in 1996?

It was the first award show I ever went to. I saw Robyn, met Nick Lachey (w/ 98 degrees) and didn’t end up winning. It was an honour to be nominated Pretty much nothing online about them now, it was before internet was really mainstream.

The reason was nominated was for that book I wrote. I found these articles in the same portfolio. My first time in the Toronto Star:

Is social media more art or science? I debated ART.

To me, social media IS an art. Sure you can get ‘formula’ for peak times to tweet or try to follow a ‘method’ but that doesn’t mean shit if you’re not creative. If you’re not artistic with your message (whatever or wherever it you’re selling it), people ain’t gonna buy it. You will be more successful in this new industry if you take risks and be artistic. Everything I have done/do to build my brand is driven by creativity.

Sometimes I feel like I need a break, from you, Internet. It’s not you it’s me. I get overwhelmed by just how intense our replationship is. We’re always together. We know what each other are up to, where I am, who I’m with, where I’m going and everything I’ve got planned. You know all my thoughts left in drafts and all the things I didn’t say.

The next week is full of work so it’s not the time to make any changes in our relationship just yet. The week after that I’m going to San Juan for a week and I want to take a break. I hope you won’t be upset with me. I’m gonna take that week to reflect on all the things we’ve done this year. There is so many. I was just thinking about how each day of our lives together has been documented and I want to cherish that. Do you ever go back and look?

After our ‘break’ we’ll have missed eachother so much that we can get started fresh again and take on the new year. Love, I’m taking you to LA for a week over New Years and we’ll be spending lots of time together there. I can’t wait to show you where we are staying. You will love it. Jenie is coming too and we’re all gonna have a blast.

Oh man. Was in bed all day today. I need to rest. I am almost Tiff’d out. Premiere tonight thanks the lovely Cadillac Insider. Going to see CLIENT 9 The rise and fall of Eliot Spitzer. Have to go get my tickets but I don’t want to go outside yet. It sounds windy. Not as sunny today.

Yesterday was an awesome day, an awesomely looooong day. Yorkville all day Tastmakers Gifting Lounge for  nails done, makeup and more. Thanks for the presents guys! That neighbourhood is growing on me, could also be that it is Film Fest so buzzing. Joe Fresh makeup is really nice. My lipstick didn’t leave marks when kissing cheeks of all the zillion people I saw throughout the day.

Diesel Lounge for lunch on the patio and a mini photo shoot with hot NY photog Raphael Mazzucco. He is apparently a pretty big deal, shooting covers of Time, Sports Illustrated and Victoria’s Secret. Can’t wait to get those photos. He was also very good looking;  tall, long hair, charming.

Went to Vitamin Water Backyard Social. Was fun. Did this interview with O’Nizz and had my phototaken heaps. I could really get used to this kinda stuff. Met a few peeps that made a point to come say hi and were really happy to meet me for the first time. HI GUYS!

Vitamin Water party had a great bar, top shelf selection. Food was good too. Everyone was on Twitter which was fun. Hardly took any pics of my own. This is Blondetourage member, singer/actress and also ex-MTV babe Anna Cyzon. We in love, she has a great look eh. Blonde Jovi. haha

Went to private secret location roof thing on King Street after with some friends then home to change for the CBC party at the Hazelton. I took Morgan Ross as my date from the band Birds of Wales. We had fun, he is a babe. Photo booth at Strombo’s party was great. More parties should have those. I have about 10 strips of photos.

So many cool peeps at the Hazelton party, real celebs. I can’t even remember everyone’s names but Juliette Lewis was there. She is great. Apparently I am kinda known around CBC, some lovely exec’s were like “we know who know exactly who you are”. Hiiiiiiiiii! Please put me on a show, I’d be great at that.

I am feeling less like punching myself in the face now and more like getting back onthe TIFF train. Hitting up Nikki Beach with my sister after the premiere tonight. Going to something super exclusive tomorrow, Vitamin Water House party Steve Nash movie thingy. I was asked to attend yesterday. Heard the guest list is A-Listers and there will be paps out front. Have a tea party Sunday afternoon for an Aussie comedy movie called JUCY. I keep saying to myself “this is my life, this is my life”. I only ever dreamed I would be doing all this cool stuff.

