In celebration of converse.ca (Welcome to 🇨🇦 !) they sent an awesome package. The box is an old computer with a lenticular screen, and it’s full of disks. A couple disks have codes for FREE SHOES and I’m sharing then w you. YAY! I gave a pair to Matt @ 1188 to test shipping. Ordered Friday shipped Monday, on his feet Tuesday in TO from Montreal.

Every summer I get a new pair of white Converse because after wearing them all summer with no socks, trust me, they’re worn out done.  I’d like a pair of white leather hightops but I also love the little white Dainty. Really feeling the Nike X Flyknit but they only come in mens sizes and my feet are too small. 😩

The new Converse II  soles are more comfortable. They’re a great summer staple, love them with dresses or jeans, shorts, and rompers. They’re my fav. I have a framed photo of my Andy Warhol converse in my room and another couple pairs tucked away in under bed storage for safe keeping; an Andy Warhol pair and classic Chuck Taylor high tops with my signature on the tongue.

HOW TO WIN? LEAVE A COMMENT! 👇🏽

Scroll over to converse.ca, find your fav shoes, and say hi in the comments w/ a link to your fav pair.
I’ll pick two people and shoes will be delivered to you anywhere in Canada.
Extra points for good manners, jokes, or kind words. GOOD LUCK! 😊

💡It's kind of fun writing little disclaimers at the bottom of posts. Have you noticed? As I said, Converse sent me a cool present and I decided to share with you on my blog like I have done since 2009. This is what I love about blogging telling a story about something I love and my little ol' life and sharing with you. Thank you Micki and Converse team, also again this package is awesome.

Wednesday this week I took Sean to a track with Ford Canada to giver in the Ford RS and Mustang GT. I’ve driven on tracks with Ford a few times so know just how fun it is. It really helped me learn to handle a vehicle and be a more confident driver.

Ford invited me to bring a dad in my life in celebrations of Fathers Day. Sean works really hard and I knew this would make him feel great! I only went one lap and let him take a few extra just to see the smile on his face.

Look at that genuine happiness!!

WATCH THIS

Our options to drive were Ford Mustang GT Convertible, Ford Mustang GT Fastback, and the Focus RS. The Focus RS is REALLY FAST. You’ll see Sean say it’s amazing in the video. 😜

I took lots of selfies in the Mustang Convertable, love this car AND the weather!

One of my fav things of the day was doing a ‘hot lap’ with professional drivers Darryl Timers (Ford of Canada’s Performance Driver since 2013). Our vehicles were fully stocked with GoPro’s to catch our reactions. I also woer my Snapchat specs while driving so hit play below to see a first person view of me on the track.

THANK YOU Ford and the team from National PR for a memorable experience with a fav dad in my life. We’ll continue to talk about this day for a loooooong time!

Don’t forget to say hi & love you to the dads/uncles/granddads/brothers and dad friends in your life this weekend!

Ford invited me on this trip but it wasn't a paid partnership.

LIFE TIP: If you're EVER given the opportunity to drive really fast on a track YOU TAKE IT.

Thanks Ford, Love ya!

This is my happy place!

Sean on the wakeboard!

The weather was perfect this weekend. Spent most of it at our friends cottage. Came up Saturday after a friends wedding. Last night we had the most epic meal of steak, shrimp, potatoes, salads, garlic bread. It was so good. Had some leftovers for breakfast! Feels great to spend time w/ good friends and family. ❤️

Unfortunately on Saturday night I got killed by mosquitoes and deer flies. My legs look like I’ve been on Survivor. I counted 80 bikes last night but I feel like more and more are swelling up. I’m so itchy! 😩

FYI you can soon enjoy La Croix in Canada! It’s coming this month.

We’re staying up an extra day so my Monday will be spend working in between breaks on the water and in the sun.

We went out for a nice rip on these guys today. Very fast! This weather is amazing. Last week was kind of intense so really enjoying every bit of our time here to recharge the batteries.

Remember: you will never be younger than you are today so make the most of it!

Hope you had a great weekend!

For the past few months, I’ve been having my hair done at Sassoon in Yorkville. My hair, although it’s super easy to get ready in the morning, IS VERY high maintenance. I have the colour done about every 4-6 weeks with a trim once, sometimes twice in the middle. I like the experience at Sassoon and each time I’ve had someone different do my hair. Variety is the spice!  In April, I went wild for spring and cut it all off super short!

Before I Cut it all off super short!

Taking Care of Your Hair w/ Treatments

Aside from the cut, I really love how great my blonde looks a couple weeks after I get it done. Blonde can be tricky and if you don’t take care of it properly, it’ll go yellow and brassy. The team at Sassoon has been loading my hair up with treatments to make the colour stay and keep it strong.

Treatments Sassoon has been using in my hair:

Colour: Long Lasting Colour Radiance

Coloured hair needs special care to ensure it retains its vibrancy and shine. The colour treatment conditions and protects hair without build-up, helping to maintain long-lasting color radiance and intensity.

Moisturizing: Dry or Undernourished Hair

Sun exposure and pollution strip your hair of essential natural oils, leaving hair brittle and dehydrated. Hair will be immediately revitalized with the intensive moisturizing treatment, providing exceptional conditioning and restoring hair to its natural brilliant shine.

I’m almost due for a trim before my next root touch-up. I love having short blonde hair but I think I’ll try one of the soft spring pastel colours like pink, violet, or peach. Will be so nice for this time of year!

For my next full appointment, I’d like to grow it out a bit and try this new Sassoon cut from the SS17 collection. It’s a unique look but I think I can pull it off! I love the androgynous style. What a babe!

