Photographer Hugh Crawford took a photo a day for 18 years. I started with his photos from 1982 (my year) and it’s neat how people and things look so much like life on Instagram.  One of the things I love about being on the Internet is the massive collection of photos from the last ten years. 1892 Looks Just Like Today, Maybe Yesterday…

Jamie Livingston (October 25, 1956 – October 25, 1997) was a New York-based photographer, film-maker and circus performer. Between March 31, 1979 and October 25, 1997, the day of his death, he took a single picture nearly every day with a Polaroid SX-70 camera.^[1][2]

Livingston’s ‘Polaroid a Day’ photographic diary started at Bard College and though some photos have gone missing from the collection, 6,697 Polaroids remain. The collection, dated in sequence, has been organized by his friends Hugh Crawford and Betsy Reid into an exhibit at the Bertelsmann Campus Center at Bard College called “Photo of the Day”, which opened in 2007.^[3] By the next year, the pictures were hosted online and became a popular discovery of several online blogs.^[4]

We had fun today. Darren Kwik cut a few hairs on camera while we chatted Pinterest at his interest. Next up was Bicyclette. I love that store so much (which is why I suggested we go there). Remember last year I did a full tour? It’s sequins, lace, chains and all kinds of pink, flowy, flowery things I want to wear. I can only imagine how great it feels to be Paige, the darling owner, she works in my/a dream closet.

I bought a rainbow at the art supply store on my way home and and chalked Kate’s hair over drinks. Pinterest hair. I’m going to turquoise mine next week. Her life is a chick flick and I love it.

I have been spending a fair amount of creative energy in Draw Something lately. I posted my fav drawings by my opponents on Borderline Artistic, my drawing blog. You should check it out…

Watched this talk last night by Mike Monteiro about being a person who works in the business of being creative. He talks about relationship building and uses good language. The start is amusing and I learned a few things. I drew on iPad while he was talking.

He brings in his lawyer, who is quite insightful. Especially when it comes to how to take care of client service contracts as a small business. Sounds boring but it’s not. I watched the whole thing.

If the person you are working with has their lawyer on the call, you should have yours.

I like when he says ” I would like designers to stop being bottoms, realize the power you have in the relationship”. (You’ll enjoy that part I’m sure.) I love listening to entrepreneurs talk. Her drawings make me smile. One of my goals for 2012 is to do more drawing.

It is so lovely & sunny in our house right now, doors open, watching traffic and planes feels like anything is possible.

It started out rainy & foggy then got really pretty today.

Can’t decide what to wear to the ballet tonight.

It’s Elton John music & tribute so I feel sequins are to be expected.

I think it’s pretty most the time. Today was ok for walking, not too heavy, not soaking. Leather, headscarf, heels, a little wet but not much.