One week from today I will be getting on a plane to New Zealand for Fashion Week. Did I tell you I am flying premium on the upper deck?  Oh yeah, gonna be my best flight to New Zealand ever. I need to sleep on that place cause once I get there, work starts. Please pray the earthquakes stop. There was another one today.

Must go get movie tickets and get ready to do it all again. I need to fit a disco nap in before I head out this evening. I have no idea what time I got home last night but I reckon it was late. 4am last call and open bar means time really flies. They say that’s what happens when you’re having fun, eh?

So yesterday I had a really intersting experience going through customs before leaving YYZ.

I was very smily and dressed kinda cute as I approaced the dreaded security check at the airport. It always scares me for some reason, hence, I was extremely pleasant as I emptied all my gear intot the tray, laptop, shoes, small bottled liquids. I was pretty excited to step into the body scanner, it was my first time flying since this had been implemented a few months ago after the underwear bomber.

No problems with the body scan but as I turned around it seemed a couple security guards were puzzled by something in my suitcase. Shit. First thought, they saw my ‘Hitachi massager‘ and they’re gonna give me a hard time, second thought, my corsets with metal boning have themn confused.

Neither was the case and as one security guard after another, followed by several police officers went for a look, I began to get scared. WTF are they looking at? I tried to be positive about the whole thing and deffinitley not get emotional. Crying would only make this worse, “keep smiling & don’t look scared” I told myself.

A secutiry guard and police officer begun filling out paper work and the questions started coming. Where do I live, what do I do, where was I going & why.

They could tell I was getting worried and told me to stay calm, so I tried as my hands were getting real sweaty and I can only imagine how red my face was getting.

One of the nice airport security officers then mouthed silently “do you have a lighter?” which was followed by “do you have a gun miss?”. WTF, now I was freaking the fuck out.  “Did you pack your bag miss the police man asked me? Yes, and I didn’t leave it unattended either. “Do you have anyting that resembles a gun?” I don’t think so.  Shit, shit, shit.

You’re going to have to come with us miss. Fuck. I walked, sans shoes or any belongings over to the side area surrounded buy at leats two police and several security guards and airport staff. They surrounded me.

As they began to go through my bag they asked if  I had any jewelery, this was when I opened the front zip of my suitcase revealing the object they were looking for … a small metal gun on a necklace.

I was mortified and scared.

They told me that when luggage goes through the x-ray scanner it is magnified which resulted in my tiny metal .038 special snub nose looking like a regular size pistol.

They confiscated it. I loved that gun necklace.  I brought it back from NYC on a Porter flight just months ago. YYZ is deff more strict than Porter.

They officers began asking me more questions, height, weight, eye colour, all things they didn’t really need to know. They then asked why I was REALLY going to Florida, so I told them Fetish Factory 15th Annual Memorial Day weekend party. Bless your heart they said, followed by “pictures”.

At this point they are very aware that I do social media for MuchMTV and write a blog and we’re onto making jokes about being Facebook friends and status updates about our little debackle. I would love to know if they look me up. haha

Safe to say I made it through and now I’m in Florida and it’s beautiful out.

Look who’s a Degrassi student today! I was running into a meeting earlier today and my boss asked if my shirt was new and if I was going to the big meeting this afternoon. “No” I said, “oh, it’s a DEGRASSI meeting” he replied.  I look like SUCH a keener and I love it. Abby gave it to me last night as a thank you for inviting her to my Hills party.  She works with the show which is awesome cause it’s gonna be airing on MuchMusic. BTW if you ever wanna come watch The Hills with me at MTV, just ask! I’ll be hanging out there on Tuesday nights.

My sis is with my cousin right now and we’re going to the Jays game tonight. I’m excited. They’re playing Boston and I’m gonna wear my Red Sox hat just for fun.

Last night was the final judging for Peach Berserk‘s dress design contest and boy was it fun! Wine and cheezies on the counter with dozens of designs drawn by students across North America.

These pix look really clear on my camera but for some reason when I upload them using WP Mobile they look kinda fuzzy. Please disregard!

These are the other two judges from HOAX Couture. We all agreed on the winner and pretty much picked the same top 5 without even knowing.

I loved going through them and seeing all the patterns and designs these kids came up with. If yo0u’ve never been to the shop you should pop by, it’s a burst of colour and art. Check out these tools hammers + blowdryers. Cute.
