This is my new Canon Rebel SL1. It’s the worlds smallest and lightest DSLR. I’m super excited to have received it last night from Canon as part of their first ever ambassador program. They’ve chosen five top bloggers in Canada to learn to use different Canon cameras in different ways. From now till December, I’ll be stepping up my photo game and learning how to really use this thing. I’m amazed at some of the features and stoked to take my skills to the next level. I’ve never had a DSLR before! My first ever digital camera was a Canon Powershot and I replaced it several times after losing and breaking it beyond repair. Looking forward to taking you on this journey with me.
Thank you Canon for picking me, I’ll make you proud!
DailyBooth was the original photoblogging site for people to take a photo each day with a caption. The goal was “your life in photos” in order to document and share. It allowed you to post on Twitter and follow other users within the service for real-time updates.
In August, 2009, the site had over 3 million unique visitors a month with a growth rate of about 35% a month.[2] On 11 November 2012, it was announced that Dailybooth was closing down, with users able to access and download their content until 31 December. The site was completely deleted after that.
Demi, Ashton, and iJustine used to use it heaps.
I download all my nearly 800 photos from my database and put them in a video as a memory. That’s why I started blogging in the first place, to keep more memories. I learned how beat map photos in iMovie when I made this. I’m no expert video editor but I’d like to get better at it. I’m hoping to get a new camera soon so I can start filming some epic si*t. Huzzah!
I’m the couch at the cottage watching movies and computing all day. It’s great! Happy Sunday
This comes out tomorrow, but by secret connections of the internet, I’m sharing with you today! My friends at Biz Media really love great burgers and wanted to capture the essence of what really made fast food great in the olden days. They matched that pure burger love with vintage video production to make this great throwback.
The brand new Burgers Priest on Queen West opens Saturday at 6pm. Here’s to vintage awesomeness, burgers, and good friends!
Took subway home from work today after stopping by the Nella Bella head office. I’ve been friends with the designers for years and truly love them!
I do not however, love loud talkers on the subway. Don’t people realize they are being loud/rude/annoying? We all don’t need to know the floodplan of your new apartment or that your sister still has that loser boyfriend. Couple years ago I made videos of loud talking people and posted them online. I feel that might be a bit inappropriate now, but I still think about it.
This is my new fav bag. A big black purse is a staple for every city girl or woman who loves to travel. My Nella Bella bags have been around the world with me on all kinds of adventures!
Thank you SO much Tarek and the Nella Bella team for having me in today. Congrats on the new line! Check out all their designs at nella-bella.com.
In other news, I like the West end and I don’t miss CityPlace. Sitting on the top of the bridge as I write this and feeling pretty good.
Earlier this months I was chosen by Lancome Canada as one of 20 artists in Canada to be part of their big digital show for Luminato Festival. I was super stoked to be chosen for this experience! The theme was ‘the rose’ so I had my BF shoot me with a dozen roses up at the cottage in the sunshine. Unfortunately, I submitted my photos LATE and they would not accept them for the show.
See below for a bunch of photos. They are kinda big so I didn’t leave them all on the homepage!
Last week I hosted Ted’s 25th celebration at the beautiful store in Yorkdale Mall. In true Ted Baker London style, it was a hoot! I played around in the clothes trying on everything I could get my little hands on, helping customers, drinking lemonade, and dancing to wicked beats. The entire store was 25% off to celebrate 25 years of the iconic brand. As a Ted baker London Ambassador, I was lucky to pick a few items out for myself! It was hard to choose, trust me! See below for event photos, fav items, and how YOU could win the trip of a lifetime.

Have you seen this yet? Clicked the fancy ad in my sidebar for the new HTC One? If you did, you’ll notice it’s for a big contest with HTC to win a phone and social + blog mentorship from none other than yours truly! This is my second partnership with HTC in the last couple years.
I was given the phone a few weeks ago and almost all the photos I’ve published here since have been shot with the HTC One. The selfie cam on this lil’ thing is the best I’ve seen and the reviews of it are great! I posted a bunch of photos over the weekend and a collection in this post here. The phone itself is made of aluminium and the home screen is a feed of all my social activity and news.
HTC is looking to help someone take their blog to the next level by offering them mentorship from a famous successful blogger. You’ll win the HTC One, mentorship, and you’l be published right here on THIS IS MY LIFE.
To enter, click the ad in my sidebar and follow to the box that says “ARE YOU THE NEXT INFLUENCER?” For hard core tech info about the HTC One, visit htc.com. It’s now available in Canada
On Thursday, May 16th, Ted Baker London celebrates 25 years of beautiful style, design, and adventure. You’re invited to join the national celebration hosted by ME at the Yorkdale’s Ted Baker London store. Designer, aesthete, traveler, connoisseur and debonair man-about-town; there’s not much Ted Baker doesn’t know about this business we call fashion.
The Toronto flagship store has only been open for a few months and I was happy to be one of the hosts that night. Remember that beautiful blue dress? Ahhhh, yes, how could one forget. I’ve also got a GIVEAWAY for one of Ted’s 25 Year’s limited edition taxi print scarf. See below for details!
As a Canadian Ambassador for Ted Baker, I feel it’s my duty to let you know some of the great items in store for Spring 2013. I absolutely love this brand. I feel like all the clothes were made with me in mind. They’re extremely well made with acute attention to detail.

Ted’s also been busy designing a range of limited edition pieces featuring the exclusive London cabbie print. Ted totally knows how to celebrate. The scarf you can win is this limited edition print. It’s lovely!

In true Ted Baker style, I’ve packed my Ted Baker London jacket, scarf, & purse and I’m jet setting to Vancouver for my first time today. I’ll be back just in time for the shopping celebration. Make sure you RSVP and I hope to see you there!
It’s been one week with the new HTC One and I can say two things, I’ve never been stopped so much for someone to look at a device and I don’t really miss my iPhone. I’ve literally been stopped (by dudes mostly) in the elevator, at Target, at bars, and at dinner, just to show it off and have them touch it. It’s a good feeling.
I took all these photos with my new HTC One over the last couple days. I’ve really been enjoying the weather

I’ve taken over 400 photos, lots of selfies, and posted a few videos in the last week. The front facing cam on this baby is out of this world, you’ve never had selfies so fresh. There’s a couple photo skills I’m working on but overall, this is the best phone camera I‘ve ever had. Last week I went to a training session and it was super cool to learn about the technology behind this little guy. The pixels are bigger than other phone cameras which makes the images clearer. All the apps and features on the phone come with sharing options, so, for someone like me who is a Tweets, blogs, and creates heaps of content, it’s perfect.
HTC is launching a MASSIVE contest and I’m part of the prize. That’s all I can say for now. Keep your eyes here for details. I’m looking forward to telling you about it!