Stay tuned for a whole new look!

I'm partnered with Sassoon Toronto  + they make sure my hair is looking super fabulous in exchange for my honest and true opinion. You heard it here first guys!  Thank you Sassoon! To book an appointment at Sassoon Toronto call (416-920-1333 or pop by the website here for location info.

new forever artwork casie stewart

For Christmas Sean got me an iPad Pro with Apple Pencil and my first reaction wasn’t what he was expecting. I kept saying ‘It’s so big!” and thought about returning it the first couple days. BUT now, I can’t imagine my life without it!

Last week I signed up for a creative hand lettering course so I could learn how to use Procreate and it is SO COOL.  The course ($45) is by Caroline Kelso Zook who has a website called Made Vibrant for creatives. I’ve subscribed to her for a few months and 💕 her work.

I’ve been staying up late drawing, then dreaming about drawing. I’m only just getting started and on part 2 of 4 in the course. I’m learning new things every day so you’ll start to see colourful creations pop up more and more. Using AirDrop to share seamlessly between iPhone, iPad, Macbook is so incredibly awesome.

YAY technology and internet and art.

I started my drawing blog ‘Borderline Artistic‘ back in 2008 when I got my 1st gen iPad. I loved that little thing. Remember Andy? Now with iPad Pro, I’m creating more than ever and I’m planning to update things around here with more art.

Went to Wake Up at Yoga Yoga this morning and had a coffee/croissant at Hale. Both places give me so much joy!   Tonight is the media opening of Drake Commissary and I’m taking my yoga teacher, Sandy!

Today is going to be sunny to put a smile on your face and flash it around.

Sending you some sunshine through the internet, across the sky, right to your screen.

  • I PAID FOR THE COURSE WITH MY OWN MONEY FOR THE RECORD.

I really wanted to make some of these after seeing they looked pretty easy on Pinterest. AND WELL THEY WERE! Embot and I gave it a go this weekend so she could give one to Grandma for her 70th birthday this week.

I followed this video by by TO’s own Sorry Girls but I have a few tips to add because they made it look more graceful. 🤓

I used the smallest bag of sand concrete you can get at Canadian Tire. You mix it with water 4/1. We used old juice containers (ie. tetra pack bottoms) and put empty water bottles cut in half with a weight inside to hold the form. The bottle wise rise up without a weight. Next time I’ll round up some juice containers before we do it. The concrete can also be messy make sure you put something down on your work space and I high reco doing in the garage our outside.

One of the planters was made from a 2L pop bottle and it looks kinda neat because of the bottoms. The concrete takes 24 hours to dry.  The water bottles inside the form were kinda hard to get out so we’ll switch to paper cups next (they use Tim’s cups in the video). This was a last minute idea I was kinda just wingin’ it with what we had around the cottage.  They still turned out fine!

I’ve been dying to get some copper (rose gold!) Krylon paint. I follow/girl crush on Tiffany Pratt and she’s been using it to paint things a lot lately. I put tape on the design I wanted and put on a couple thin coats of Krylon spray paint. Let it dry. Put a little succulent in it and VOILA you are DONE!

While I was on a  roll this morning I gave my white ‘Damn Daniel‘ Vans a makeover. That meme is so 2016. They look great IRL.  I’ve got a few more things planned for this paint. I love it!!!!!!

I’ve got a few more things planned for this paint. ROSE GOLD EVERYTHING haha.

Krylon Queen Tiffany Pratt!

If you have any questions or tips for me, I’m happy to hear ’em. I’m making this up as I go here just like you!

I mention a few things I love in this post like Vans, Canadian Tire, and Krylon paint, not sponsored but if you know them and they wanna hook a sista up, I WILL MAKE MORE THINGS. 😎✌🏼

This post is sponsored by TD and the TD Common Ground Project.

Earlier this year I joined TD at The Harbourfront Centre on one of the nicest days in February to kick off the TD Common Ground Project. In recognition of Canada’s 150th this year, TD has joined forces with local organizations to help create a legacy by revitalizing over 150 green spaces to bring us all together. 🌿🌻🐛🌎🌸

How It All Started

Last fall, TD invited organizations across Canada to apply for funding from the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation as a part of the #TDCommonGround Project. Now, they’ve picked 150+ local community‑driven initiatives to receive funding and help their goals become a reality.

Projects range from science projects to trail building and heaps more including a new pedestrian walkway to Waterloo Park (Waterloo), improvements to an outdoor public library and rec space in Halifax, a 4.6-hectare green area in Montreal, and an outdoor celebration area & pollinator habitat right here in GTA (Scarborough). Learn more about individual projects by visiting commongroundproject.td.com.  💚

City of Toronto: The TD Pollinator Engagement Centre @ Morningside Park

The Toronto / Scarborough flagship piece focuses on the revitalization of Morningside Park and they’re already planning!

The park is an Environmentally Significant Area (ESA) and the new engagement center will feature an outdoor classroom and community celebration area, as well as a pollinator habitat. GTA residents will be able to go to learn about the park, attend the annual festivals, go to weekend seminars on local plants, and take part in stewardship programs.

Schools who visit the park will learn about Morningside Park and its connection to the Scarborough community as well as pollination and how pollinators relate to the natural systems of the park.

I love this initiative and I’m so happy to be working on another great project with TD.

I’ll keep you posted about the project as it goes on over the next 6 months. If you’d like to learn more visit commongroundproject.td.com  and follow the hashtag #TDCommonGround to see what we’re up to! 🌿🌻🐛
