Hot Pop Factory’s New Laser Cutting Studio

Received a neat gift in the mail, a personalized pack of laser cut coasters from my friends at Hot Pop Factory. You may recognize their name from previous posts about their 3D printing. jewellery, and courses (see posts here). I love their work! How neat are these! The glasses image is from a pair of sunnies I own that say ‘Cross my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in my eye’. Co-founder Biying Miao emailed to say she was sending me a little something to do with their new laser cut studio in Toronto but I didn’t know it would be so awesome! The team has opened the new laser cutting studio and mad ie super fast, professional, and to make your idea reality. Simply visit this link for info and email them with your design for a quote. Got this surprise in the mail the other day from Hot Pop Factory. 3D printing is growing in popularity and availability and I totally love it. There’s this one really neat photobooth where you can 3D print little action figures! Saw some 3D printing at the Wired Pop-Up shop in London, UK last week. I Love You in 3D and underneath the moon.

Shannon and I shot in the snow on Monday at lunch for Coral TV. After work I went to Untitled & Co. on Queen Street for the media preview of Hot Pop Factory‘s 3D kissing booth. I was so cool. I love 3D printing, I’ve told you about 8K times. When they aren’t making 3D statues, people pendants or rings with faces on them for Valentine’s, they make jewellery. I have this white 3D ring below and a matching necklace. And I really want to wear this. Untitled & Co is where I got the Thug Mansion Barbie sweater. They also carry Stolen Girlfriends Club one of my fav designers from New Zealand. Remember when I went to New Zealand Fashion Week? One of the funniest things I’ve done ever. The SGF show was in a theatre and it was a fashion wedding at the end. My dream basically. This is me getting scanned and that on screen is me in 3D. This stuff below goes into the 3D printer to make objects that have been scanned (with Kinect) into files on computer. I really want one of these rings. You can order for around $40. I am getting the photobooth print tomorrow and giving it to my valentine. ♥ Wait till this technology gets better and faster. I can’t wait.

5 Great Views in San Francisco

I originally wrote this post for Canadian Geographic after my press trip to SF last spring. Some good stuff in here and places I had no idea about until I went on a great afternoon tiki tour with a local friend. Scroll down for some fun SF moments and check out this post on Canadian Geographic with 5 great things to do in San Francisco. I love San Francisco. The city is bright with lots of neighbourhoods to explore, each with a distinct look and history. There’s plenty of great spots to take in the city including the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Pier 39, or the Coit Tower. SF is known for frequent fog so all views come with a recommendation for a clear sunny day. ☀️ Here’s a few great views that weren’t in my first SF travel post! Twin Peaks Here you’ll find a great 180 view of San Francisco from the centre of the city at an elevation of 922 ft. The hike takes about 45 minutes but the drive is only 10 min. I love the way the road and city and look from the top of the hill. You’ll notice the Sutro Tower in the middle of the hill (not pictured). I learned that it’s become ironically iconic and was once seen an eyesore but is now kind of, cool? Ha! There’s shirts, souvenirs, and a selection of sellers on Etsy with Sutro Tower merch. It reminds me of something from Aliens or War of the Worlds. Museum of Ice Cream If you can get a ticket, the views here are like something you’d find in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The Museum of Ice Cream is located near Union Square inside a former bank. Aside from learning worldly facts about the famous food, you’ll find incredibly cute backdrops for photos.…

Now, don’t get me wrong because there IS a difference.

I’m currently shopping on Dealuxe.ca to pick out an outfit for my talk on Thursday during Mashable Socal Media Day. Sign up here to come for the fun, there’s 250+ people coming already. Gonna be fun to see everyone. This skirt is cute too eh. Mum loves it. I’m also browsing EGOCLOSET to pick out something to review & while testing out their new online store. Thinking this uber cute Diamond Pocket Dress, Maxi Jumper or this Chifon tail dress. Loving those long flowy skirts & dresses. They were really popular in NZ last year & they are ALWAYS ahead in style down there. I love getting stuff in the mail, everyone loves mail. The other day Keri & I came home feeling kinda blahhhh and my friends at Bud Light sent me a 12 pack just because they knew it was going to be a nice weekend. Thanks guys, it did make the weekend better and I appreciate it. Sometimes I wonder why I’m even talking about this…. should I keep quiet? Here’s the thing about blogging I don’t love: C.C Chapman wrote about it six months ago. The Mommy bloggers have been talking about it way before I brought it up, good article on MomBlogMagazine about it here. PR email comes in about an ‘exciting’ new campaign that brand XX is launching. It is either a one day event or it spans several weeks but it is ‘perfect for my audience’. This is a what is called ‘Blogger Outreach’. The company knows from idea conception that they want to connect with bloggers although they bugdet nothing for the bloggers who are going to do a bunch of work. They know exactly who they are going to target because we are all on the same list.

OH “you don’t wanna party in a sari” #smirnoffXchange

OH is ‘overheard on Twitter if you don’t know by now @itsbrownbarbie is my charming and oh so stylish roommate Sabrina. #smirnoffXchange is the hashtag for tonight Tonight’s Smirnoff party is a ‘Nightlife Exchange’ with India. I wrote about it in the ‘hey, wanna go to a party?‘ ticket giveaway post about a week ago. We were chatting about what to wear and if we should India theme our outfits and Brown Barbie said “you don’t wanna party in a sari”. She looks so cute dressed like this, much different than her usual Barbie style. There’s a couple reasons, the fancy material she has on below is highly flammable and all that fabric could cause a party foul and easily get ruined. Just think, heaps of fabric, high heels, copious amounts of alcohol, sounds like trouble to me. I’m wearing a vintage kaftan that was Mum’s from the 1970’s. She shortened it back then and I’ve tailored it a little to fit me just perfect. Love wearing Mum’s old stuff cause when I blog it she pops in to check and is happily surprised. The place we are going is called Munition Factory and the Smirnoff crew started setting up early this week. Pretty stoked to show you photos of it all tomorrow. BTW posting a contest in the AM that involves food, beer and YOU. You know where to get the daily awesome, right here! Have a great night! ♥ CASIE
